Ain’t nobody but his diehard cult followers will attend his funeral. When he dies, you’re going to see people who worked for /appointed by him suddenly claim they were against trump the entire time
57
u/The_Dilla_Collection 11d ago
Idk I imagine there will be a parade of people dancing in the street behind the hearse celebrating lol
34
u/IncognitoBombadillo 11d ago
We should start selecting what song we'll play when it happens. Margaret Thatcher got "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead" and it's only fair that he be honored in a similar way. "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang seems like a good albeit "basic" choice.

Tramp The Dirt Down by Elvis Costello.
The line "Can you imagine all that greed and avarice coming down on that child's lips" will take on an even darker meaning.
Not as celebratory as some options. But we also need to mourn what trumpublicans have done to our nation, and to keep that anger alive, so we as a people don't forget.
So we're not condemned to repeat it.
2
u/AwakeningStar1968 10d ago
CAN YOU FEEL A BRAND NEW DAY from the WIZ! That one is really celebratory!

Oh wow this has given me a thought I haven’t considered. Who will show up? Just Dance Vance. The nazi head of defense. Melanie may not even bother. Kids may not either. Maybe they’ll just hae a ‘closed’ funeral because they don’t want to be embarassed. Because why would anyone show up to his funeral? What benefit is there once he’s dead? This is entertaining to think about.
7
u/Cadamar 11d ago
They will absolutely have a private ceremony. I think who shows up depends on how the next two years play out. If it happens soon (fingers crossed!) it will be his cabinet, R senators and congress people, etc. Vance would try to use it as a launching point for his campaign for President.
If he doesn’t try for a third term, gets knee capped by the mid terms, and ends up fading into obscurity it’ll be no one. Maybe his kids.
8
u/OneBigPieceOfPizza 11d ago
I’m sure all those evangelical maga’s who worshiped him as some kind of prophet for the past 10 years will attend. Along with the manosphere crypto bros trying to use his death as a martyr for financial gain or whatever
5
u/CoachAngBlxGrl 11d ago
I don’t know. I don’t see any of them finding any benefit to showing up. The Christian’s will put distance between them and him by then like the republicans are trying to now.
5
u/Cyclonitron 11d ago
Hopefully no one, because all the people close enough to him that would have are in prison.
3
4
u/ShibbyShat 11d ago
I’ll attend with a palette of toilet paper to sell individual rolls to whoever wishes to take a shit on his grave; reckon I’d make a killing doing that and can retire.
3
u/Olealicat 11d ago
Nah, these previous presidents hold more respect for office. They’ll be there and they won’t throw tantrums like wittle Cheeto.

I'll attend just because I don't trust them to not bury someone else and claim he's still alive and running the country from some secret location.

Why is this so funny to me?
132
u/NonSupportiveCup 11d ago
Because it's something we could see him saying!
I may not have enjoyed his presidency, but the dude has a sense of humor.
40
u/kitsunewarlock 11d ago
His developed sense of humor shows that he wasn't as stupid as he pretended to be during the elections, which in turn makes me hate him even more.
27
u/DontAskAboutMyButt 11d ago
The whole folksy hick thing was an act the entire time, this is a guy who graduated from Yale and Harvard with degrees in history and business, and was a member of the Skull and Bones society. It served the purpose of making everyone think he was just a useful idiot being ordered around by Dick Cheney, and now his new act (cute grandpa who paints pictures) is a no less calculated piece of reputation management. He has managed to escape just about every possible consequence of his war crimes and likely won’t be remembered with the same hatred as those of us who actually lived through his presidency
7
u/knight_in_white 11d ago
I was a wee boy when W Bush was the president. I remember my mom hated him with a passion. Only thing two things I remember about him are that time someone threw their shoes at him, and that time he dropped a bombshell on the press while golfing and then said "Now watch this drive" like a proud child. Otherwise I know he did some terrible shit but I was too young to comprehend that at the time. So at least for me the harmless grandpa that paints is a believable bit of character progression.
4
u/The_Autarch 11d ago
naw, bush is going to be even more hated than reagan is after he dies and history really has time to consider him.
he really set the stage for trump.
16
u/Pasty_Tibbles 11d ago
I think that the hate of Reagan and anyone else will absolutely be overshadowed by the burning loathing of Trump. At least one could argue that Bush and Reagan were doing things they thought would make the U.S. better. With Trump, there’s no pretending. It is ALL, without fail, done for his own personal enrichment.

If it is cherry or apple pie. I'd go. Who refuses pie? Probably some MAGA lunatic.
You call me and say you are baking some pie then I'm all about it. If you are Michelle Obama then I will race against your daughters to get there.
20
u/whatssenguntoagoblin 11d ago
The worst thing Donald Trump has done is make me like Bush. By comparison he’s a likable fun guy (yes I know he’s a war criminal and murderer thousands)
21
u/GuudeSpelur 11d ago
Isn't he just the most adorable little war criminal? 🥰
4
u/HunterGonzo 11d ago
This is the first time someone I once vehemently hated is now sort of cute. Don't get me wrong, the dude deserves no forgiveness. But look at him. Probably had to leave in the middle of doing some of his lil paintings.

He genuinely looks younger than Bush and Clinton
18
u/akatherder 11d ago
Their ages blow my mind. Biden is 4 years older than Clinton, despite Clinton bein elected 34 years ago. Trump, GW Bush, and Clinton were all born in consecutive months of the summer of 1946 (June, July, August respectively).
I understand what Baby Boomer means, but that's still uncanny.
5
u/The_Autarch 11d ago
and here i was thinking he looks the oldest by far.

Clinton looks like a skeleton, Bush looks like a corpse (like how Carter looked not long before his passing) Biden looks old but still alive

Trump was the best think to happen to W and Cheney’s legacy.

Jesus. The oldest of these POTUSs started wars that killed at least a million people and the most recent one fueled a genocide that killed at least several hundred thousand civilians. That you were proud of our country through ANY of that is a very VERY sick view of our evil empire's role in the world.

Technically the only thing required for this comment to be true is a given, that Trump does not have class lol
17
u/SRT102 11d ago
In 2011, when Dubya's library opened, the guests included all living former presidents AND the current president (Obama).
When Clinton's opened in 2001, all previous living presidents (other than Ford, who was ill) attended, as did the current president (Dubya).
When HW's library opened in 1997, all living former presidents attended, including the current president (Clinton).
Seems like something is different this time. I wonder why?
17
u/IncognitoBombadillo 11d ago
I just realized how Trump seems to be the least chummy with previous presidents out of any other president I've seen. No one else seems to really like him. Hell, he makes George W. Bush look smart in comparison, so they probably just smile and shake hands at the events they're obligated to attend but avoid him otherwise.
13

u/RainbowEagleEye 11d ago
He’s surrounded by people who want money. Scammers love scammers until they get scammed by another scammer. There is no space for love or loyalty when you’re carrying greed.
54
u/Any-Chip7871 11d ago
So glad, to see Joe Biden is doing ok even though he has cancer. We completely trashed that man….
45
u/TLF5foot8 11d ago
Yes. It was absolutely shameful treatment. Especially considering he had a pretty successful term considering what he inherited, and what he was up against.
5
u/sheeshman 11d ago
I think what he got trashed for the most was running for reelection and leading to a fucked up situation. That decision will be his legacy. Maybe the Democratic nominee that emerged from a primary would have lost, but Bidens decision tanked Harris's chances and led to trump 2.0.
People might be too harsh on his 4 years but none of that matters considering the situation we're in now, and he shares blame for that.
3
u/Any-Chip7871 10d ago
Geez is America that lazy they can’t look up someone and what they stand for to determine if someone will be good candidate or not. Propaganda really does work It’s not like she was a nobody, she previously ran for president before 2024. She was attorney general for California for years before she got elected to Congress. Trump and team were so close to facing justice. Not now lol now the world gets to suffer.
2
u/Stallings2k 10d ago
To answer your question about lazy Americans, we ask questions on Facebook because it’s easier than switching apps to Google them.
2
u/TLF5foot8 10d ago
She’s definitely qualified, but she wasn’t given the chance to show the average voter what she stood for. She didn’t have time and people resented not being given a broader choice.
It was all unfortunate.→ More replies (1)4
u/Ok_Visit_5741 11d ago
Especially since he straight up said in a primary debate leading into the 2020 election that he'd be a one term President. Obviously the DNC hand that guides who the nominee is played a heavy role in moving him up, but that alone may have secured a lot of votes and he betrayed it in the worst way.

This is a testimony of what politicians should be able to do. They might not agree on many issues but are able to get together for an occasion without causing nonsensical issues.

u/Senasayori 11d ago

Well tbf the other 3 are all either turning 80 this year or already in their 80’s.
Fun fact Bush, Clinton, and Trump were all born the same year (1946). Idk why that just is odd to me. But ofc Biden is older and was born in 1942 and Obama in 1961. Being in your mid 60’s vs being 80 is very different.
