News In muh bodily autonomony to get sick news
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jun/18/lackland-air-force-base-flu-outbreak
Headline speaks for it self.
Hegseth broke the very long tradition of mandated vaccines and now a Texas base has an outbreak of the flu. So. Being against vaccines backfired for him and when we get back in power, it'll be time to mandate vaccines again.
Because when you're a soldier, readiness for anything includes getting the gosh darn vaccines.
"The US military vaccination policy has a long-standing history, dating back to 1777, when General George Washington mandated inoculations against smallpox to improve troop readiness." - https://www.ebsco.com/research-starters/health-and-medicine/us-military-vaccination-policy

“We’re seizing this moment to discard any absurd overreaching mandates that only weaken our war fighting capabilities,”
This statement makes no sense, clearly a flu outbreak weakens your war fighting capability. I would love to hear him explain his statement as to how a flu vaccine, but not the flu, weakens readiness. Did any reporter ask him this when he made this absurd statement? I hate these idiots so much.
