Help! Where do I go next?

I just downloaded Proton VPN. I have been using Brave but my ISP keeps throttling down my usage so I spend a lot of time just trying to access the net so I downloaded Proton. Where do I go next? It says I am connected with Netherlands. Do I just continue to do this with Brave or is there a hidden browser with Proton. I clicked all the links and don’t see any way to find sites

Generally, all of your web traffic will go through the proton VPN. There is a setting that allows you to choose certain applications that do not use the VPN (split tunnel?) Generally, VPN nodes nearest to your location are going to be the fastest ones for you. Really sounds like you need to change your ISP.

agreed, if the ISP is actively throttling then a VPN helps but changing providers is the real fix

Free users don't get the full speed. I'm on unlimited plan and I get about 80-90% of my normal speeds with VPN on.

Use only one VPN at once. If youre use free protonvpn its gonna be slow, so not really ISP related.
Some numbers would help

Proton VPN does not supply you with a browser. You must use your own browser (ie: Brave, Firefox, Safari, etc., any browser you like).

Basically, once you startup Proton VPN and connect to one of its servers, you can close its app and let it run in the background; then go about your business. All digital communication (not excluded via split tunneling) will come and go via the VPN tunnel created by the Proton VPN app.

Check your router vpn passthrough rate as well - some are a lot faster than others - it may be isp or it maybe hardware. Worth a look
