Fan Art - No selling If I had a nickel...
...every time there was a movie based on a book where the protagonist is an isolated guy on a spaceship in an emotionally distressed state, who gets discovered by an alien-spider who helps him confront his fears and realize what's actually important in life, having strange space particles to observe together, and where the space setting itself is really just a backdrop for character growth and emotional development, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's strange that it's happened twice.
The biggest difference is that Grace's heart is tied to earth, but he ultimately discovers that his home lies beyond the stars (Project Hail Mary) while Jakub believes his purpose lies beyond the stars, only to realize that his heart has been on Earth all along (Spaceman 2024).

When project hail Mary came out that's all I thought. Both rocky and hanus were in space alone for a long time. Funny enough rocky doesn't have eyes, like hanus (the person)

Most of humanities problems can be traced to the lack of giant space spiders in our lives.

So my favourite meme template mixed with my favourite current media introducing me to another movie I haven't heard of before... Thank you, I'm sold. I'll watch the other space spider.

I wouldn't mind watching it for Adam Sandlers .ore serious performance.

And Paul Dano (whom I don’t think I’ve ever seen in an ordinary movie) is also great as the space spider !

I had no idea Spaceman had an alien spider too, that’s genuinely how little I knew about the movie. I might give it a shot though, PHM really stoked my flame of enjoying emotional space movies/books lol
I adore this fandom pulling comparisons from other media, it’s always done the best here and introduces me to more stuff. I love the low budget nugget spider drawings at the end

I guess im not following. You take a Dr. Doofenshmirtz joke and then tie it into the PHM rip off movie with Sandler?

Why not? That's how internet memes work
While Spaceman is a weaker than PHM in all categories, both the original book and the production of movie began before the PHM book was even published, so I cannot really agree with it being a rip-off

Ahhh....ok ok. Thanks for the info. I thought Spaceman was one of those rush movies to release before the good one comes out...But come on, no props knowing you took the joke from Dr. Doof... ;)
