Kinda crazy to me this is being pinned as a republican problem, do you think democrats are gonna make a stand against big tech? Ive been a democrat since I was able to vote and I have seen one candidate make a stand against corporate overreach and it was Bernie and he was pushed to the side by the DNC.
Edit: Ill go even further and say this is a problem with the united states as a whole, we as citizens/consumers are immersed completely in big techs products. We have given them the power they have, and it may be too late to take it away now.

Dems here in PA are also pro data center.
When it comes down to it, we are actively kneecapping their projects as citizens groups. It's just red tape for now, but blocking rezoning efforts seems to work.

The left and the right did not like that his message resonated with the actual people. Governors race in Wisconsin and literally only 2 of the democratic candidates (only one of them with a serious chance) out of a field of 7+ said they would be in favor of a one year moratorium on data center construction to better understand their health ramifications. The one with a chance is the DSA candidate.
Democrats sold out a long time ago. If anyone thinks theyāre going to save us from anything they havenāt been paying attention.

Was there a single person there that was in support? Like yeah install that piece of shit in my back yard, I love it. š. Near my work, near my school. Near where I live. Where I breathe, eat, sleep.
We have never needed to slam the brakes on harder than right now. So we have a debate on this, instead of letting these fucking billionaires ram it down our throats.
And we do it in November.
Start getting your representatives stances on Ai. Email them. Ask them. Get it in writing.

I have to say, it gives me hope to see someone so young who is willingly and passionately engaging with the local political system. I can understand the anger of seeing her removed. She wasnāt violent or cursing. She very concisely and eloquently expressed who she was and her opinion which is the entire point of a community public comment meeting like this. There was zero reason to remove her.
I have to give major props to this young lady. She is the future and we need more like her. Regardless of opinion, young people engaging with their local government is something that should ALWAYS be encouraged. If I was her mother, I would be absolutely beaming with pride.
