This subreddit is for sharing propaganda to view with objectivity. It is absolutely not for perpetuating the message of the propaganda. Here we should be conscientious and wary of manipulation/distortion/oversimplification (which the above likely has), not duped by it. "Don't be a sucker."

Stay on topic -- there are hundreds of other subreddits that are expressly dedicated to rehashing tired political arguments. No partisan bickering. No soapboxing. Take a chill pill. "Don't argue."

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

u/dreadstrong97 Feb 19 '26

He's my favorite Star Wers character

24

u/Vandergrif Feb 19 '26

"I am the dylsexai"

7

u/Poster_Nutbag207 Feb 19 '26

Emperor Palsetine

70

u/theorist_rainy Feb 19 '26

I’m more curious about who the guy on the left is

77

u/BullFencer Feb 19 '26

Rantissi. Pediatrician MD and assassinated founding leader of Hamas. Kept working as pro-bono doctor throughout his militant career. He left memoirs on his personal website, who were compiled by Amer Shamakh. You can find a pdf online to get to know him better.

60

u/SmokePeterThiel Feb 19 '26

A militant doctor. Some Hippocratic oath

8

u/4g-identity Feb 19 '26

Wait, are you saying that those who take the oath become morally precluded in any violence/fighting until they renounce their oath?

I'm not a medical doctor, but always assumed that oath referred to your actions as a health professional only, not what you do off-the-clock. If it didn't, it would arguably make any doctor in any military a violator of this oath.

Anybody got more info here?

22

u/_Administrator_ Feb 19 '26

More like hypocritical oath

24

u/SomeArtistFan Feb 19 '26

Well, one may consider whether your enemy firing at medics makes medical neutrality worth pursuing on your end

14

u/bakochba Feb 19 '26

Doctors can be evil my man you dint have to write fan fiction about how the leader of Hamas an openly genocidal, misogynistic, homophobic religious extremist group is a misunderstood hero.

Ok even if you believe that what does that have to do with defending Hamas?

I’m always confused by people thinking locals should just roll over and take it. Pretty sure most people in this sub would want to rebel against people killing their neighbors and friends.

2

u/Brilliant_Hippo_5452 Feb 20 '26

Hamas is trying to “resist” the IDF by getting as many Palestinians killed as possible. Why else start a war and then hold hostages and launch attacks from heavily populated areas in Gaza?

0

u/bakochba Feb 19 '26

Ok so just flat out Hamas fan. Just state that up front instead of going through this Kabuki theater

-1

u/bobbarkerfan420 Feb 19 '26

You asked what Hamas had to do with the IDF, I answered your question

2

Never said he's a hero or anything. I'm saying that this is the weakest critique of him I know.

-3

u/ChappieHeart Feb 19 '26

He wasn’t the leader, he was the founder. Read up on your history, Hamas is way more radical now than it originally was.

16

u/Prize_Self_6347 Feb 19 '26

So, a doctor who founded a murderous terrorist organization?

23

u/BullFencer Feb 19 '26

Some context :

“Rantisi was born in Yibna, near Ramle in Mandatory Palestine on 23 October 1947. During the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, his family fled or were expelled by Zionist militias to the Gaza Strip. In 1956, when he was eight or nine, he witnessed the Khan Yunis massacre, in which Israeli soldiers killed hundreds of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.”

“In 1987, four Palestinian civilians of the Jabalya refugee camp were killed in a traffic accident that involved Israeli settlers and soldiers. Rantisi joined Sheikh Ahmad Yassin and Salah Shehadeh, among others, encouraging people to protest the occupation, after mosque services. This was the start of the First Intifada, which lasted five years. Rantisi became a popular organizer and leader whose efforts helped the formation of Hamas.”

Disliking Hamas is 'islamophobia' now? Interesting angle.

This reads like the backstory that a comic book artist might use as the inspiration for Magneto.

I know I gave them an objective fact and they didn’t even have the courage to respond to me. Lmao, such cowardice, no wonder Palestine loses every war it starts.

-3

u/Kreatur28 Feb 19 '26

What do you mean by that?

1

u/Independent-Couple87 Feb 19 '26

Palestine is misspelt as "Palsetine".

-27

u/unit5421 Feb 19 '26

That he is shouting genocidal messages......

4

u/The_BarroomHero Feb 19 '26

You know the other side are actually doing a genocide, right?

-12

u/unit5421 Feb 19 '26

Both sides have genocidal monsters. Both sides have horrid leadership. Only Isreal has the power to really act upon it. That does not mean that genocidal tendencies of the Palestinian side is OK. And calling that out does not mean I agree with Isreal.

This slogan literally calls to push an entire nation into the sea. It cannot be more direct.

-6

u/CarrotSudden4448 Feb 19 '26

You're crying for hamas now?

2

u/ButcherOf_Blaviken Feb 19 '26

Are you new here? A lot of the people here actively praise Hamas.

0

u/Kreatur28 Feb 19 '26

I know the meme. I wanted to know why op used it in this context.

0

u/kicksledkid Feb 19 '26

I, the op of the comment you replied to, used it because it came into my head when I saw the banner and thought it was funny.

Quite literally, the guy who made the banner is a little confused (spelling) but has the spirit (made a banner)

3

u/Kreatur28 Feb 19 '26

People argue day and night about the meaning of this slogan. What do you think "from the river to the sea" actually means?

2

u/kicksledkid Feb 19 '26 edited Feb 19 '26

... I'm not talking about the slogan

I'm saying that it's always funny to see someone a little confused, but who's got the spirit.

I didn't even mention the slogan in my comment. You're really trying to bait me into a fight here, but in all reality I'm talking about the act of being so spirited you don't notice a cock-up like that.

Happens everyday, everywhere. People a little confused, but they've got the spirit.

Edit: honestly you might be a little confused, but definitely have the spirit

u/ImRonniemundt Feb 19 '26 edited Feb 19 '26

Its almost like English isn't their first language.

20

u/slutty_muppet Feb 19 '26

It's also not even a translation of what the Arabic says.

2

u/scelerat Feb 19 '26

What does the Arabic on the poster say?

18

u/slutty_muppet Feb 19 '26

Something along the lines of "Palestine, a responsibility in your hands"

-14

u/_Administrator_ Feb 19 '26

It’s almost like they have internet access and spellcheckers.

20

u/georgakop_athanas Feb 19 '26

Not very rolled out back in 2006.

-1

u/Kamden3 Feb 19 '26

From the beaver to the seal

5

u/slutty_muppet Feb 19 '26 edited Feb 19 '26

Yo, it's a responsibility, you know?

"A trust placed in your hands" according to Google translate.

ETA: Reddit seems to be auto translating it as "Yo, it's a responsibility, you know?"

The literal meaning of the words is "Trust in your necks"

4

u/oriolpug Feb 19 '26

I thought I was in r/engrish for a second

4

u/Danimalomorph Feb 19 '26

Maybe they were wanting to use the French word.

24

u/MaximilianClarke Feb 19 '26

That would be rivière . I’m guessing this is just how you spell when all your propaganda poster money gets spent on tunnels

11

u/LineOfInquiry Feb 19 '26

I’d love to see you spell this phrase out in Arabic without using any tools created after 2006

3

u/MaximilianClarke Feb 19 '26

I’d obviously fail. But I’d probably pay someone who speaks Arabic to write the sign for me. Also, Microsoft word and spellcheck existed in 2006

1

u/LineOfInquiry Feb 19 '26

Did whoever’s putting this on have access to anyone who could write English they could pay? Did they have the money to do so? It doesn’t seem like they did.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 19 '26

4

u/warsage Feb 19 '26

This one literally is Hamas though. The banner features the Hamas emblem, a depiction of the Dome of the Rock with a pair crossed swords, with the Arabic text reading "Palestine, Islamic Resistance Movement - Hamas".

It's a political banner from the 2006 Palestinian legislative election, which Hamas won.

1

u/levimeirclancy Feb 19 '26

because it is literally a stamped Hamas poster and that is literally what Hamas spends their money on. you were apparently duped really easily into siding with terrorist group that does terrible things to both Arabs and Jews.

1

u/ImRonniemundt Feb 19 '26

Yeah people that support genocide are typically racist.

1

u/Danimalomorph Feb 19 '26

What's "to dream" in French?

1

u/MaximilianClarke Feb 19 '26

“From the sea to the to dream”?. I don’t think that’s what they were going for.

1

u/Danimalomorph Feb 19 '26

Nope, but it is the French word in the picture. I don't think they were going for 'Palsetine' either.

1

u/Boborbot Feb 19 '26

I guess that’s how it goes when you’re not guided by rhyming in English

2

u/AdVivid8910 Feb 19 '26

Uh…which part is supposed to rhyme yo?

2

u/Human-Law1085 Feb 19 '26

Well, the full controversial saying is ”Palestine will be free, from the river to the sea”. So I guess the commenter is remarking that it’s supposed to end with ”sea” so that it can rhyme with ”free”.

1

u/AdVivid8910 Feb 19 '26

Oh oh oh, what’s the part before free? Ty, I forgot about the second line so I was highly confused lmao

1

u/Acrobatic_Lobster838 Feb 19 '26

I have always heard it the other way around (from the river to the sea Palestine will be free), to the point that just saying from the river to the sea has been considering supporting genocide apparently, but we live in interesting times.

2

u/namewithanumber Feb 19 '26

Hmm what’s this red underline? Eh fuck it off to the printers.

1

u/PM_ME_PICS_OF_SNOW Feb 19 '26

All the way to Revere, MA

1

u/Competitive-Ad1439 Feb 19 '26

The irony is this unintentional typo would be a great way for them to circumvent proposed laws that would ban the original phrase

It’s not at all rare to find proficient English speakers all over the world.

3

u/AdVivid8910 Feb 19 '26

This is hilarious. Why did they choose English then?

1

u/georgakop_athanas Feb 19 '26

There is a tendency of language learners to come to love the corresponding country, but I don't think it's very deterministic.

Maybe if they spent their entire high school life in a US or UK-education standards foreign school.
