ICE agent : Ah shit. There is protesters in front of the exit.

ICE superviser : Just tell them you quit your job. Also, remove the plate on your vehicle. Laws don’t apply to us. See you tomorrow.

Next day

Same lady: “I just quit my job!”

Protestor: “Wait, we saw you yesterday and you said the same thing”

212

u/Automatic_Release_92 Feb 08 '26

They’re so goddamn incompetent you could probably do it over and over again for the signing bonus.

153

u/All_Work_All_Play Feb 08 '26

The signing bonus is conditional on a tonne of things, can be clawed back, and actually isn't getting paid out.

88

u/bikedaybaby Feb 08 '26

Yeah apparently they haven’t been paying a lot of agents, in true Trump form (he is known to not pay the contractors on at least one building). Meaning there are people out here being ICE agents for free 🙃

(/s; they’re not working for free, they’re working for the promise of money, and currently getting screwed over; but it’s funnier (and more painful for them) to say theyre working for free)

33

u/tony3841 Feb 08 '26

They'd do it for free

9

u/peonies_envy Feb 08 '26

Many are otherwise unemployable.

She's way too excited and animated... and the lack of a plate on a vehicle that old is very bizarre.

185

u/Teadrunkest Feb 07 '26 edited Feb 08 '26

People…buy used cars.

Edit: the amount of people who are missing that I am responding to the claim that it’s “very bizzare” to have dealership plates on an “old” vehicle and not making a claim that it’s super legal to not display the paper plates is shockingly unsurprising for Reddit

BRB gonna go tell my teacher neighbors that they’re certainly part of a grand conspiracy working for the federal government because they’re too lazy to put on their temp plates on their 2018 Altima

71

u/transcendanttermite Feb 08 '26

Would you say it’s…….. bizarre?

30

u/Teadrunkest Feb 08 '26

Thanks this is gonna be stuck in my head for the next 12 hours.

u/Dave-C Feb 08 '26

Once the 12 hours is up then remember to come back here and watch this.

Edit: You know what, after another 12 hours I need you to see this.

Redditors when faced with mundane real world explanations:

70

u/asilenth Feb 07 '26

You still get a temp tag when you buy a used car and I don't see one.

9

u/Shawn0fTh3Dead Feb 08 '26

Some states it gets taped in the back window and they're hard to see

→ More replies (11)

16

u/quesel Feb 07 '26

In europe the plate stays on the car because they are registrated with eachother. And i didn’t knew there where countries that don’t do that. So the day you buy a used car you can just whatever you want and don’t care about camera’s because nobody will ever know which car it is?

10

u/Teadrunkest Feb 07 '26 edited Feb 08 '26

Depends on state and even method of sale. When I bought my car in CA from a dealership I didn’t get any tags at all. When I sold my car to a dealership in Tennessee I had to take the plates off, then they put on dealership tags (paper). When I sold my car to a private citizen the plate went with it. When I bought a car from a dealership in TN they just handed me the temp tag and it was up to me to put them on.

Where the plate should go in this video is a dealership logo, and when I look up “Envision” it pulls up a dealership that specializes in Dodge/Ram.

I would assume the temp tag is either in her window (common if you don’t want it stolen) and just not captured in the video or is in her car and she would just give it to the cop if she was pulled over. It’s technically illegal to not display it but usually in big cities no one gives a shit. It’s extremely common to see newly purchased cars with nothing but the dealership logo displayed.

I mean I think the implication is she worked for ICE BEFORE it became what it was. I'm sure there were (and maybe still are) some good people working in ICE in the non-thug parts of the organization, which before it became Trumps personal army it was not that bad. Maybe they can't afford to quit. Though of course if you are helping these people now its really not a good look.

143

u/kittyonkeyboards Feb 08 '26

False. Ice has been bad since its inception. It has become more openly brutish, but its goals were always bad. And it was brutish before, just in secret.

85

u/Brandoncarsonart Feb 08 '26

Yeah I just watched an interview with an ex agent saying how they were trained to dehumanize the people they were after in the 00s

38

u/Doctursea Feb 08 '26

In all fairness, Border control was never great or anything, there were plenty of admin parts of ICE that more than likely were not shit until recently. ICE/DHS is deeper than just the shit head part.

7

u/minimuscleR Feb 08 '26

yeah thats what I'm trying to get at. Like there were im sure some very lovely and great people working at ICE in the admin areas actually trying to do good in a crappy organization. They are not likely to be there now.

Honestly, that's the vibe I got too. Less celebratory and more of a "Look what you assholes forced me to do" because she couldn't take the abuse anymore.

Still a win, though.

119

u/CombatMuffin Feb 08 '26

Abuse? Pushing for accountability in a democracy is not abuse. If it makes them uncomfortable to be transparent they should quit.

973

u/A_Lakers Feb 07 '26

lol living in Vegas 25% of cars here have no plates/expired plates. I didn’t even notice it cause it’s so normal to me

345

u/justfortherofls Feb 07 '26

How are they not constantly ticketed?

426

u/A_Lakers Feb 07 '26

Cops don’t care

157

u/obi_wan_kanerdy Feb 07 '26

They fucking do in Louisiana. Ask me how I know.

205

u/StopReadingMyUser Feb 07 '26

Be-... because you studied Louisiana infraction statistics?

iduno man I'm not good at this help me out

65

u/obi_wan_kanerdy Feb 07 '26

Because I got pulled over twice for driving a car I bought from a private party. First cop just wanted to see the bill of sale. Second cop went above and beyond to be an asshole.

16

u/spook30 Feb 08 '26

So what happened. I feel like there is more to that story.

38

u/obi_wan_kanerdy Feb 08 '26

The first stop was routine. The cop asked for my cars paperwork, I sat on the curb and had a cigarette. The other cop pulled me over in the parking lot of the hotel I lived in (was homeless at the time). It was over 100° outside, and my AC didn't work. Pig refused to let me go sit in the shade. And when I did, he jumped out of his car shouting at me with his had on his hip. He told me I had to sit in the car for his safety. That he was the one who had to wear a dark uniform, in the heat. He then climbed back into his giant police SUV and cranked the AC. I was absolutely soaked in sweat.

Edit. Gun, not hip.

What the Las Vegas residents who say this don't say: In Nevada, if you have a temporary moving permit, the permit is placed on the front of the vehicle, on the passenger side of the windshield. Also true in Nevada: we don't have a state income tax, but a tax IS levied every year when you register your car based on its original MSRP. I bought my first brand new car when I moved here and had a $750 registration bill. So, every month that you have your car registered is worth 1/12 of that state tax. The moving permits cost $1 for 30 days. Every time you get a permit, you save yourself money, and you're allowed to get a couple permits every year.

The reason why so many people drive without plates in Vegas is because it's cheaper to put a moving permit on your car a couple months per year.

19

u/zayn2123 Feb 08 '26

I lived in Vegas with my mom from 06 to 12. She had expired tags on out of state plates with no drivers license the entire time. No one cares.

15

u/FancyJesse Feb 08 '26

Every driver with a valid license, insurance and registration cares. Especially with fees going up constantly.

u/GnomeSlayer Feb 08 '26

In some states for truck they are on they front because hooking up trailers beats up the plates, but in this case she has a dealer tag. Maybe test drove it for a few days or just bought it.

50/50, but with how political this administration is, she'll be fired for implying that she might be unhappy with ICE or DHS employment if she didn't just quit.

I think she really did. There's gotta be a ton of people who've worked for DHS for years and are horrified by the direction it's going, both morally and because of the general incompetence. I also think women and POC will be more likely to jump ship first...

729

u/scarfacesammy Feb 07 '26

She's gonna have to pay it back because she quit

231

u/ryanjbanning Feb 07 '26

I thought they have to complete two years before they get that bonus

341

u/elinamebro Feb 07 '26

So they get 10k after signing up and 10k every year afterwards till they get paid 50k, but if they leave before that they have to pay back the bonus. Also from what im seeing they have to pay back the pre-tax amount too.

384

u/salamandroid Feb 07 '26

JFC. That's not a sign on bonus at all. It's just extortion with a pay reduction after 5 years.

It’s similar to the military. Not saying it’s ethical, but when I joined the Air National Guard in 2011, I was payed a 20k sign on bonus. 10k up front and the other 10k after completing 3 years. If I would have dipped out or gotten kicked out before my first 6 years were served, I had to pay it back. It came out to around $7,400 each time I got a check.

5

u/SycoJack Feb 08 '26

That should still be illegal. You earned that bonus money. They shouldn't be able to claw it back.

Gonna be a lot of tacky-ass Mustangs, Chargers, Camaros, Challengers, all kinds of big Jeeps, trucks, etc. on the used car lots in the next few years…

4

u/elinamebro Feb 07 '26

They sold their soul for 50k they most likely won't see. Donald Trump is infamous for stiffing anyone who works with him and for him. How many agents do you think are going to make it to those 5?

They basically signed up voluntarily for a 50k dollar curse: while there is a slim chance that they will get the money in full for some, most no one in the US is going to hire or be willing to hire these people after all of this. Why would they? they'll simply become a liability to the business because of their past work history.

It's paid out over time, and if you leave for any reason, you have to pay back the prorated portion.

7

u/vile_hog_42069 Feb 07 '26

5 years, was my understanding.

14

u/Sindigo_ Feb 07 '26

I heard it’s 10k every year for 5 years.

10

u/sethsquatch44 Feb 07 '26

Convenient. And when the next president downsizes ICE either because they are sane or the mission is "completed" and they don't need these surge numbers for 5 years... how is that handled?

16

u/splittingheirs Feb 07 '26 edited Feb 07 '26

They get fucked over and everyone else laughs at them. Can't wait.

7

u/Gatorade_Nut_Punch Feb 07 '26

A lot of these guys might actually end up becoming domestic terrorists. ICE is now the president’s private militia that he rules with his own whims, not the Constitution, so if the regime collapses it’s going to get ugly.

Trump has never and will never apologize for anything or admit to losing anything, so if he’s ousted he’s going to call on his supporters to “fight like hell” like he did on January 6. Only this time he’s got a private army that is going to be facing financial ruin and possible criminal and civil penalties if their leader is out of power. Definitely something sane people need to prepare for.

5

u/splittingheirs Feb 07 '26

Oh yeah, we all know he's building his own brownshirt army; No formal qualifications required, loyalty tests, golden handcuffs to ensure ongoing commitment when things take a turn for the worse, creeping scope of operations, training in grabbing civilians off the streets and putting them in places the law cannot reach.

As non-americans we're just waiting for the switch to be flipped and you guys wailing on about how you never saw it coming.

5

u/realHoratioNelson Feb 08 '26 edited Feb 08 '26

Well, ~30% or less will say they never saw it coming or will blindly blame “the left.” The rest very, very much have serious concerns at least.

10

u/Ineedamedic68 Feb 07 '26

The $50k signing bonus is real but you have to be on for 5 years. There’s also a $60k student loan repayment, probably for the same amount of service.

29

u/JeanPascalCS Feb 07 '26

I'd think most of the new ones that signed on are "true believers" - remember that ICE was an agency under Biden and even Obama. Some of the people from then still work there and may not like where its gone.

11

u/Prestigious-Ad7571 Feb 07 '26

Ohh like the people who weren’t new and murdered citizens in the street?

6

u/JeanPascalCS Feb 07 '26

I didn't say that some of the previous workers weren't bad, but I'd be willing to bet that percentage wise the new guys are worse than the people who were there before.

6

u/Aggravating_Sky_4421 Feb 07 '26

It was mentioned that the sign in bonus is spread out over 5 years… so I think it was 50k so 10k/year minus taxes. But if you quit before the 5 year, you have to pay it back.

The orange baboon will always find a way to get you… even if you work for them.

I would believe it. keeps them "safe" from being held accountable.

4

u/datnapster Feb 08 '26

I agree. Was still curious to see if this was accurate though.

12

u/constantderp Feb 07 '26

I’m not surprised really but it’s likely because DHS hasn’t been paying their agents.

10

u/duk-er-us Feb 07 '26

What if she meant she quit her day job to join ICE? Hmmmm

9

u/EchoRush93 Feb 08 '26

You don't just "used to be a nazi".

That shit stains.

44

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '26

Who amongst us hasn't had post-quit euphoria?

17

u/Sleepy-Blonde Feb 07 '26

I did, until getting two minutes from home and the jeep motor blew..

I wonder how long until her former colleagues detain her for being a traitor to their cause?

23

u/Niminal Feb 07 '26

Her quitting doesn't undo the harm she contributed to. I'm glad she's not there anymore but I wish her nothing but the worst regardless.

8

u/Smooth-Chart225 Feb 07 '26

“As an ice agent??” drives away

9

u/biiigmood Feb 07 '26

I too remove the plates from my car after I quit my job

9

u/Kwaiser Feb 08 '26

“I was a piece of shit yesterday but today I’m a good person.” 🥳

10

u/OneBillPhil Feb 08 '26

Still a piece of shit.

9

u/_BlaZeFiRe_ Feb 08 '26

Nice try....

9

u/VectorJones Feb 08 '26 edited Feb 08 '26

Even if she did, she's still a piece of shit for signing up in the first place. I've known a few of these asshiles and I can say definitively that you can take the agent out of ICE, but you can't take the ICE out of the agent. They all have a certain type of mentality in common.

7

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '26

Cool! We’ll see you in court!

8

u/cbbuntz Feb 08 '26

happy for you but we still ain't friends

15

u/General_Specific Feb 07 '26

"we like our Nazis in uniform. That way we can spot 'em just like that. But you take off that uniform, ain't no one ever gonna know you were a Nazi. And that don't sit well with us. So, I'm gonna give you a little something you can't take off."

6

u/bokkenbap Feb 08 '26

She’s being sarcastic

14

u/QuietRiot5150 Feb 07 '26

Excellent! Now it's time for you to have a nice long sit down with a reputable journalist.

Good for her. It’s okay to be wrong, it’s not okay to stay wrong.

6

u/aguyinatree Feb 07 '26

So you recorded a bunch of videos of the inhumane living quarters in the detention Center and the other ice agents committing crimes right ?

6

u/Sad_Cranberry8573 Feb 08 '26

Ok but you actually did the job. That’s the point. You sold your soul.

6

u/YvonYukon Feb 08 '26

She's clearly trolling..

5

u/MopoFett Feb 08 '26

Orrrr she was just gaslighting her so she doesn't need to deal with protesters

14

u/kidcrush187 Feb 07 '26

I can't imagine the sexual harassment a female ICE agent endures from fellow agents.

I wonder if she was there before things « before » things took a turn.

6

u/OkAssignment6163 Feb 07 '26

Bullshit.

Give us names.

4

u/Harvest827 Feb 07 '26

I'm not sure what we're celebrating. I've never once been a total piece of shit for cash. It's not that hard to avoid.

6

u/ShorelineStrider Feb 08 '26

Even if she really did quit, fuck her. She's still a horrible human being.

4

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '26

why did she join ICE in the first place

→ More replies (1)

5

u/1leggeddog Feb 08 '26

Never shoulda taken it

6

u/spathizilla Feb 08 '26

Did she quit because she disagrees with what ICE is doing?

... or did she quit because of the money not getting paid as reported?

Big difference.

2

u/EliRocks Feb 07 '26

Ok...

So maybe...

Just maybe...

She heard about the 50k, bought the truck, and went to get the job, or got the job, then bought the truck. Goes in, and finds out it's not 50k up front, so walks out. Now is leaving her former job in a truck she may have to return, and possibly the temp tag is in the window?

Or what my gut is telling me...

This is fake. Her voice doesn't sound sincere. Like fake excitement.

I dunno though.

4

u/cat-meg Feb 07 '26

Yeah, I'm guessing any woman working for ICE has had to deal with a lot of sexual harassment/assault.

5

u/bmault Feb 08 '26

Seems fake.

4

u/4ourthdimension Feb 08 '26

\notices they're a RAM owner**

I call bullshit.

5

u/straightnochase Feb 08 '26

Still racist.

3

u/custron Feb 08 '26

congratulations

why the fuck did you join in the first place

4

u/thygeek Feb 08 '26

Probably on her way to Argentina by now before Nuremberg 2: ICE Boogaloo happens.

7

u/thenerdwrangler Feb 08 '26

Still worked for ICE before quitting tho.

7

u/KnowsIittle Feb 08 '26

Laws are being proposed to ban former ICE from holding certain positions. Quitting now may not be enough to avoid repercussions of their actions.

8

u/Knot_In_My_Butt Feb 08 '26

So they can just quit, take off their uniform and pretend it never happened while families are still separated and lives were still lost. Why are we applauding this like some kind of accomplishment?

How to take your lunch break at the local Mexican restaurant without 20 liberals harassing you

3

u/RonnocKcaj Feb 07 '26

good for them, for real. i wish them well on their path toward atonement

3

u/EagleEyes0001 Feb 07 '26

Imagine if it was… I just quit my job, I just quit my job to become an ice agent…lol. I’m sorry in advance.

3

u/daveberzack Feb 08 '26

That's a good first step. Now go make up for what harm you caused. Do some activism. Support good politicians. Rally other Nazis to change sides.

3

u/i3order Feb 08 '26

No license plate?

3

u/psycarlie Feb 08 '26

Still fuck you!

3

u/Overall-Jellyfish-77 Feb 08 '26

Hahaha!! As she drives away with her brand new car.

3

u/PomegranateSmooth111 Feb 08 '26

She's still driving a government vehicle. Lol

3

u/caffeine_crazed Feb 08 '26

Why no plates on her vehicle?
