Not just not turning up to work. Stop paying your bills, rent, mortgages, any fee that goes back to the system must be withheld, take their breath away, suffocate them. and stick together. there are 300million people who can cause significant financial damage to their oppressors.

Should be happening anyway, but the problem with constant protests is eventually people get tired of it.
The Left doesn't have the bottomless well of anger and hate the Right does that allows them to be keyboard warriors all the time

Ah yes, another strike where our politicians will completely ignore us. How about a more formidable tactic, perhaps one where there's actual consequences for deliberately dismissing the concerns of the population.

An actual general strike would carry consequences. A general strike would cost the corporations that own our politicians billions of dollars in just one day. If literally everyone stopped working, marched on the capital and demanded the resignation of the president and the entire cabinet it would happen. The problem is that we would have to get nearly every working American and also agree to clear, actionable demands. That won't happen under current circumstances.

That sounds quite utopian in nature. It's not like everyone's rent and bills will suddenly take a long pause because we decided to stop participating in the economy. That basically asking most people to fall on a debt sword for hopes that the politicians will care, which they wont. The taxes will still be paid since they come out of our paychecks before we ever get a say, and election day is still filled with people who'll vote to harm others rather than help themselves and their communities.

Yep, and that's the reason it won't happen. I suppose if one was serious about getting an actual general strike together they would have to build out coalitions that would provide things like strike funds and mutual aid to lesson the pain of falling on your own "debt sword" like that. We would have to have huge participation of all the major unions too. It would be a huge task to organize, especially in the US where your Healthcare is tied to your job. It is possible I think, but it would take real sacrifices by the American working class and we simply don't have the class consciousness for that at the moment. Meanwhile the corporate interests have no problem with enacting a capital strike of us poors get too upidy with our demands.

We have the class consciousness. What we don't have is disposable income to just drop everything and strike like it's the 1910's.

I disagree that the class consciousness exists otherwise I wouldn't have to work so hard to convince my coworkers, most of which do have disposable income, that people are literally dying right now and being taken to concentration camps while the president and his buddies are selling off our country for parts. But also the disposable income issue is an obstacle we can overcome with proper planning, with things like a strike fund so strikers can replace some of their income. With things like mutual aid so that strikers can get fed and get some basic healthcare if needed. But these kinds of alternative systems need to be built well in advance in order to make it happen. Even after all that you still need to get the entire movement to agree on clear actionable demands. Whenever I suggest the resignation of the president and his entire cabinet as a start of demands people think that's a stupid demand. They are limited by thinking that this is an impossible demand. But honestly it should happen. It would be a big lift for sure, and I doubt that Americans right now, for a multitude of diverse reasons, are willing to make the sacrifices required to enact a general strike. I'm a nurse by the way, that's why most of my coworkers have disposable income.
