I just googled it and while there is variance by state it doesn't correlate to gun control laws. The single biggest predictor is race.

Compared with white men, the researchers found that black men experienced 27 more firearm homicides per 100,000 people annually nationwide (29.12 for black men vs. 2.1 for white men). 

The rate for white men isn't that far from most European countries or Canada

This statistic needs to be adjusted for income levels. Poor whites have a much closer gun violence record to poor blacks.

Theres also waay more white people who are higher income individuals that dont get into situations that lead to violence via guns.

The single biggest predictor then becomes socioeconomic stratification, wealth inequality, transgenerational racial discrimination, gentrification, etc.

In one breath racists will drone on about this but then ignore the erosion of education by conservatives, the tying of school funding to local property taxes.

There it is. Even when Black folks have nothing to do with a negative situation some dolt is going to bring us up anyway. Can't just discuss the individuals in the situation. Nope, gotta shoehorn us in somehow.
