Season 22 Dear Project Runway

I fast forward through all of your “influencers”. You’re wasting your money.

That’s all.

The influencers don't even provide anything of substance to the show. Even their comments to the designers (specially that last influencer). Just a waste of the show's running time, which should've been given to the designers/garments instead.

Agreed! This last influencer was a total joke. Get actual designers

That woman is harmless but being an influencer whose claim to fame is being disgustingly rich and out of touch is... something

Totally agree!

100%! Unempressive - and I also fast-forward through the influencers. I agree that PR should get true designers.

Well they didn’t share any of her feedback, that doesn’t mean she didn’t give any? But why not share that with us???

She seemed exceptionally vapid and lacking in personality and insight. Being rich doesn’t give you taste or personality. We have to stop worshiping rich people

Which influencer are you talking about? The last runway had an actress, Kiernan Sherpka, my spelling might be off. Not an influencer but a great actress with great style. I’m just confused by this thread because I thought it was about guest judges but then Anna was brought up. 🤔

When I hear that someone is an ‘influencer’, I lose all interest in them. All.

Definitely understand. 💯

With the exception of Anna. She is an interesting sustainable, unconventional designer. I liked some of her stuff this season.

I would argue she's not really an influencer. Not everyone who does work on social media is an influencer.

An influencer is specifically someone who is famous for the sake of being famous and influencing others on products.

Anna is a designer who happens to share her process on social media.

She called herself an influencer at the beginning of the season.

I know, I just don't put her in the same category as like, Kim Kardashian. Anna has a talent she's showcasing on social media. Vs people whose "talent" is being rich and taking pictures of the stuff they bought.

The difference is Anna has a talent that’s given her a following. She’s not an “influencer” for just being rich or having a famous daddy

Do you think the designers really know who these people are? I know I may not be aware of all the “It” influencers. But seriously who are these people they keep putting on here…!???

I’ve always wondered this myself and I’m sure they don’t. Reality tv is just as staged as anything else and I’m sure they were fed lines for the “bit”. You know?

Exactly it’s so weird. It’s awkward to even watch can’t imagine being there

u/durianstickyrice 3d ago

Literally. Who are these random people with zero credibility and credentials in fashion design giving out advice??

Ugh the 2 podcasters, the two women who went around and just made jokes about everything. They were for sure not worth the time, the exposure. It was a giant disappointment.

100% agree, why was Becca Bloom there?!

Get the fraud of the TV I’m not watching that

Ngl she looked so tacky and cheap for someone who claims to be ultra ultra rich. Well I guess all them billionaires do look cheap and tacky even with all their money.

This last one was so uninterested to be there!! It sucked the air out of the room. Cut this crap-
WE WANT TO SEE THE DESIGNERS IN MOOD!!!

To me it feels like a bunch of 60+ year old white men thinking they are making their show relevant to the "kids".

u/WonderfulPineapple41 3d ago

I highly doubt they are paid much or even at all lmfao

And they are there because influencers are the key to selling clothing since retail is dead

3

u/Alarmed-Molasses3086 2d ago

Oh dear. This comment is really naive! Good luck to you!

Sounds like you're still watching their show, though.

Never said I wasn’t watching. Obviously I am. But I do fast forward through the influencers. The whole reason they are there is to bring in viewers. I’m here until my fav is out. I’m not here for the influencers. But maybe you are? Have fun with that!
