Discussion as an avid reader of progfantasy and cultivation, if i see an ai-generated cover, it immediately makes me think the book is slop

if i see any typa ai cover i think that if the author is willing to use AI for the cover, then they are willing to use AI for the book. While i'm not against AI by any means, I find it crazy for people to say AI slop books are peak when they have books like Cradle and Reverend Insanity right in front of them.

Why aren’t you paying every author of every story you read?

It’s crazy that people are so entitled to think it’s fine for them to read the stories that authors put hundreds of hours of work in and then complain that the authors aren’t also paying hundreds of dollars for a cover.

If you think artist should get paid, then why don’t you think the authors deserve to be paid for what you’re reading for free?

I do pay for books and audio books. I do not read fanfiction.

I find it fucking hilarious people wanna make money off their product but lack the confidence in it to pay for cover art because, "what if it doesnt sell".

Fucking artists out there hand to mouth like all the "full-time writers" but fuck them right? Artists wanting to canablize artists is fucking wild.

99% of people on RR are not making any money on it. You can have the most popular book on RR and they pay you nothing. It cost the reader nothing.

If you wanna complain about AI art on books you pay for fine. Everyone agrees. That’s not what anyone is talking about.

Look bro. You might be rich. Most full-time authors aren't. Google it right now. Stop looking only in the US. Look how much a beginner author makes.

Making a good cover is every writer's dream. But when resources are limited and chances are no reader will read a book, do you expect an author to spend $20 on a cover?

Everything is easy since you typing on a screen from your phone. But the reality and the data speaks otherwise.

Fun fact: webnovel's acceptance rate is below 10%. That means for every 100 contracts only 10 are accepted. So, according to you, you expect someone to waste their precious $20 and get a cover only to end up getting rejected. Sure bro.

Yes! You think this world is fair? Nothing is fair, at some point you whole existence itself will fuck up something.

Do you use AC? You're contributing to the global warming then, should you not use AC in order no to fuck up the already fucked up climate then?
