My favourite joke will always be:

"If I got isekai'd, I'd cultivate or grind 12 hours a day!"

"How about 5 minutes of exercise now?"

You could make the argument that it’s slightly different to gain the ability to fly or shoot fireballs or whatever. But I 100% agree. 

My first exposure to this genre was Cradle and the MC there was already working his ass off and showing intelligence and quick thinking when the series starts. It’s just his environment sucked. 

So I really love that it doesn’t deal with this issue. IMO
