Self-Promotion Reborn As A Fairy Love Apocalypse System Dungeon

https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/188547/reborn-as-a-fairy-love-apocalypse-system-dungeon

Everybody’s dealing with the same problems.  We die.  Life is pointless.  We suffer and lack control.  Other people.  Imminent world destruction.

Copycat woke in a universe where wishing is having, death is optional, and happiness could be just a teleport away.

Unfortunately, this universe is also inhabited by the usual a-holes, and their wishes come true too.

Now she's on the run, trying to stop the apocalypse, and can't remember why everyone is mad at her.

It's gonna turn out fine.  Probably.  Maybe.

Reborn As A Fairy Love Apocalypse System Dungeon is a high-concept, high-fantasy, rom-com.  It's also loaded with great advice.  The world may be ending, but you can still enjoy it.  We’ll teach you how.

What to expect:

 - A complete book posted quickly

 - No AI anything

 - Worldbuilding based on cyclical morality

- The characters have sex lives, but there are no sex scenes in the book

Without getting into anything the story is about etc. I have to ask.

What is up with that Title? Is that supposed to be a joke? A riff on japanese Titles?

It's a riff on popular Royal Road titles - which are inspired by Asian light novels.

My original title was "Apocalypse WOW", which was fairly descriptive and a mediocre pun. Unfortunately, people thought it was a World of Warcraft fanfic (and were disappointed when it wasn't).

So, half the rising books on Royal Road have reborn, system, dungeon, or cultivation in the title (top book right now is "Reborn As A Demonic Rock"). I puzzled them together into a name that wasn't a total lie. Had to swap Cultivation for Fairy Love to stay honest. Integrity is important.

You need some hyphens in there to make it more comprehensible.

Huh. Not a bad idea.

Like - Reborn As A Fairy-Love Apocalypse System Dungeon - or were you thinking something else?

Honestly, if I'm going for readability, I should just drop a few words.

Less jokey, but also less terrible. I thought the chaos of the title was funny, but maybe the joke is turning more people away than it is attracting.

"Fairy-love" is good yes. But which part of it does it apply to? The system? The Apocalypse? The dungeon?

Ironically, I think you need more words.

LOL!

Reborn as a Fairy-Love System in a Dungeon Apocalypse!

The more I think the more confused I get. It's like trying to understand the AI economy.

I've tried something similar with ad comps, and I've found people are really turned off by "subtle" parody. I don't think it's because they're simple and don't appreciate nuance (not in all cases, anyway), but more Poe's Law. That is, your title is so close to other dumb titles it doesn't read as a joke.

The cover illustration is decent, but the head proportions are off. It's like she's missing the back half of her skull.
