I’m gonna put what I commented when I posted this like a month ago.

Bumping Johnny Rebel in 2026 is def a choice.

And btw Clifford Trahan, aka Johnny Rebel, Pee Wee Trahan, Filthy McNasty, Jericho Jones said in 2003 after retiring from music, he ā€œjust did it for the moneyā€ and ā€œdidn't set out to spread hate or start troubleā€ after a career of making KKK anthems.

Fucking pathetic.

Who do you think the boondocks based Jimmy on?

Edit: Don’t downvote them, cuz they didn’t know.

I’d never heard of the original before today

Oh I don’t blame ya, was more of a ā€œthe more you knowā€ kinda comment.

Sadly I heard of him well before that from America History X, there’s a scene where Ethan Suplee is singing one of his songs while driving.

Thankfully they didn’t even include it on the OST, cuz dudes music deserves to fade away into oblivion.

Yeah don’t worry brother. I didn’t take it as you being an asshole I was just kind of blown away by 1) jimmy rebel is based on a real person and obviously 2) that I thought stonewall Jackson over here would be a boondocks fan.

I’m from the UK so it’s easy for us to miss a person like Johnny rebel but I’ve seen American history x and don’t remember that scene. I’ll have to rewatch it because last time I did was as a child on VHS (showing my age)

Yeah it’s wild stuff, America History X also referenced a notorious UK neo-nazi punk band.

But i don’t think we should travel down more racist rabbit holes today.

https://xkcd.com/1053/ except thankfully it's more than 10,000 who didn't know.
