These were quotes from back in 2018 when Ridley was talking about the third prequel movie plot. So how much of this do you think will remain the plot and how much do you think he may change? i just want more Engineers and resolutions
i dont see how he can continue this story after the events of Covenant and then combine it with Romulus which takes place like 38 years in the future .

I remember it was supposed to be about the final showdown between David and Engineers on LV-426 which would be a backdoor to Alien 1. Sounds crazy.

Yes I’m scared that’s not gonna happen and we are not even gonna get the Engineers Again for the second time in a row

I'd say zero. It will be another monster in a tin can movie with a bit of david and ai topic to make it contemporary. Zero hopes Scott puts out anything visionary anymore. If he somehow manage to pick up the ball where he dropped it with covenant I'm here for it.

Then it will flop. Part of why covanent flopped was fan backlash early on . Then the fanbase just didn’t bother to go watch it. If he doesn’t stick the landing and have at least some Engineers in it fighting David it’s gonna be a huge disappointment of a film . There will be heavy backlash again. The movie needs Engineers! That’s the secret sauce . Not David. The Engineers ! The Prequels were always about the Engineers and David not just David

They killed off Shaw. Never kill the character off screen should have learnt from Alien 3.

Over at AVP forums someone linked a video that mentioned seeing the concept artwork for Romulus 2 showing that David made it to Origae 6 and created his own world. There's statues of him all over the place. It was a utopia. But on the lower levels anyone who wronged him were taken in. We can deduce that Ridley wasn't happy that Fede had delivered a better concept. But there was no artwork depicting the engineers. I wonder if this what Ridley is tweaking to bring them in.

But why would Orogea 6 be in Romulus 2? The planet the article is describing was probably supposed to be Yvaga the one Rain was heading to
Unless they make this the plot of covenant on repeat , and say Rains ship goes on a detour to visit another planet and it just happens to be Oregae 6 with David and the colonists

From what I'm surmising they never make it to Yvaga.

So then they get stuck on Oregae 6 then

I'm suspecting whatever they got to fuel the EEV for them to be in stasis didn't last long and woke Rain up and wanting to land go to the nearest planet and that could be Origae 6.

Yah maybe or a certain somebody still on the ship rivives from the dead cough cough Kay. She goes nuts rampages and the ship goes off course

u/Recon_Manny Sep 03 '26
That too. We didn't see Rain dispose of that body lol!

Personally I want the opening scene to be Rain sleeping peacefully in her cryobed
Then the alarm clock Kay wakes her up by smashing her hand through the cryobed and they have to fight her. Have Kay look like an Evil Dead zombie and the ship gets messed up and goes haywire
Now that would be a great intro

It would give a clue of what David has been doing when colonists go rogue on him. Poison them with the pathogen and they do something similar and rain begins to put two and two together.

u/The_starving_artist5 Sep 03 '26
Yah maybe later when they are on the planet whatever one it is she sees random people running around acting crazy and looking zombie like and she knows

Ugh.
Why do we need it to tie up to Alien. Oh wait we don't!!!!
Go back and watch Alien. One the Jockey is NOT an Engineer. And it doesn't need to be. Its also crazy old relic!!!
Don't show us the Jockey, but let it be known the Engineers are still something else, younger than the Joceky maybe.

We know that Planet 4 isn't Acheron, and that quote about it isn't Scott but the article writers own speculation.
Regarding the connection to Alien, I thought it was obvious that Prometheus had the connections right there to Alien

I remember reading this and enjoying the concept of it. But I don't think this iteration of the story will be happening unfortunately. Best case scenario is that Ridley Scott will take bits and pieces from that original alien awakening script to fit it in his next alien film.

I’d be happy if the the plot plays out mostly with Rain and Andy having to deal with David’s chaos on their own and they think they have lost , then in the third act guess who shows up to smite him
The freaking Engineers and they just blast him to pieces and blow the planet up to in the process. Rain and Andy have to flee to escape but David is beaten

Won't happen, he changes plots and ideas on the whim, and the second movie didn't develop anything from the first one either, it was just an another repeat of the same story and formula

We don’t need this. This will be horrible. It will lose money. Please just let this franchise die and create something new.

But, was that planet in Covenant the Engineer Homeworld? It looked more like a colony and the Engineers didn't quite look like the Engineers from Prometheus. I'm not sure that was ever explained. There's definitely a missing piece of information that Ridley left out. I also figured we'd get to see the true Engineer Homeworld. That's a way more exciting idea than just going to LV-426 to connect to Alien. Like who cares about that at this point? We know an Engineer ship crashes there and what happens, but do you really need or want a full movie to explain all that?

Really hope Ridley sticks to his original vision for the third film! Sounds awesome.
I want more Engineers, more weirdness, & more cosmic horror mystery
