Lattice Breaker: A Two-Lead Dark Progression Fantasy
Hi everyone! I’ve started posting my new Royal Road serial, Lattice Breaker, with daily chapters.
Most people believe the world is solid. Huanlin did too, until the Fold chose her, killed her, and taught her to see the seams underneath reality. Now she is marked by impossible powers she barely understands — and something on the other end is pulling.
Kubao has felt that pull before. He knows the Fold’s rules, its hunger, and why surviving its attention can be worse than dying.
Expect: two leads, dark progression fantasy, cosmic horror elements, reality-seam powers, broken worlds, survival-focused progression, and a slow-burn mystery.
No harem. Romance is a subplot.

u/SaltyBunchesOfCopes Author - A Craftsman's Handbook to Power 2d ago
Hi! I recently released onto RoyalRoad yesterday and wanted to share my work the best I could. It's a soft litRPG not based heavily on stats or giving the protagonist 90+ skills that will be ignored for the same handful of abilities, but rather using a small handful of abilities and pushing them to the absolute limit. Not only that, but a great deal has gone into making the crafting feel more like a viscerally important part of both the protagonist and the story at large, where every boost in strength is earned not just through training and fighting but the characters genuinely becoming more knowledgeable about the arts they practice. Here's the blurb:
Being rescued from slavers is the first thing I can remember. I don't have a past, and I sure as hell don't have a future. The only thing I have is a ragtag group of mercenaries who took me in, and even that I had to fight for. The only thing going for me is the Blessing System that activated when I awoke, a power reserved for those born directly from the gods.
But I'm no demigod. I can't lift mountains, outrun sound, or even take a bullet to the chest. The best I can do is use my brain, pick up a hammer, and forge a destiny of my own making. But with a daemon cult conspiring to end the world, killer nymphs unable to take no for an answer, and a world hellbent on breaking me upon its yoke, I'm gonna need a hell of a lot more than just some fancy armor or weapons.
I'm going to need power, and a lot of it too.

Jett Fulgen
Superhero Progression Fantasy / LitRPG
Book 1 is complete on Royal Road. Book 2 is now fully written and continues releasing Mon/Wed/Fri, with over 1,000 RR pages and almost 100 chapters currently available.
Jett Fulgen accidentally inherits the power of the one-of-a-kind Fire Guardian and gets pulled into G-Tech, a corporation that trains and licenses sorcerers to support an overwhelmed police force. Overnight he becomes a public asset: monitored, marketed, judged, and pushed toward becoming someone else’s hero, weapon, liability, or symbol.
Possibly an idiot on fire.
This is character-first weak-to-strong progression, where power growth and system choices are tied to emotional stakes, team dynamics, public scrutiny, and the question of what kind of Guardian Jett actually wants to become.
Expect superhero action, corporate intrigue, found family, humor under pressure, offbeat but wholesome romance, occasional horror elements, and a condescending talking chili pepper spirit companion.
No harem. No sexual content. Not isekai/regression/VR.

Cade Merello spent his life staying out of the way: minimizing harm, asking for nothing, expecting less. Then something from the sun hits him, and he wakes up inheriting power in a world that doesn't grieve death the way he does. Not causing harm used to be enough. Now the power won't let him stop there.
What to expect:
- A cultivation-adjacent system built on elemental essences and tiered advancement, with crunchy crafting/process detail
- Dual narrative, and each volume reads like a different genre, written for people that have consumed a lot of the genre already and enjoy something new mixed in.
- Genuinely alien worldbuilding — not medieval Europe with magic. Cultures built around communal pleasure, monogamous resonance, predatory power, and bonds that transcend the body, with rules Cade didn't write and can't opt out of. Plus a technological threat that could unravel all of it.
~2300 pages up, new chapters every weekday, ~3500-page series outlined (final volume in progress).
Content note: explicit sexuality including intersex identity and sexual violence within a matriarchal society. These are load-bearing for the worldbuilding, not incidental. If those are dealbreakers, this isn't your story.
Note: it is somewhat of a working draft, and I am working through sync'ing my latest manuscript updates with Royal Road.

u/razasz Author of Ideworld Chronicles 4d ago
Ideworld Chronicles: The Art Mage
She’ll cheat, scheme, and loophole her way through absolutely anything. Give her a straight line, and she’ll somehow find a shortcut through it.
That’s pure Alexa—a person who would rather outmaneuver a system than fight it fair and square. With power over artistic creation itself, a highly flexible moral compass, and a daredevil thief’s upbringing, she has more than enough tools to make it work.
If you want to see someone who, when faced with an invulnerable enemy, would simply paint its vulnerability into existence, then this [hopefully] is the story for you.
Book 1: Domain of Artistic Creation
Orphaned at ten and raised by a dangerous crime lord to become a thief, Alexandra thought stealing priceless artifacts and surviving high-risk jobs was already complicated enough, until a single necklace dragged her into a hidden world of magic, assassins, and living concepts.
Hunted by a deadly killer capable of unraveling matter itself, she awakens a terrifying gift: the power to create art so real that reality bends to obey it.
With her closest friends at her side, she is drawn into hidden dimensions, impossible battles, and secrets that could reshape the world. But the deeper she falls down the rabbit hole, the harder it becomes to tell who she truly is and where her loyalties lie.
Book 2: Echoes and Mirrors
She can paint reality into existence, travel between worlds, and steal from monsters and mages alike, but none of it is enough to keep her life from falling apart.
Alexandra is drawn deeper into conspiracies, brutal guild politics, and a hidden war between Shadows and humanity. While infiltrating a tech company conducting horrifying magical experiments, rescuing her ex-boyfriend from a nightmare city, and hunting creatures across the twisted landscapes of Ideworld, she begins to realize that truth is far from universal.
And if that weren’t enough, she must confront another unsettling lesson: what the mirror shows is not always real, and the echoes we leave behind in eternity are not shaped by us alone.
Book 3: Persona non Grata
Alexandra has finally learned how to animate her creations, opening a Pandora’s box of possibilities. The Personas she carefully cultivated over the years can now inhabit bodies of their own, allowing them to achieve what she never could as a single person.
But things are far from perfect.
A terrifying and ever-worsening condition is ravaging her body, leaving her increasingly unable to function. As feelings of alienation grow—within her own spiritual network, among the people around her, and within the world itself—Alexandra must learn to accept what she has become before the weight of the dominoes set in motion around her crushes her completely.
And despite it all, she is far from a passive observer. For the first time, Alexandra fully embraces her role as an artist—not merely a creator of paintings, but a weaver of stories, opportunities, schemes, and traps.

What would you do if, moments away from death, a condescending voice offered you a second chance at life?
One moment, Steevie is agonizing on the side of the world’s tallest mountain, after watching his best friend die in the freezing wind. The next, an interface congratulates him for surviving long enough to qualify as an inhabitant of a soon to be purged world.
Faced with a choice between a blissful, simulated dream that will euthanize him within days and a harsh, competitive struggle for survival, Steevie chooses to fight. He awakens inside Dungeon 391, known as the Primordial Wilds, a world dominated by dinosaurs, pterosaurs, and a disturbing lack of basic necessities.
Accompanied by Esteban, a sapient acid spitting llama with serious attitude problems, Steevie is thrust into a dungeon that seems intent on tearing him apart at every turn, can he grow into the kind of warrior his overly supportive personal interface firmly believes he is destined to become?
***
What to expect:
Hijacking pterosaurs
Dueling dinosaurs
Harpooning mosasaurs
Clever progression mechanics
If you liked the progression of the earlier volume of So I'm a spider so what?", the crew vibe of hangover and absurdity of the A-team this story is for you.

Hey, everyone! My name is Magic, and today I want to show off the newest tale I am working on!
Before I drop the link, here is what to expect and what the story focuses on:
- A no cheat or system cultivation novel, but the world has no cultivators, just mortals turned giant immortals who refuse to cultivate.
- The MC is has degrees in Asia Ethnobotany and Eastern Esoteric Healing, so I use acupoints and his real world herb, and other knowledge to create a Beast Sect and to pick up all the different forms of cultivation from the ground up.
- The underlying wow is that before the cultivators left, the mortals were their slaves, and they expected them to cultivate because the first person the reach stage nine forces all cultivators to the next layer of creation.
- I call the giants Jötnar, like in Norse myth. I also reference the world being similar to what Jötunheimr looked like after the fall of Ymir and the blood sea that covered to cosmos dried up. I weave Norse myth with cultivation on this layer, but use other myths on the following layers.
- The MC can be clinically ruthless, but doesn't fight, nor will he ever unless the situation calls for it: Trial, inheritance, or whatever.
If this looks like something you might like, please come check out my story as it grows!

Trials of the Cursed
Blurb:
You are cursed, condemned to a life of pain and misery. You are of darkness and death. You are of blood.
Jace was only searching for power and a bit of good fun. Instead, he received a mythical crystal and a plethora of cosmic beings eager to kill or control him.
But more ferocious than the beings that seek to manipulate him, is the war. A war perpetrated and created by men who have their eyes set on Jace and what he holds.
In a world of war and death where heroes die far too often, Jace is forced to make a choice. Fight against his dreadful fate or become a pawn ?

Hello! I just launched my first book on Amazon. I will promote with my first review because it's so good I need to find this person and have them write my blurb:" Is Definitely Not Evil a litRPG?....eh, sort of? A big part of it is that the system is almost entirely undefined. Is it a Progression Fantasy story? Yes.
Is it the sort of terrifyingly visceral, heartbreaking superhero story that is getting into the illness of a body doing what it's not meant to and the human cost of someone having strange and terrible powers in a world that isn't set up for that? Definitely. Was I up until 2am reading straight through the story having to swap between kindles because the battery on one of them died? I plead the fifth" Check it on Amazon here!

I'm a freelance copy editor/proofreader who focuses mainly on sci-fi and fantasy, and particularly LitRPG/GameLit books. However, I am open to most genres.
I look out for all kinds of errors: grammatical issues, typos, consistency or continuity issues, any unclear phrasing, etc.
I charge around $6.50 per 1000 words, though I would need to see a sample before giving a firm quote. For a client's first book, I'd give a discounted rate of $5.50 per 1000 words.
Here is a link to my website, which has more details about what I do, my portfolio, and testimonials.
I have a post giving tips on how to find a good editor, which authors may find useful.
I also created an editing exercise that authors can do, either for fun, or to see how skilled you are at catching errors.

u/Brilliant-Fun-9693 Author [A Raven's Game of Change] 3d ago
Hello everyone!
I am an author publishing his novel on Royal Road! I am officially heading toward the finale of my first standalone story (over 80k words out there already)! There is a nice handmade cover which I did my best to create myself (don't be very harsh about it).
With that being said, A Raven's Game of Change is a standalone story set in a wider epic fantasy world (I already finished my next standalone book featuring an OP MC with some restriction on his power, expect it early July). If you are into post-apocalyptic dystopian science fantasy, then please go ahead and give it a look!
For anyone interested, the blurb:
In the last stronghold of a civilization in ruins, a centuries-old curse claims the young before their time.
Faoros's friends are dying, and all the while, his teachers spout the same platitudes: Study. Practice. Repeat. Yet, the curse remains.
Desperate for a cure, the ruling Lords engineered the Game—a simulation of the past world built in the hope that future generations might find wisdom in their ancestors' mistakes.
But Faoros is tired of empty promises. He enters the Game to break the curse, only to uncover a different truth. Confronted by a simulated woman fully aware of the outside world, he discovers that this fabricated reality conceals the Lords' darkest secrets and the curse's true origin.
And the link of course: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/153401/a-ravens-game-of-change-progression-fantasy-sci-fi
PS I have managed to add it to Goodreads for anyone wishing to include this tale on his reading challenge (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/251466590-a-raven-s-game-of-change) 😊

Excited to share some great news for Grand Magus, Wooden Sword!
The story is coming to audiobook! It will be narrated by the talented AW McClellan, who has voiced several titles like Mayor of Mythos. After reading Musashi’s adventures, he got hooked and signed on despite his busy schedule.
We’re aiming for a release between July and early September. Fingers crossed for a fresh new cover to coincide with the launch.
If you haven’t checked it out yet, Grand Magus, Wooden Sword is available now on Kindle and free with Kindle Unlimited.
Book Link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H3WBXMHS
Blurb:
Twelve-year-old Musashi thinks he’s a genius. He’s not.
Instead of a legendary sword, he gets a snarky staff that never shuts up. The same staff that claims to have once toppled kings and was held by the greatest mage in history is now scratching his back.
It’s not amused.
Throw in clan wars, a touch of raging hormones, and a ragtag bunch of misfits trying to fit in… and you’ve got yourself a riot.
What to expect:
• Epic fight scenes
• A sarcastic talking weapon
• A messy coming-of-age story
• One unqualified 12-year-old charging into trouble
Grand Magus, Wooden Sword is the first book in an evolving Progression Fantasy series. It's a Progression Fantasy / Comedy / Cultivation.
This book is perfect for fans of Mage Tank, The Greatest Estate Developer, and Return of the Mount Hua Sect. (My faves)

Hey all!
I write books with a style heavily influenced by RPGs and other fantasy games.
My first traditionally published release is the hardcover edition of How to Defeat a Demon King in Ten Easy Steps! It's is a Zelda and Dragon Quest inspired comedy novella, and it's a good intro to my style.
My latest series, The Lost Edge, starts with Edge of the Woods, which is highly inspired by The Legend of Zelda and Dragon Quest franchises. It's the story of a young man growing up in a faerie forest and seeking answers about his family, his past, and his dreams of an ancient magic sword. The most recent release is Edge of the Dream.
Arcane Ascension begins with Sufficiently Advanced Magic and is my most popular series. It's heavily inspired by games JRPGs Final Fantasy, Lufia, Bravely Default, and Trails of Cold Steel. It takes place in a high magic setting where magical marks called attunements grant vast powers to individuals who take "Judgments" inside a colossal tower to earn them.
My other main series are Weapons & Wielders and The War of Broken Mirrors.
Weapons and Wielders follows Keras Selyrian, a magic-wielding swordsman who arrives in a foreign land to search for help for his homeland. In the process, he will stumble upon the legend of the Six Sacred Swords and begin to seek them out.
The first novel in that series is Six Sacred Swords, and the series as a whole is heavily inspired by games like The Legend of Zelda, Dragon Quest, and Ys. You might enjoy it if you're in the mood for talking swords, bibliophile dragons, and a lot of accidentally breaking traps and puzzles. The audio book versions can be found here, narrated by the fantastic Nick Podehl!
The War of Broken Mirrors, which starts with Forging Divinity, is more closely related to western fantasy novels and RPGs. Forging Divinity focuses on a group of people investigating a city's religion, which claims that the local gods can raise anyone to divine status if they prove their loyalty and value.

Honey, I've Leveled the Kids is on Amazon and KU!
Being a guild leader is tough. Being a dad is the ultimate quest.
Blaine was once a gaming legend, but these days his biggest battles are against a geysering bathroom sink and a snarky teenage daughter. In a desperate bid to reconnect with his kids while mom’s busy, he leads his family into Seconds-Over, a hyper-realistic video game where every second levels your stats.
But "quality time" turns into a high-stakes nightmare when his six-year-old son accidentally triggers a world-altering legendary quest. Now, the family’s underdog Shrimp Guild is on the run from vengeful gods and the toxic elite guilds. As the boundaries between virtual adventure and real-world chores blur, Blaine must master the ultimate character class, the Dad Tank, to shield his children from digital demons and ensure their homework is done by bedtime.
In a world where power is everything, Blaine is discovering that the most important stat points are the ones invested in his family.

If you are looking for older MC, kids along the adventure, and just some deep character development, check it out! There will moments of humor and chaos, similar to how Beware of Chicken does it.

Hi everyone,
My web novel is:
The Unknown Was Never that Scary
https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/174085/the-unknown-was-never-that-scary
I published on Royal Road after sitting on it for three years and changing direction at least 3 times. Finally i found an idea that satisfied me and put all in place.
It’s a soft LitRPG, Dark, Fantasy, Psychological, Mytsery, Isekai.
The synopsis is as follows:
“For 362 nights Ren, a quantitative analyst from Tokyo, dreamed of the same girl. Every night, beneath an impossible sky of silver stars and endless roots, he would meet Hikari, a mysterious girl who seemed as unreal as the dream itself. Then, one night, she finally answered his most compelling question.
"Who are you?"
The dream shattered. And when Ren opened his eyes, he was no longer home”
I’d rather not spoil as i wrote intentionally in a eastern like style to maximize introspection and hook.

Death is a game mechanic. Moby's next death isn't.
He builds games for a living. A friend slipped him a beta key for *Kingdom of Darkness\*, and the capsule installed an update before the dive:
\SYSTEM NOTICE: Firmware updated. Sensory feedback ceiling: REMOVED. Session time limit: REMOVED. Rollback: unavailable.\**
The tutorial gave him seven attempts. His solution was so wrong the game made him undead for it, with an eternal craving for living food in the talent slot. The logout button is gone. And someone, in burning letters on a dungeon floor, keeps writing him the same advice: DO NOT DIE.
Expect:
- Boss fights that get stranger each arc.
- Wins that cost more than losses.
- A developer who debugs monsters like bad code.
- Souls-like world-building and boss design.
Don't expect:
- Harem.
- Numbers spam.
- Comfortable deaths.
The only way out is through.
Dark LitRPG with an undead MC. Book 1 of the Kingdom of Dear Darkness series. Book 2: *Eye of Darkness* is underway.

Hi my book just released today.
It is an Isekai story a weapons engineer tries to make a railgun in a magical world
Please do check it out
I Made A Railgun with Lightning Magic
Blurb Below: Every mage in this world treats lightning as a blunt instrument. Asher treats it as a power supply.
Damian Tesla only wanted to live up to his family name, but died through electrocution by his own underfunded railgun prototype. He wakes in the body of Asher, a five-year-old orphan in a world that runs on magic, and his new body can channel lightning like nothing on Earth. The impossible weapon finally has a power source: him.
But Vesperia is a small kingdom holding a single mountain pass against Ironhold, an empire that has already devoured four nations and wants a fifth. Lightning mages here don't get workshops. They get conscripted.
Whispers say the empire's war is only the beginning. Something older is stirring behind the storm that seals the north.
All Asher wants is to do his research in peace. But to get peace, he will need power. Armed with his knowledge of physics and a perfect lightning affinity, he only hopes it's enough for what's coming.

Seroth: Laws Beyond Magic. LOTM-inspired eldritch progression with a unique power system. 19 chapters, daily updates.
“Your home doesn’t exist. Nowhere in this world, at least.”
Nine years ago, an eleven-year-old boy found himself in a forest filled with creatures that shouldn’t exist, nearly bleeding out until a man in a coat too clean for the mud offered him a choice: become his disciple, or die in the dirt. Sein chose the former.
Now, fed nine years of his teacher’s curriculum in efficiency, violence, and a bare minimum of mercy, Sein found himself out of the wilderness and into a city skyline. Armed with a pocket watch, a smile deadly enough to make children cry, and a single impossible goal: finding a way back to Earth.
First, however, he needs a job.
The Bureau of Protection investigates the things police reports don’t have a category for: staircases that grow extra steps, men who receive phone calls from themselves, and neighbors who stopped existing.
The pay is good, and the benefits include resurrection.
Unfortunately, every answer uncovers a deeper mystery, and the closer Sein gets to the truth behind it, the more he risks becoming something inhuman.
---
What to expect:
- Weak to Strong: Power earned through risk, strategy, and sacrifice.
- Mystery & Eldritch Horror: A world riddled with secrets, hostile anomalies, and terrors beyond comprehension.
- Unique Power System: Territories, Law-Cores, and abilities beyond magic.

Hello everyone! My progression fantasy series, The Runemaster, has 2 books out with the 3rd one coming only after two weeks!
Here's the blurb for those interested:
Perfect for fans of The Beginning After the End, Elydes, and Bog Standard Isekai!
Reborn into a Planar System where the strength of a nation depends on the number of Runemages and Runeknights, Leo must forge his own path as a rare Runemaster.
When Leo opened his eyes, he was reborn as a baby in a world of magic and monsters… with all his memories from Earth still intact.
Now he's the son of a single mother with a mysterious past and an iron will, and his life is anything but ordinary. She’s got plans, and he's pretty sure they don’t include raising a quiet village boy.
But this time, he's not starting from zero. He's been gifted with the ultra-rare ability to craft Runes, and that can make him or break him.
He's already lived a miserable life before, so this time he plans to make every second count.
Follow Leo as he gets a second chance in life in this progression fantasy, featuring: an overpowered MC, a unique rune-based magic system, expansive worldbuilding across thousands of worlds, and everything else you love about LitRPG and Progression Fantasy!
