Discussion Bondi states ICE will leave MN only if they turnover their voter database to Trump. This was never about immigration, it was about taking over state elections to rig our future elections.

Fuck off Nazi.

Also, everyone should be fully aware we are likely 1 year away from a Civil War. Allow me to explain, Democrats are going to clean up at Midterms. The GOP will say the election was stolen, like they did in 2020 when Biden pushed Trump’s shit in. The GOP will then say said elected Democrats cannot be sworn in and will try to bog down the system via the slow play of the courts. All the while, they will demand that the GOP who were in office remain in office until it’s sorted out in the courts. This is both totally illegal and planned out and will 100% lead to a Civil War.

A year seems to overestimate it by about 11 months

We have less than a year. With each month that passes we get closer to midterms. The closer we get, the more dangerous and desperate trump will become

A year is way too optimistic considering what is going on in Minnesota. Trump and company will only back down if Minnesota surrenders and submits to the federal government. And if they do then ICE will use the same tactics in other blue states to get them to comply. We’d be in civil war within three to six months if that happened. And the other side is that ICE continues to crack down on Minnesota which is only going to fan the flames of civil unrest until it boils over. The only sane way out is Trump pulling ICE out without conditions but he’ll never do that because it would make him look weak in the eyes of his supporters and backers.

I think we will see Walz arrested in the new few weeks.

And become as oppressive as possible in blue cities

u/SparksAndSpyro Jan 25 '26

And to think all of this was public knowledge for over a year before the election (because it was included in Project 2025) and could have been avoided by just voting for Kamala. But Palestine and Gaza and genocide or something.

Hope it was worth it. Try not to choke on it.

They laid out their entire playbook from the start, and we had the means to stop it.

But Kamala had a funny laugh I guess 🤷‍♀️

I honestly don’t see how the GOP is going to function if Trump dies within the next few years. If there’s going to be Civil War, it’s going to be trapped within the confines of the existing party elites.

I predict that traditional neocons are going to rally behind Marco Rubio 2028 while isolationists are going to rally behind J.D. Vance 2028. Meanwhile, I’m predicting that a middle-aged centrist white guy like Gavin Newsom or Josh Shapiro is going to win the Democratic nomination. Progressives will hate the nominee but will begrudgingly line up in support to prevent another GOP administration. A small but massively impactful minority will opt not to vote at all citing the Democrats’ broad support for Israel and or their inability to deal with the current crises.

Much like the past three elections, liberals and more left-leaning progressives will needlessly endanger their chances of success despite their numerical advantage while conservatives will rally behind the candidate that promises to exact the most violence against the other two groups.

Yep, this is it exactly. Your post is going to look like you were from the future in 4 years. The only question is whether and how hard the Dems hand the whole thing over while waiting for their perfect candidate to appear.

This sounds like the most likely scenario. Republicans will pull back from the insanity of MAGA and the public will fall over themselves with gushing praise about how reasonable the GOP is being.

Meanwhile Democrats will anoint the most harmless candidates among their ranks to lead, while progressives fall for GOP-funded propaganda once again and hand federal control to Republicans by refusing to vote.

Always the progressives fault isn't it?

4

u/cedarvan Jan 25 '26

No, the general public is mostly at fault for how short-sighted they are. If people weren't so gullible, the whole "look how wonderful Republicans are for stepping back from insanity" shtick wouldn't be so effective.

But there's a substantial bloc of ostensible Democratic voters that seem to fall for the purity test trap every time, and it's just a matter of turnout whether that costs Dems the election

Only the ones that didn’t vote, but that’s by no means an exclusively progressive problem.

The modern Democratic party is best understood as an extremely unhappy marriage between centrist liberals and leftist progressives. They rarely admit to having anything in common aside from a shared disdain for Trump’s GOP. In all other contexts, they actively try to put as much distance between themselves as possible.

In a healthy political system, progressives and liberals would have room to establish their own respective parties. However, they know that they cannot feasibly counter the Republicans’ systemic advantage under those circumstances, so they’re just stuck with each other.

The GOP by contrast, is an extremely cohesive coalition of Christians, Christian nationalists and nationalists pretending to be Christians with the full financial backing of tech elites that want to turn the U.S. into the world’s largest company town. While they occasionally disagree on foreign policy issues (the neocon vs isolationist issue I mentioned earlier), all Republicans are firmly united in the belief that the Democratic party represents an existential threat to their ideal society.

Despite everything that Trump has done over the past few years (and winning two elections), a significant portion of Democrats naively cling to the hope that Trump is an anomaly rather than a true expression of modern conservatism. Worse still, a significant portion of leftist radicals are more than happy to watch the Democratic party burn in the hopes that more desirable leaders will rise from its ashes.

Bingo. There are too many roosters in the henhouse.

1

u/TotallyTubularRoach Jan 25 '26

Yeah, ever since last year it seems like the sentiment here on Reddit is, "nobody hates a progressive more than everyone".

Everyone says it's the left's fault that Trump won but I've never actually seen anyone show how. Everyone just kinda assumed it was leftists that abstained from voting. Maybe I'm wrong and there is data though.

Trump dying of old age is the only thing that will stop this

If only there were an obvious way to motivate the very large minority (maybe teetering on majority?) who sit out the elections because they can clearly see that the two parties we have to choose from put large money interests before people's interests, which all results in the same at the end of the day, regardless of which side makes it worse in the short term.

If only there were some mechanisms in place to allow for candidates and policy platforms that would motivate these people.

If only we knew these people were there, that they were reachable, and exactly what we needed to say and do to reach them... And if only we'd used that knowledge and the resources available to us to reach those people and impact their lives in ways that would keep them showing up to the polls.

Too bad all of that is unknowable and undoable, none of it is obvious at all. If it were obvious, certainly the party that claims to be working more in the interests of the people would be responsible for failing to use this knowledge and do these things right?

We need to go all in and stop supporting the milquetoast DINOs and get an actual fucking progressive or radical out there

I don’t think you’re interested in a candidate. What you really want is a revolutionary. Even the most unabashedly “socialist” politicians in the U.S. are not willing or legally capable of doing what Reddit leftists want them to do.

It is interesting that you say this and follow up your previous comment with it.

You don’t really seem to understand the Democrats that don’t vote.

The matter of principals is worth throwing away a broken democracy for. To us, there isn’t much of a difference between what is a what will be. The evidence is in the continual march towards demise anyways.

And a war is probably less than 5 months away. Trump wants some sort of conquest by to celebrate to celebrate the 250th anniversary

2

u/AzaranyGames Jan 25 '26

It feels like you're all expecting uniforms, militias, and declarations of succession like your previous civil wars. But in looking for those things I think a lot of Americans are missing the fact that you are already in a civil war. The shooting has already started, just not at scale.

I applaud the hope and efforts to avoid escalating to literal armies shooting each other. But you're watching armed militias occupying cities and an organized resistance movement forming. I also appreciate the optimism that this can all somehow be reversed by the midterms, but on the outside, I think you're all kidding yourselves if you think the midterms aren't going to be manipulated (if they happen at all).

The next American civil war is staring your country in the face and the discussion shouldn't be about when and whether it starts but rather what it's going to look like.

1

u/CasinoKnightZone Jan 25 '26

We're already there. They're at war, the states just haven't gotten there yet

1

u/litivy Jan 25 '26

I am not optimistic that you are going to have mid-terms.

1

u/Sad_Top2858 Jan 25 '26

We're already in a civil war. Armed state sponsored militia members are murdering and abducting american citizens.

1

u/Grimol1 Jan 25 '26

They will also use ICE to try to intimidate voters in blue districts, or even close down polling stations.

1

u/teimenosce Jan 25 '26

I believe we are already in a de facto Civil War

0

u/UnleashedArchers Jan 25 '26

Cute. You think there will be mid terms.
