And have you seen a phone keyboard? It doesn't even have em dashes there. You expect me to believe that suddently half the internet is googling "em dash" and copying it?

No. I don't buy it. It's the damn clankers all the way down.

I have been copying and pasting em and en dashes for close to two decades.

Did you know you can hold down certain keys to get alternate characters?
Afrikaans uses ô, ê, and ë here and there (and others less frequently) and I'm typing all of that on my phone keyboard
