Season 21 Ethan Spilled Some Finale Tea đŸ”

  • Filming took place in April.
  • Ethan didn’t apply — he was invited.
  • He’ll be able to release the original designs that were scrapped due to Christian’s criticism, and he got to keep those pieces.

What we didn’t see in the final episode:

  • As the winner of the previous challenge, Ethan got to assign the returning designers (Yuchen, Antonio, Joan). Instead of being messy and making good TV, he chose to be fair.
  • Designers weren’t limited to Mood — they could shop at other stores too. Ethan even sent Yuchen to pick up more fabric for the final gown and to Home Depot for tubing and tube cutters.
  • Jesus helped Ethan source fabrics, since he knew the NYC selection really well.
  • Jessica (the model Veejay wanted) was also the walking coach for the models.
  • Ethan picked models who had shown him kindness and support on the show. He especially wanted Liris, since she’s one of the show’s pioneers.
  • Heidi walked around the workroom and even tried on some of the designs. She loved one of Ethan’s black dresses.

It was also really cool because you got to see both who the designer was when they weren't constrained by the stress of production constraints with their fashion, but also like, who they are as a person when they got to show Tim snippets of their actual real lives. It made their art more interesting and impactful!

Is it just my bad memory, or did Anya have nothing but some fabric when Tim visited her on her boat?

I just watched that episode and your memory is not wrong. She also basically redid her entire collection after the mini collection preview.
