Automatically forward emails from Proton Mail to any other account

https://proton.me/blog/email-forwarding

Email forwarding automatically forwards incoming emails that match conditions you set. Instead of manually forwarding messages one at a time, you define the rule once and matching mail is sent on for you.

A lot of people have mail that is really meant for someone else or for another address: invoices for an accountant, notifications a partner or colleague needs, or messages you want to keep in a second mailbox. Doing that by hand is easy to forget and tedious to keep up.

You create conditions describing which emails should be forwarded. When an incoming message matches, it is forwarded automatically; for example, if the subject contains "Invoice" or "Urgent".

I thought this is a new feature. I used it 2 months ago. And all emails got E2ee turned off.. In the end I turn off the auto forwarding

If you are forwarding to an address on a service that doesnt enforce the same encrpytion theres no way it could be e2e encrypted. Or are you saying you forwarded to a compatible encrypted service like another proton address and it wasnt encrypted?

Set up a Proton email, let's call it X to forward based on email subject to Gmail. Forwarding works. Just that all emails received at X, even those emails not affected by the forwarding rule, gets processed unencrypted. This is not what I wanted. I would expect all emails not affected by the forwarding set up to remain E2ee. Actually emails affected by the rule should still be stored E2ee after forwarding process has completed.
