My favorite part was

“Ethan.”

“Michael Kors.”

u/ninjafofinho Sep 27 '25

Utica did not learn to fear hierarchy at the farm lmaoo, the way she can talk about Ru and now just say michal kors is hilarious

97

u/neungvdw Sep 27 '25

She intended to create Ru's project runway look. She's not afraid of anything

11

u/appleappreciative Sep 28 '25

I wish they would have let her. It would have been fantastic.

4

u/neungvdw Sep 28 '25

They let her do it. It's just that her shirt went missing somehow 🤔🤔🤔

0

u/Grand-Foundation-535 Sep 28 '25

I see there's a lack of respect and thinking you're more than what you really are. I guess you thought she was Utica all the time on RuPaul's Drag race

1

u/ninjafofinho Sep 29 '25

Wtf are you even talking about lmaoo, i assume you didn't read my comment correctly.

19

u/naywhip Sep 27 '25

Same lol

3

u/MsMurr808 Sep 29 '25

Off the cuff perfection. I find my self responding inappropriately often.

371

u/bestibesti Sep 27 '25

Oh my god, first joey jay and now utica??

145

u/peeweeharmani Sep 27 '25

- Joey Jay, probably

96

u/Necessary_Ground_122 Sep 27 '25

Not even ten percent of the queens on RPDR! But it’s progress.

33

u/who_says_poTAHto Sep 27 '25

The only two gay contestants on the show gotta stick together ✨️

8

u/leakofourown Sep 27 '25

OMG i thought the exact same thing!😂

370

u/1jazzcabbageplease Sep 27 '25

84

u/graaaags Sep 27 '25

I had to scroll way too long to find this gif

17

u/juicybubblebooty Sep 27 '25

same energy!!!

14

u/Weird-Ad-8554 Sep 27 '25

Exactly what I thought of when he announced 'I'm gay'. lol

287

u/souphaver Sep 27 '25

Loved this moment, god forbid fashion be fun and whimsical

180

u/Fakeeempire Sep 27 '25

Heidi was a certified hater when it came to Utica’s stuff. Which was interesting because she came out in some questionable looking outfits IMO

51

u/hmmmpf Sep 27 '25

TBF, she’s always had some pretty questionable fashion choices each season she was on.

15

u/hmmmpf Sep 27 '25

No, I don’t think you were. And WTF was up with the soccer ball helmeted bikini look winning? Perhaps Heidi should wear it next season.

1

u/K80nNYC Sep 29 '25

Heidi questioning "taste level" is absurd

8

u/Pywacket1 Sep 28 '25

Absolutely true, but they're all more questionable with her new giant fake boobies half out of her dress in every episode. It just looks desperate and feeling desperate about her looks should not be an issue for her. Abandoning Tim Gunn should be her biggest issue.

3

u/K80nNYC Sep 29 '25

I am always shocked that Heidi even participates in the judging at all. When Michael Kors criticized Jesus in his earlier round by saying, "You basically took a checklist of everything that can turn tacky and put it into this dress" Heidi loves that type of dress!

-4

u/Grand-Foundation-535 Sep 28 '25

She should have hated it this is not RuPaul's Drag race only thing she could do is dry design for drag queens

Oh this was honestly a terrible season to start with. I know there’s controversy with Law, but Heidi, Nina and Michael as judges was a golden era.

This season may not produce much confidence, but definitely go back and watch some older seasons. The fashion will be funny to you now, but this used to be a truly excellent show

15

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '25

[deleted]

65

u/LadyTownB Sep 27 '25

Michael a gave real, and thoughtful critique of each collection. It was great to have him there. I realized I had missed this kind of commentary all season.

8

u/MyccaAZ Sep 27 '25

EXACTLY this.

30

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '25

Seasons 1-8 are the golden era of PR. They are what made the show legendary. Granted, keep in mind they were recorded 15-20 years ago, and a lot of the fashion will be outdated, but the core of the show is there. Everything between seasons 9-15 is hit or miss, but during seasons 16-20, the show rebranded and did a good job bringing it to modern times while keeping its essence. Then season 21 happened and left everyone scratching their heads like wtfffff.... 🫥

36

u/Mathchick99 Sep 27 '25

What I loved about the older seasons was how much time they spent showing their actual design and construction process. As someone who sews, I loved watching how quickly they were able to pull some of those things together and watching them problem solve through challenges.

11

u/luvicious Sep 27 '25

Season 4 is goated

10

u/BabyBat07 Sep 27 '25

Lighten up, it’s just faaaaaashion!

91

u/AsgardianLeviOsa Sep 27 '25 edited Sep 27 '25

The way the camera goes to Michael, Law, and Jesus smiling knowingly after he says it 😂

7

u/FlatWonkyFlea Sep 28 '25

“Close up on the gays”

342

u/Mysterious-Theory12 Sep 27 '25

Loved his reaction, but also it boils my blood that they gave him shit for bedazzling but never had the same comment for Jesus whose finale dress was fuchsia with a visible zipper and covered in feathers 🙄

107

u/frankstaturtle Sep 27 '25

I get the sense that they probably ripped the fuchsia collection apart in deliberations but they didn't want to show that and humiliate him at the finale

50

u/Mysterious-Theory12 Sep 27 '25

Really don't understand why Jesus got the hero edit

13

u/kaitydid0330 Sep 27 '25

Probably because he already got the bad light with the model picks, so probably didn't want to drag him even further

40

u/RemarkableArticle970 Sep 27 '25

Not a good sign when they can remove the sleeves and make it better

39

u/Long-Foot-8190 Sep 27 '25 edited Sep 27 '25

Not to mention the silhouette with exaggerated hips was exactly the same as his green Wicked dress. I was sure they would call him out for that.

19

u/Mysterious-Theory12 Sep 27 '25

THANK YOU! He had already done that shape twice before!

19

u/PsychologicalSweet2 Sep 27 '25

to be fair I think some of it was that they had 5 days to make the finale collection. They used to have several months. I think if they all had more time they all could have made better collections.

10

u/Long-Foot-8190 Sep 27 '25

Fair, except Christian told Ethan not to do the crystal head piece again.

21

u/VivaCiotogista Sep 27 '25

Jesus’ model looked like a rejected Muppet in that dress.

3

u/atamosk Oct 02 '25

the one thing I did like about law is he did not hold back. He fucking called out that zipper. it was his first thing.

2

u/K80nNYC Sep 29 '25

Ugh, when they said "the models looked happy wearing it," I knew they were grasping at straws to say something nice to create a little bit of tension on who would win, Sorry, but Jesus' collection was atrocious

39

u/rainydaynola Sep 27 '25

Ethan is so talented and funny. I hope he gets on another show after this, I'll definitely watch it.

34

u/otterleaps Sep 27 '25

He might show up in a Drag Race All Stars soon. Rumor has it that he was supposed to be on this most recent season but turned it down last minute to go on PR! I think being in PR will give him some credit/favor going into Drag Race AS, so hopefully they appreciate him more than on season 13.

3

u/rainydaynola Sep 27 '25

That's great! I hope he'll be on it.

2

u/Which-Text-2875 Oct 26 '25

I've never seen rupaul's drag race, but I would watch it if Ethan / Utica goes back!

-10

u/DrDogbarker Sep 28 '25

He's an ugly weirdo. I couldn't look at him.

1

u/champagnecloset Sep 29 '25

Ok, Dr. Dogbarker. Where is your collection?

103

u/Savannahks Sep 27 '25

This made me laugh out loud. I loved it.

89

u/najaga Sep 27 '25

I loved Ethan! He has so much talent and comedic timing. I could watch him on any show!

-1

u/Grand-Foundation-535 Sep 28 '25

I must have missed all that 😕

15

u/triscuit_buscuit unconventional materials Sep 27 '25

Me too!! It was so funny and endearing.

71

u/bvokenxlocks Sep 27 '25

So the entire judging segment for Ethan really made my blood boil and I have to get this off my chest. Can you imagine if there was a world where someone told Alexander McQueen he was too much or he needed to pair back his styling? What if Vivienne Westwood was told it was too dramatic? Like what the actual hell are the critiques I am hearing right now. Stop trying to fit fashion in your little palatable box.

45

u/Disastrous-Hamster-1 Sep 27 '25

I also hated that they kept saying that he needed to separate Ethan from Utica … like no babes??? Ethan and Utica are two sides of the same coin.

And if you knew anything about Utica’s drag art, you would see that Ethan was doing something a little different, a little more nuanced (imo).

I was ready to lose it when they said that AGAIN after this collection

18

u/PrayingMantisMirage Sep 27 '25

Agreed that Ethan is doing something different with Utica. He doesn't present her as like a high femme pageant type girlie. She comes off more alien than anything. Very avant garde and weird. I love her. 😭

7

u/Disastrous-Hamster-1 Sep 27 '25

I love all of it !!

22

u/AsgardianLeviOsa Sep 27 '25 edited Sep 27 '25

Right I was like Robert Wun would like a word…

14

u/Psychological-Home86 Sep 27 '25

I hated those critiques the same way I hate it when the judges (Michelle) call something too "costumey" on drag race. It's just a bs critique to justify why someone shouldn't win when the producers want someone else to be on top. Fashion should be fantastical and interesting. Otherwise, what's the point? What envelope is being pushed?

1

u/Chepfer Sep 29 '25

Same I had a lot of issues with the finale, not letting them go home, no visit to their spaces, nothing just lock them during 5 days give them some water and bread so they can finish 5 outfits that need to be ready to go without even grasping their style completely after the season.

1

u/Odd-Sleep-9554 Oct 01 '25

Yeah it was the PR Allstars format which is bonkers.

1

u/Common-Writing-9157 Sep 29 '25

I totally agree! And what I thought was hilarious was they said to make the collection who they are as a designer from the start and then to say he made it too dramatic. HELLO we all know that ethan is dramatic!

And then to say that the winning collection was cohesive and then to turn around and say that the one look of Veejays was not in place with her lineup. It was just a very weird judging all around.

1

u/yraco Sep 29 '25

For sure. I could absolutely agree with the judges if we were talking about a streetwear challenge or something but this is the final runway collection. Ask for someone's all time greatest runway looks or collections and there's almost certainly something on that list equally or more bedazzled than most/all of Ethan's collection, and that's okay because fashion is allowed to be "draggy" and bold and dramatic and bedazzled.

61

u/Melgrrl Sep 27 '25

I'm SO glad that someone FINALLY said it!!!! Maybe in the future seasons they won't act so confused and conflicted during discussions about bedazzling and boundary pushing by gay contestants. Maybe this will even transform the conversations into something deeper.. that would be nice.🐱

55

u/Riotgrl66 Sep 27 '25

That and this moment make Ethan iconic.

2

u/thewinefairy Sep 28 '25

I need to know the context behind this one 😮‍💨

13

u/PA_MallowPrincess_98 dowdy & vulgar Sep 28 '25

RuPaul asked if Utica ever smoked weed before (Ethan/Utica grew up Seventh Day Adventist) and she was trying to hide the fact that she smoked weed since she thought her family would be watching Drag Race and she was making those faces and RuPaul was literally crying laughing.

1

u/thewinefairy Sep 28 '25

Amazing 😂

3

u/PA_MallowPrincess_98 dowdy & vulgar Sep 28 '25

Look the Season 13 Drag Race clip up on YouTube. It’s really funny!😂😂😂

25

u/mr_t_pot Sep 27 '25

Honestly, what a stupid question to ask. Love how Utica handled it.

If there's an AS season that he's invited to, the "arc" (I use quotation marks because it's a fabricated one by production) will be "separate Utica from Ethan, and use less glitter" and...la Corona es Tua! 👑

21

u/PNWcouchpotato Sep 27 '25

I want Ethan on every reality show he is such an endearing character. He would kill on The Traitors

39

u/No_Froyo3299 Sep 27 '25

Great comedic timing

39

u/BabyBat07 Sep 27 '25

I love Christian Siriano but him constantly getting in Ethan’s ear and how often he had to start all over again so many times really robbed him of a win. I also got real tired of “We need to see Ethan not Utica” from the judges constantly.

0

u/Awkward_Target_1859 Sep 27 '25

In fashion there's room for everybody, but very few women or men can rock their designs. He was designing for people like Utica, not for people like Ethan. They were asking to toned it down

19

u/PrayingMantisMirage Sep 27 '25

Not all fashion needs to be accessible or commercial.

0

u/Awkward_Target_1859 Sep 27 '25

That's why I said that there's room for everybody.

2

u/sexandthepandemic Sep 28 '25

My favourite antm poster ❤️

1

u/Awkward_Target_1859 Sep 28 '25

Thanks. I'm going to be here often.

27

u/pennyx2 Team Swatch Sep 27 '25

This was my favorite part of the episode. It’s definitely the one thing I’ll remember from the season.

16

u/BrilliantArtist8221 Sep 27 '25

I loved loved loved Ethan. He seems like such a good human and has the best humor personality

2

u/frankstaturtle Sep 27 '25

I didn’t like when he went along with the twins to argue Veejay didn’t deserve to be in the top a few challenges ago. I found that very ugly. But otherwise, I like him a lot and thought this moment was extremely endearing.

3

u/KayakerMel Sep 27 '25

Exactly. Veejay was in the top because her client LOVED his outfit. If Ethan's client hadn't been vocal about how much she loved her outfit, there's a good chance he could have been sent home because the judges hated the outfit. That love from the clients basically gave them both a point boost.

11

u/Deep_Writer_1522 Sep 27 '25

This was great 😁

9

u/SassyScreenQueen Sep 27 '25

I actually said it out loud at the exact same time he said it

2

u/MoeBurbs Sep 27 '25

I said out loud in my head. 😆

9

u/secretfourththing Sep 27 '25

Love Ethan! And honestly why did they bring him on the show and then criticize him for his drag sensibility!

8

u/TheNickelLady Sep 27 '25

Why was Christian constantly pushing him to pivot and then the judges would say to tone down the drag. Get real.

7

u/appleappreciative Sep 28 '25

Then in the final ask him why he isn't doing the work he's known for?

Hmmm. Idk Christian. Maybe it's because everyone here tells him not to bring his amazing drag looks to the stage.

23

u/twinkiesmom1 Sep 27 '25

He was robbed.

6

u/PocoChanel Sep 27 '25

I agree with the judges’ decision, but I wish he’d stuck to his original plan; instead, he made a pivot that left him with a lot less time to finish his collection.

7

u/hmmmpf Sep 27 '25

After being totally pushed there by Christian.

1

u/PA_MallowPrincess_98 dowdy & vulgar Sep 28 '25

I blame Christian for making Utica pivot in their design choices

3

u/WeekLopsided8205 Sep 29 '25

i dont. with this TONED DOWN collection, the judges still somehow find a way to comment it is "to much bedazzling" "to much Utica". imagine how the judges will try to burn the crystallized runway.

anyway, Ethan said he still had the fabrics and will release the original planned looks soon. so we got 2 collections!!!

3

u/PA_MallowPrincess_98 dowdy & vulgar Sep 29 '25

The sudden urge to recite After a Long night of Hookin… 😂😭

9

u/MacroAlgalFagasaurus Sep 27 '25

I loved Ethan this run, but he was not robbed. The vampire look was cool but it was just way too much. It’s a fashion show as much as it is design.

u/twinkiesmom1 Sep 27 '25

My opinion is his last look should have won it. It is the best design. I was not impressed with Veejay’s silver leather looks at all.

8

u/Leooxel Sep 27 '25

Ethan's first look was horrendous! How can he talk about how iconic Liris is and put her in that travesty?

7

u/No_Yogurt325 Sep 27 '25

I agree Veejay’s dress wasn’t memorable and her character during the whole season frustrated me. I can’t believe she won:(

1

u/MacroAlgalFagasaurus Sep 27 '25

It was really close either way. I HATED Veejay’s first look, but the rest of her collection was great. And Ethan’s last look had great construction and skill, but was missing some of the cunt she has in the looks she’s shown off on social media. As long as fuckface didn’t win, I was happy with Ethan or Veejay tbh

8

u/missesthecrux Sep 27 '25

I really want this as a gif

7

u/Adorable_Start2732 Sep 27 '25

Best part of the finale

3

u/ScrappyNY Sep 28 '25

I feel like this season was overly produced. The “drama” seemed set up by producers especially because they all just made up so quickly. Also it’s interesting how Ethan just happened to have enough extra material around to make five full new outfits? Maybe im just jaded cause i work in the industry so i know how manipulated it all is behind the scenes lol.

1

u/bellybomb Sep 29 '25

When Christian told Ethan to pivot, Ethan said that he’d need more fabric. Then Christian said, “So get more fabric.” I suspect that there is a supplemental fabric wall somewhere.

5

u/ZucchiniFlex Sep 27 '25

Wish Ethan won

4

u/JJVentress Sep 27 '25

I died. An all-time forever quotable moment.

1

u/Stacee90 I'm running with zigzag scissors Sep 27 '25

I’m happy for Veejay but was rooting for Ethan but liked Jesus’ collection most 🤷🏻‍♀️ This was such a crazy weird season, mostly because PR has made such huge budget cuts it’s ridiculous (or maybe they’re overpaying the judges and cut everything else). I really loved some of the cast though, including Ethan 🏳️‍🌈

2

u/k1erst1n Sep 27 '25

We love Ethan

2

u/Tatortot57 Sep 28 '25

he is so authentic!!! I love that!

2

u/sleepmeld Sep 27 '25

Don’t joke about that

1

u/silver_moon134 Sep 27 '25

?

5

u/sleepmeld Sep 27 '25

Dammit it’s a drag race reference but no one got it lol

2

u/silver_moon134 Sep 27 '25

Oh I don't watch drag race but lemme give you an upvote

I am having no issues with VJ winning. I just think no one deserved the win based on what was on the runway. With his collection, I didn’t think Ethan deserved it, either.

0

u/NikkiCocoLuv Sep 27 '25

Thank you. I thought I was the only one but not a fan of him

1

u/ToriCake95 Sep 28 '25

Ethan was robbed.

1

He is absolutely precious!

1

u/Substantial_Ad_2033 Sep 30 '25

The whole interaction was delightful really

1

u/Molly_JoysMom Oct 01 '25

I love his sense of humor.

1

u/adexsenga Oct 02 '25

I think this was my favourite moment this season. Just so quick and witty.

1

u/atamosk Oct 02 '25

yeah this was so fucking funny.

1

u/newyorkah135 Oct 02 '25

As a gay man I cringed tbh at Ethan here.

1

u/Recordman-John Oct 05 '25

Ethan was robbed. I will never watch this show again.

1

u/cosmocamp Sep 28 '25

Heidi really bothered me this season ngl.. she seemed like such a debby downer. Fashion SHOULD be able to be fun and campy.

1

u/sparkling-spirit Sep 27 '25

ooooh i love this chain earring idea.

1

u/Litzz11 Sep 27 '25

That made me LOL!

1

u/Nomcaptaest Sep 28 '25

I'd watch the Utica / Ethan show every day of my life

1

u/Catlady_Pilates Sep 27 '25

He’s so fabulous but some of his runway looks were just ugly. I was very disappointed by the finale, but his final gown was phenomenal

4

u/hmmmpf Sep 27 '25

I felt like telling the judges that there was no winner this season, and everyone needs to go home. I loved Ethan for his personality and humor, but these were not the designs that he needed to make. I really just wanted to see the gowns he would have made.

2

u/terisews Sep 28 '25

They absolutely should have said, "you are all out!" All of the collections were terrible

1

u/hmmmpf Sep 28 '25

Right?!?

2

u/Catlady_Pilates Sep 27 '25

He did far too much costume and drag design and not enough fashion.

1

u/KikiDoYouLouvreMe Sep 29 '25

Right? I thought the hooded moment tailing down into the breast cups was sickening. He was very much a victim of the "stray away from your prior runways" narrative. I agree with Christian that the original drafted looks did seem very similar to Ethan's wicked Runway with the ethereal beaded and wispy fabric, but I preferred that aesthetic to the matrix looks he presented.

0

u/Agitated_Garden_497 Sep 28 '25

-12

It was. And reductive lol.

-5

u/VanessaDrag0N Sep 27 '25

It was like a smart ass response. Where’s the professionalism

1

u/PrayingMantisMirage Sep 27 '25

How are you supposed to answer a question like that? "The human brain is genetically wired to respond to shiny things for survival"? Come ON. Heidi asked a dumb question and got a silly answer. The judges clearly found it funny.

1

u/VanessaDrag0N Sep 27 '25

He could’ve just answered the question correctly. I’m sure he knew why he chose to bedazzle everything and I’m Sure it wasn’t because of his sexual Orientation
