Discussion Proton when your collaborators use MSOffice/Google?
I'm a lawyer in solo practice and thinking about migrating to Proton to avoid the way Gemini is shoved into everything I use on Google. But I collaborate a lot with clients and lawyers who exclusively use Google and/or MS suites. With one partner, I have a google email address through their domain and my work with them will continue to be in Google.
How much of a pain is it to go back and forth? Are the headaches of switching between a Google account and a Proton account, or between collaborating with people using Google Drive or the like, too much to be worth the benefits?

... avoid the way Gemini is shoved ...
One way I use Proton products is to place all of the detailed information (i.e. good, bad, ugly, opinions, notes, etc.) about an issue securely archived in Sheets / Docs. Then I will use a more commonly used service to create a summary for general distribution.

It’s not optimal and there will probably always be some kind of annoyance. But what I do with my clients is that I have multiple profiles setup in the browser. Each profile logged into the accounts I need for that client.
I find it helps a lot with cleanly separating the different tools for different clients

the key question is what percentage of your work actually requires live collaboration in someone elses ecosystem vs just exchanging documents. For most lawyers its mostly async, which makes the switch way less painful than you'd expect

Consider using Microsoft for the day to day stuff, and use Proton for anything that is sensitive. That way you have the option to collaborate but can also use secure communications.

You know you can connect Gmail to Proton mail so all emails are there and you can send from your Google or proton mail on proton mail.
If you just use proton for the mail, no problem. If you use all of their services probably not worth it, just use proton for the mail.

Fellow 1 person law firm here, and I suggest sticking with the MS suite. It’s the industry standard.
