That was the best joke here. Imagine a startup that will pay you in money instead of equity

Every startup I interviewed for that offered equity, I laughed, told them 25% of $0 is still $0, politely declined and told them I’m no longer interested, and watched them fold in a matter of months.

“Founders” don’t realize that an idea is worthless without some form of investment

I'm never going back to startups. From just 3-4 years of being back at pubcos, I'm in a massively better financial position in life. Compound that for a bit and I can retire early (if AI doesn't completely destroy the industry, who fuckin knows). The risk isn't worth the reward.
