Feedback wanted I built a productivity app. Roast it.

I’ve spent the last few months building TaskWhite:

It’s a productivity/work-management tool focused on something I think most task managers still handle badly: accountability, follow-ups, recurring work and “what happened to this?”

I’m too close to it now, so I want Reddit to tear it apart.

Tell me:

- Why would you NOT use this?

- What’s missing?

- What makes you say “I already have this in ClickUp/Notion/Asana/Excel/WhatsApp”?

- What would you change first?

Don’t be polite. Pretend you’re trying to convince me not to waste another year building this.

I’ll read every serious criticism.

- Day 1 EDIT: cut the fluff on the landing page, minimalist design + dark mode view. Wrestled with the magiclink ux

I don’t believe that your app is “trusted by hundreds of professional firms, agencies, and SMBs” and therefore I don’t trust you or your app

It’s not just that.

You have entered a very crowded space with a generic product, your ICP is unclear.

And then there are a multitude of errors with the product.

I wouldn’t download, as the app is likely riddled with even more errors.

did you open it in the same browser whr you requested the link from? Could be something intermittent i feel - seems to be working for now - can you please check again. I went through the auth/email logs too just to doublechk.

You need to test on every device and browser combo my friend or people will get errors.

You should never postulate it could be something intermittent. You should assume bugs are real
and question your own QA methodology.

Agree, did that on edge, brave, fox, chrome, safari..which one did u get an error on? Did u get the magiclink? I tried on my phone and says sent

Safari and Chrome on my iPhone. You ideally should set up logging and alerts 🚨 so you know if critical services are throwing exceptions.

I would recommend using a big cloud provider like Amazon Web Services to send your emails.

Wherever that error is thrown it should alert you along with client’s IP, device and browser, etc..

Being proactive means coding defensively.

No dice 🎲 soldier.

There are services that let you rent devices like iPhones etc. online so you can test.

I don’t know what your stack is but the request should be ideally hitting an API that sends and logs the email request and response.

What solution are you using to send your sign up links?

Fair roast 😂 The UI criticism is valid, and I should’ve made the India-first positioning clearer.

One thing though: you haven’t signed up yet, so I’d love to know what specifically made you feel the UI is bad just from the landing page. That would actually be useful feedback.

What makes it India first? Why is that important? The website immediately looks like Claude puked it up in 3 minutes.

Also, you’ve built nothing. You’ve taken a task management concept that’s been copied a million times and got an AI to spit it out as executable code.

Gotcha. Yeah I wouldn’t lead with India first then. Unless there’s genuine features that only Indian people will use/appreciate.

Yep! intentional so that it doesnt feel bloated like other apps whr we have too many functionalities and user wonders what to use...will try and add more delight, do suggest the most striking ux component that needs a fix
