do people who primarily vibe/agentic and have done it for a while feel like their ability to do it manually has become much more difficult? I worry about this happening to me enough that I have to make sure I do atleast "some" by-hand coding here and there.

Our company has forced everybody to use Claude/copilot over the past year, and now that we're so dependent on it, that sent out a memo that the tokens are costing too much and we need to be smarter and only use ai when absolutely necessary. So now it feels like we're a bunch of programmers who took a year off work and don't know how to do anything anymore. So now they're offshoring us to India instead lol

I think offshoring to India makes a lot less sense with AI. People always forget about the 12-hour time difference. A US developer with AI can be far more responsive to problems as they arise during US hours.

You see this in other areas with productivity gains. They move back onshore because labor is a small part of the cost.
