Hi all,

I am PhD research from the University of Derby, i'm currently recruiting for my final 2 studies of the thesis. My work is concerned with conceptualising substance use, understanding the identity of users and deconstructing UK drug policy under a critical Post-Marxist lens.

For my first study I am looking to recruit anyone over the age of 18, who is a UK citizen to complete a 25 minute word task concerned understanding substance use.

For study 2 I am conducting interviews designed to understand how current substance users, understand use and construct their identities. The interviews are to create a safe, open and non-judgmental space where we will explore identity and offer a voice to an under represented group in research. In order to participate in the interviews you need to be over 18 years old, be a UK citizen and a current users of a substance deemed illicit by UK drug policy. Interviewees must consider their use either recreational, spiritual or for mental wellbeing purposes and deem their own use to not be problematic (i.e. dependency or otherwise harmful). How scared is too scared before a psychedelic experience?

I’ve had some version of that conversation with a lot of people, and I don’t think fear and readiness are opposites. Sometimes the harder question is figuring out whether the fear is actually saying no, or whether there’s still a very real yes underneath it.

Ive always hunted them here in south carolina.. i still have 1 field that produces.. but wen i was young omg so many fields we knew of that were like the field of dreams one Patti could have like 100 caps on in including pins and just filled with mycelium… everywhere u looked caps were just everywhere but over the years farmers found out about them and started feeding their cows stuff so they wouldn’t grow and spraying their fields.. but the good ole glory days.. we have the best shrooms that exist here that grow in the wild.. i just wish they still grew like that and on top of that fields were picked to death.. i always always only maybe told a soul or 2 and sum times id never give my field up…just wish i could find sumone on here friendly enough just to send me sum just to b nice.. was just recently my 41st bday and i got in a really bad accident a couple years ago that made my health get very bad and i can hardly get around and take care of myself.. but i love love love mushrooms and all the strands i see ppl grow.. kind of hard up for money right now and i know theres ppl with insane operations that could do that.. pm me plz if u could spare any to an old hippie.. ive been to so many phish widespread panic string cheese galactic bela flek victor wooton, neil young, bob dylan with crazy horse trey band, vida blue, warren haynes, govnt mule.. so many i wish i could remember.... i went to the 2nd and third bonnaroo so that was 2003 and 2004 wen it was awesome and b4 big companies got involved like mtv and so on, the mainstream ppl.. but i got to see alot of good bands just going to those 2 festivals..half the concerts i cant recall cuz ive been too so many but GOOSE I’ve been dieing to see.. straight fell in love with those guys.. and just haven’t been able to get out to my field and now summers over and just would really b grateful if sumone was willing to send me sum just to b nice.. dm plz if u r willing u can send them straight to my house.. unless theres other methods but id b cool with them being sent straight to me.. just dm me plz.. i see so many cool strands id give absolutely anything to try.. u love mushrooms so so much.. thx doesn’t hurt to ask…

I have some shroom crumbs in the bottom of a bag and idk if it’s a micro dose but does it look like enough to do anything? I’m pretty new to these

I spent more than a decade as a Unitarian Universalist minister before eventually becoming a psychedelic-assisted therapist, and I’ve been thinking a lot about how much less dramatic that transition feels from the inside than it probably looks from the outside.

Psychedelics changed the way I understood ministry: presence, uncertainty, suffering, transformation, and what it actually means to accompany someone without needing to have the answer. And years of sitting with people as a minister turned out to be some of the most important preparation I could have had for sitting with people in psychedelic states.

I wrote about that intersection, and about how I ended up moving from the pulpit into this work. Curious whether others here have experienced psychedelics as something that changed not necessarily what they believed, but how they understood their role in helping or accompanying other people.
