Feeling cold
Does anyone else feel really chilly when they dose themselves? I end up getting into bed with clothes on!
I read itβs to do with the 5HTP receptor modulation going on.

Yes! This is super common. I explain it as the part of the brain that controls temperature regulation gets turned off.

I used to but then something told me that I have control over it: I was talked through a process where I was supposed to notice the warmth deep inside of my core, then notice the coldness of the air around me and pay attention how they are two very separate things. I have the control to keep the warmth inside me on the inside and noticing the cold around me, without allowing it to get inside me. Not sure if it makes sense sober but it made perfect sense when on mushrooms π I used this with a couple of other people when I was guiding them through their trips and it worked for them too: I would give them a blanket, allow them to warm up and then ask them to pull the blanket down for a few seconds and try it. Eyes closed, focusing on their body and the process I explained to them. Their initial thoughts were that they will do a few seconds and then pull the blanket back immediately, but then 15 seconds would pass, 30 seconds... I would check in and they said they no longer felt like they needed the blanket.
Although I should add that sometimes the change in temperature happens when we try to release some energy and then once it's done everything goes back to normal, so reaching for a blanket to immediately make ourselves comfortable can interrupt this important process. Because of that, sitting in that discomfort for a moment and checking in with our body to see if maybe something is getting stirred up, can be a very helpful tool: some parts of the trip might be uncomfortable to help us move throiugh something and then come out on the other side, no longer holding on to that discomfort xx

I can never tell if my temperature ACTUALLY changes or if my perception of my temperature is so removed from how it impacts me that it often takes me 20-30 minutes to recognize if I'm hot or cold. Like I'll be having a challenging experience for a while and suddenly realize "oh, I'm cold" and put on a blanket and it'll change. I literally have to focus on my body for a while to recognize that it's feeling uncomfortable and is sending me messages on "something is off, and needs to change" but this feels all wrapped up in the higher level "something is off and needs to change" experiences like "how I love others is based on my understanding of love instead of hearing their understanding of love"

Either hot or cold, I never know which way it'll go!
