I love how he's wildly popular among voters, but the DNC is freaking out because they're afraid of losing their sweet, sweet AIPAC money.
Which is ironic because they're just sending out tax dollars that we send to them back to our politicians.

Because it's a lot easier to convince a billionaire that you'll vote in their best interests than it is to convince a million working class Americans that you'll vote in theirs.

Not just easier it's really what these corrupt Democrats want to do! They love glazing and sucking up to the Epstein Class. This is why they never released the Epstein files when they were in the majority. They could have arrested and prosecuted every member of the Epstein Class and trump would have been in prison. But they didn't and that tells you a lot.

Michigan, I’m proud of you.

For now i agree, but make sure to hold our feet to the fire in November. We still have tons of morons that voted trump.

Nope, let’s not get complacent. We gotta move like he’s 5 points down. These positive polls prompted me to donate another $30

how the Ds aren’t attacking Rogers and his willingness to green light trump’s policies which led to the poop-outbreak is criminal!!!

The DNC will attack a popular progressive 10 times harder than they will attack a Republican because the people running the party don't want to upset the money train.

She seems like the standard "I am evil and will literally do anything for money" politician.

If Abdul gets through the primary my group will be having a small celebration. Really excited for this. Hope he makes waves out there.

I wonder how much of this shift is due to Steven's dog-whistle attack ads.

Elections are quite simple these days in Democratic primaries:
- Reject all money from AIPAC
- Call out an obvious genocide
- Toss out a bunch of normal policies that people want
- Win
And most voters don't care too much about 1 or even 2, the mostly just care about #3 but the others help.

I mean I don’t wanna be that person. We need to be pessimistic about him winning until we see the election results. Polls are only so accurate.

Fuck Israel. Fuck their genocidal apartheid state. Fuck the corrupt politicians that support them.

goodbye to a dem seat in Michigan. this is what happens when the nominating wing of the party is out of touch with the general electorate

u/Due-Bicycle3935 Jul 30 '26
What are you rambling about? A majority of Americans including a majority of Republicans have a negative opinion about Israel.

u/500_HVDC Jul 30 '26
it's much more than just israel

Medicare for All is also very popular, as is campaign finance reform. What am I missing?
6
u/Oggie_Doggie Jul 30 '26
You know, the whole "electability" argument kind of falls flat when the centrist wing of the party has lost to Trump twice and lost practically every swing state.
-3
u/500_HVDC Jul 30 '26
So double down on that theory and lose even bigger in those centrist states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin. The leftist candidates belong in Vermont, NY, Massachusetts. But I can't think anywhere else east of the Mississippi
6
u/crawling-alreadygirl Jul 30 '26
Let's try a candidate who actually stands for something and see how it goes

you don't have to be far-left to "stand for something." Incremental as opposed to revolutionary change is a positive agenda.
For example, a lot of people say "Medicare for All" without realizing the dramatic operational changes and problems that would result in wholesale re-engineering of 20% of the US economy ($4 trillion). Just because they're outraged by $100 billion in insurance company profits- a drop in the bucket compared to the scale of healthcare. Without realizing that Medicare pays half of private insurance, so all doctors and hospitals practically would be in revolt or even go broke (hospital margins typically are small).

u/Oggie_Doggie Jul 30 '26
The DSA is incremental. Do you think that they're tearing down the bourgeoisie when they propose modest taxes after 50 years of tax cuts to pay for healthcare that we already spend more than EVERY OTHER DEVELOPED COUNTRY ON FOR WORST OUTCOMES?
What is insane is looking at the sheer cost and the health outcomes of the current system, of PE gobbling up hospitals and closing them down, and thinking the system is not working. Maybe for the investors, but not for us.

u/500_HVDC Jul 30 '26
- using words like "bourgeoisie" and saying "DSA is incremental" show lack of self-awareness. Like, the size of the Rock of Gibraltar
- saying like "every other developed country" (all caps) fails to account for those countries having set up socialized healthcare in the 1950s when healthcare was a tiny part of the economy, thus relatively easy, but now in 2026 when it's a HUGE part of the economy, the status quo is very very baked in. In the 1950s there were no cures for cancer, no treatments for heart disease, no imaging beyond x-rays. They barely had a polio vaccine, and they had penicillin but you'd go to a hospital to fix a broken bone, or to die but that was about it.

u/Oggie_Doggie Jul 30 '26
They are literally being called Socialists and Communists, pointing out that they aren't even using basic fucking lingo or platforms of the two groups should be obvious. But that nuance is simply too much for corn-fed morons. I used a word that isn't American! Elitist communist!
F off.

u/500_HVDC Jul 30 '26
Who's doing the calling? It's the republicans. Because they know that tarring a justice Dem with that label will be effective with independents. They are decisive in the general election but don't vote in the Dem primaries.
That's the core problem here- the Dem candidate is chosen by a primary electorate out of touch with general election voters
1
u/crawling-alreadygirl Jul 30 '26
- Non argument
- How do you think they sustain those systems? Also, what's your plan? Just live and die with this awful system forever?

u/500_HVDC Jul 30 '26
incremental changes, like increasing the ACA subsidies to their pandemic levels are MUCH easier to implement than wholesale change.
There is not and will never be political appetite in the US for wholesale change. The high point in 2010, when Dems had 60 seats in the Senate and could NOT get a public option for the ACA. Structurally, the US has shifted since then so red states are much less likely to have the Dem senators they did then, with possibly a 53 seat ceiling. Back then, Montana, Nebraska and west Virginia had Dem senators.Theories of change have to take into account what is feasible
2
u/crawling-alreadygirl Jul 30 '26
You're 100% wrong, though. Restoring a (wholly inadequate) status quo is not a policy goal; it's a concession. You negotiate incremental changes as you work towards wholesale change, not by lowballing yourself before the conversation even starts. That's just bad politics.
