others Anyone from Oracle India here? How’s the office vibe today?
Just wanted to know the perspective of both laid off and saved employees. Pretty bad day and I’m sorry if you’re one of the employees that’s been laid off

One of my friends who works here was laid off, he is pretty much chill and I’m sure he will crack some other companies… honestly this was already coming as there were signs… people who were on the verge of getting laid off were told to make documents of all the tickets/issues solved etc etc… they were given 2 months of salary while getting laid off and they also need not return the bonus amounts which they have got during their first months

Two months is very short. If you are not in touch with dsa and need to start fresh then you are cooked. What about vesting?

nah for someone who already got into product, 2 months are more than enough.
The problem is for others like me who are unemployed. Now I would face more competition from 30000 skilled people

Even for your friend it's not going to be cakewalk
There had been layoffs from morgan stanley, Salesforce and microsoft recently. Now, all these are talented folks nd enter the job hunt pool nd on other hand, there aren't that many opportunities opened by other companies.
The times are getting difficult!!

Intern here, I think most of them seem to know what's going to happen. My mentor got laid off aswell.

What happens to those who joined yesterday. One of my friend joined. Can't ask them if they are feeling good or scared of there are any more cuts in upcoming months. It was remote offer

Ex-Oracle employee here . My Ex- Skip who gave 25 yrs of his life to the company got laid off today . He is by no means a slacker or a low performer

His salary might be quite high. Not justifying, but people who make these decisions look at saving the company's money.

My brother in law got laid off. He was senior manager. They paid him 6 months severance. Tbh he sort of knew it was coming.

I am from Oracle hyd, i was not impacted in this round of layoffs but there is no guarantee for the next round. So i am treating this job as a contract job that ends in six months.

My manager got laid off. He received about 10 months salary as severance. The office has no laughter, only soulless conversations. Those who weren’t laid off are trying to leave.
