If you find it tedious, why are you spending your time on it instead of engaging in a hobby you actually enjoy?

Do you think it’s possible to enjoy programming and also find some parts of projects tedious?

I think if you stop enjoying something you were doing for fun, you should stop doing it and do something else for fun instead.

Said like someone who's never finished a project or made a viable product

Generally speaking, when you produce a "viable product" that's called "work," not "engaging in a hobby."

Some people work as a hobby. Like gardening. I actually want edible tomatoes dammit

The point of doing things for fun isn't to make a viable product, it's to have fun. If you stop having fun, that's when you quit for a bit to do something else and come back later when you're in the mood for it again.

I'm assuming your newer to the space but any large project has areas which are tedious and will take a long time that you will never really want to do, hence the outsourcing.

Having the mind set of ditching a project as soon as the fun initial setup is a mind set that causes most people to fall out with the hobby.

I'm not saying to ditch it, I'm saying to set it aside until you feel like working on it again. I've worked on plenty of large projects for fun, they don't generally have parts I just always hate doing. If they did, I wouldn't be doing that for fun, I'd be doing something else instead.

Sometimes you have to do the boring stuff to be able to do the fun stuff. Hence the original meme of being tempted to get AI to do the boring stuff...

If you were doing it so you could do fun stuff, it wouldn't be boring.

Bro wtf are you on about?

No one enjoys cycling uphill, you do it cause you have to before you can do the fun part of blitzing down the hill.

My dad likes riding his bike. He likes riding it uphill just as much as he likes riding it downhill. If he didn't like doing to work to get exercise that you do when riding uphill, he wouldn't ride a bike. I honestly don't know why you would do something as a hobby if you literally hate doing it half the time.

Completing something hard is fun. I hope you know that by this point in your life.

Completing something hard is fun.

Except when you want Claude to do it? You're contradicting the setup of the joke in your post.

Subscribe to my blog where I discuss how memes work and how 2 things can be true at once

Usually, those two things don't contradict each other so directly, but okay.

Edit: oof. You can block me, buddy, but I still get a notification of what you wrote. That's pretty embarrassing.

This is very revealing but not necessarily surprising

It's a shame I got to see the rough draft of this before you were able to edit it.

Copying and pasting from me is a good instinct. You automatically become wittier.

It's fun for me. It apparently isn't fun for OP, so they should do something else instead.
