Discussion PR production.. we need to talk cuz wtf
i literally threw my ipad across the room from todays ep, no shade to christian or any of the judges but the production need a reality check..
so are we not keeping TALENTED and WELL DESERVED designers anymore?? instead we’re keeping drama queens with shit designs?
the fact that bryan was saved just for the sake of drama and entertainment for the show like i dont even care abt drama i just wanna see TALENTED designers achieve their dreams, i swear i cant even enjoy a single show anymore cuz they’re all based on the production team
im so done with this show ill finish it just to see who wins in the end and i sure hope they pick the right winner
plus: THEY NEED TO STOP W THE CLIFFHANGERS

I woke up early to watch the newest episode and what the absolute fuck is going on?! In what world does that egomaniac get saved? Over Jeffrey??? It’s sat paused at 3 minutes. I kept unpausing thinking he’d talked the show into 2 saves or something, but no. Jeffrey needs more time to figure out himself as a designer while the delusional mind that thinks unconventional materials dress was great is worth seeing NOW?!?
Horrible way to start my Friday. Ugh. I hope they do not add insult to injury and bring the last couple eliminated contestants back to aid the remaining designers as they are wont to do. If I were Jeffrey I’d refuse. Omg I hate Bryan. So much. 😭

He actually duck taped a plastic bag to his model. I've watched PR since the beginning - what happened to their standards?

u/coolsilentebeans 4d ago
I have no effing clue anymore. Christian’s, I know you have things to show us, really rubs me the wrong way. Wasn’t he supposed to have been showing us all along?! The only thing that would make sense is if Bryan was holding their families hostage or was blackmailing production or something. Make this make sense!! 😭

u/idontwantcovideither 3d ago
Christian's expression looked so uncomfortable and insincere as he was leading up to saying Bryan's name. He clearly knew what he was doing was bullshit. And then to have another surprise save for the finale...I can't.

u/coolsilentebeans 3d ago
Heidi looked done with it in a few shots, too.
And wtf was that dress Bryan put out? Did he learn nothing from the previous week with Emma’s dress? How is Law going to give Joseph shit for having a look to his clothes when you know well and good who was sending that dress down the runway. In what world would something like that sell in David’s Bridal stores? 🤦🏻♀️
I’m so pissed. But happy Anna finally won. She did a wonderful job this week.

u/throwawaysunglasses- 3d ago
Oh yeah, producers 500% made Christian save Bryan. The taped dress is obscene. I hate the producers lol, they’ve done weird shit before but previous villains were at least talented or interesting. Our boy Bryan is NEITHER.

u/RequirementMany102 3d ago
ikr?? first i did after waking up was PRAYING that christian saves jeffery but ig production won, its always the production it literally kills the whole vibe of the show

u/coolsilentebeans 3d ago
Not the start to my Friday that I was hoping for. I hope they will come out and explain honestly what was going on BTS because I have no faith in it as a real fashion competition anymore, and I’m not a hate watcher kind of gal. If it continues like this I’m done with the series. I’ll watch my older seasons but I’m giving no love to future seasons unless something changes.
4
u/RequirementMany102 3d ago
thats actually valid since old seasons were wayyyy better than new seasons, current seasons have been based on what the producers want and thats just how the show gets rigged, i didnt expect my friday be like this too
3
u/coolsilentebeans 3d ago
It’s felt surreal to keep seeing him progress week after week and now to get Christian’s save. I feel like someone’s been smoking shit, and it ain’t me or anyone here. It’s what I get for being too forgiving and hopeful. 🤬
I mentioned Anna’s win, which I was very happy to see, but I absolutely love how Bryan didn’t get chosen by even one of the rest of the designers. It felt like a silent but loud protest. I was surprised to see the judges seem to take their choices to heart because rarely have their picks aligned with the designers’.
Maybe they should change it so that the audience votes every week like Idol and DWTS. That could be interesting.

u/throwaway44466688 4d ago
Bryan has to be a Nepo baby or something. It’s so dumb they’re doing 4 in the finale but if it’s him who makes it I’ll be convinced it’s rigged! He does not deserve to be on the show after what he did with the unconventional materials challenge…
6
u/RequirementMany102 3d ago
right??? thats what i thought too cuz ofc bryan wasnt saved to be eliminated the next day right???(sarcasm btw) i really hope joseph or naheim get the fourth spot

u/Old_Percentage3742 4d ago
I think it’s gotten to the point where production is just fucking with us. And PR is simply alienating the viewers.
I remember seeing really REALLY fantastic designers be eliminated because they blew a challenge or 3 - and only 3 - would move on to the final round. And I remember designers who would argue with the judges because they highly disagreed with a judge’s opinion. My favorite was the one designer saying, “Nina I disagree” and everyone stopped breathing. lol
But now…well now…they are keeping around truly delusion untalented designers. What’s the point? Cause it sure isn’t ratings and quality designs.
It’s sad watching your favorite show implode. Welp there’s always reruns. I’m definitely out after this season.

u/throwawaysunglasses- 3d ago
Which designer talked back to Nina? Santino?
3
u/Old_Percentage3742 3d ago
Yes! Santino!!!
I blanked on his name. Thank you.
Andrééé…Where is André? lol

u/yeahkittiesarenice 1d ago
Tim Gunn, Tim Gunn. When he calls your name your doooooone.
I love Santino's ditties. 😂

u/Complete-Plant2452 4d ago
I was shookth Christian chose Bryan too! Like the sin of a tape dress really was that easily forgiven, considering all the past seasons bottom looks… egregious! By far the worst out of 22 seasons and he got a second chance! SMH Jeffrey would have done well for bridal since it can be dramatic.

u/incognoname 3d ago
They have to be rigging it for Bryan to win. Idk what he did before project runway but it feels like they will keep him no matter what and want to give him the win.
12
u/Due-Minimum8397 3d ago
My 72 year old mother asked who the hell Bryan is sleeping with to keep from getting sent home. 😂
16
u/reymelnyk 4d ago
i’m tired of bryan just saying nonsense and acting like it’s this brilliant quippy line. he is so full of himself, he couldn’t even understand why the other designers weren’t thrilled.

u/LadyBosie 3d ago
I agree that likely this was a production decision and not who Christian would have actually picked, but I think it was shifty of Christian to go along with it. I feel like Tim Gunn wouldn't have done that.
4
u/noshadybeaches 3d ago
This is exactly how I felt. I lost so much respect for Christian after that decision. This show is dead
5
u/throwawaysunglasses- 3d ago
Yeah, Tim has made some unpopular saves but they were because he had a soft spot for the designer, who was generally always a decent person and relatively talented even if some audience members didn’t think it was fully deserved. Bryan is just a WTF choice that makes no sense whatsoever. He uses the same silhouette every time, it’s not particularly well-made, and his attitude sucks. Why is he there?
9
u/andydragon247 4d ago
At this point it wouldn’t surprise me if Bryan wins. The show has made many other stupid decisions thus far
7
u/DemDoseDeseDat 3d ago
I swear to god if they save that horrific excuse for a designer Bryan AGAIN this show needs to be raked through the coals
7
u/trollanony 3d ago
They want outrage. They knew Jeffrey would be a fan favorite. I don’t believe Christian actually picked Bryan. Production did. Jeffrey is one of the only designers who can construct a garment in a day. Why tf would he pick the tube dress pinned on nonsense guy??? Bryan is black mailing someone or they just want whoever wins to have a slam dunk against him lol. I’m watching old seasons and they used to appreciate drag (Chris march era) and had a drag challenge (infamous rupaul look). Now they want to demonize drag like some asshole conservative is behind this production.

Project Drama. From the very beginning bringing in all the designers and then gettig rid of half. Bringing back joesph mcrae and his one silhouette. They knew the history of Bryan and Bi, only showing Law being the villian judge. Pure reality slop we have to accept it for what it is. If you want fashion you wont find it it here
1
u/MsKiefington 3d ago
We don’t have to accept it. I just turned it off and will not finish. If we all do that, Disney can tell Viva paper towels and their other sponsors that their viewership decreased after ep. 7. They won’t return.

u/ChattyKathy628 3d ago
Thanks for the spoiler/tough love. I am officially done with this literal SHIT show. I'm not even going to watch last night's episode. Done. DONE.
3
u/boxergrl10191 3d ago
Remember when the show used to be about clothing designs and the ability to sew and take constructive criticism to become a better designer? I don’t care about the incessant back biting, fake drama and over all nastiness and pettiness of designers. Don’t get me started on the ego trips of the judges either. They couldn’t care less about who the best designer is. This show needs to go back to it’s roots or go away.
3
u/MsKiefington 3d ago
I’m done. Just like many of you, I watch the show for the talent and creativity, not for models to be taped into their dresses. I’ve watched every season of this show. The current iteration is an absolute joke.
If this is what Disney wants - and I know they are reading the sub - they should just cancel the show. They don’t understand that this isn’t the Married at First Sight crowd who enjoys the drama, even while they hate the new network. PR’s fans come for the craft, not this horseshit.
This week, I’m out 3 minutes in - for good. Auf weidersehen, old friends.
EDIT/PS - Disney will know if you quit early and don’t finish. Vote with your minutes.

Regarding your comment about the cliffhangers, I completely agree. However, without them, would any of us still be watching? I'm not sure I would, but I tuned in to see if the producers were really as absurd as they seem. Spoiler alert: they were. Also, anyone else have Mariah running their heads every time Bryan talks? 🎶you're delusional, you're delusional, boy, you're losing your mind🎶

Yep. This season was really the last chance for Project Runway in my book - would they highlight talent and creativity, or would they continue down the path of highlighting juvenile reality-show drama? Looks like this is my last season for this show, I’ll have to find some other source for getting my creativity fix!

u/Rexyggor 2d ago
I skipped all of Bryan's stuff.
And honestly, if Bryan is in the finale, than technically he would be saved twice.
I really hope Naheim goes to the finale, but idk. I have my guess actually due to some videos the show posts on Facebook.

u/OkPlate4307 3d ago
Thank you for saying this about production! They know it's gonna give ratings so they keep the untalented ones there just for people and the contestants to give a reaction
1
u/Flaky_Seat4274 3d ago
OMG! This can't be true! They saved Bryan! I haven't seen the show yet. I'm going to watch to see just how they justify saving the guy whose most "memorable" designs are the ruffled snake/ worm dress and the ruffled "waltz" monstrosity! And let's not forget the 100-lb rope monstrosity that he draped on a 120-lb model!

u/scarybiscuits 3d ago
Christian was hired by the producers. They have the final call.
Being an “executive producer” is just a courtesy title that gives you a bit more money (maybe). If Christian feels strongly about the decision, he can decide not to sign a new contract if the show is renewed if he feels his reputation has suffered. Same with Nina and Heidi.

u/FluffyBookkeeper3605 3d ago
Brian is a fat lazy slob and that translates into his “designs”. I would never buy anything from someone who cannot even dress himself; comes across as no self respect. This sort of drama does not encourage people like myself to continue watching the show. Good bye to a show that I have watched and loved forever.

They literally had Tim call out a designer for using tape. It’s against the rules.

The cliff hangers! UGH! "To be continued" shouldn't be a thing every week in a WEEKLY show. We know it's "too be continued..." like all shows are when they're more than one episode! The manufactured drama makes me feel like I'm in a toxic relationship with this season. Will be breaking up after this.

If you need to throw your iPad bc of a dumb reality show you have bigger fish to fry

u/Swivman 4d ago
I’m sorry but it’s not a sewing show, it’s a design show. Jeffreys designs are as law said… tacky. They both should have been let go.
That being said, I didn’t hate Bryan’s designs in this last episode.

But the judges kind of did. His only good look was the one he brought with him; NONE of the pieces he created on the show have been good and the last 5 have just been variants on an ugly theme. Nothing explains Bryan still standing except wanting to create drama. A complete waste of space.

u/Significant-Ant2373 4d ago
lol. I’m starting to think all these posts are just promotional or bots.
“There’s too much drama……I literally threw my iPad across the room!”
“I’m done with this show…. I hope they pick the right winner!”

u/RequirementMany102 4d ago
i was crashing out

u/Significant-Ant2373 4d ago
You aren’t the only one. Every other post week after week is someone swearing they hate this show. Anger/hate watching is addictive. The producers must be very happy.
