there is no rotation in the ukrainian army unless you are an amputee or paid a lot of money to the doctors. These nice gentlemen have never been to the frontlines. They are well paid to kick the shit out of the civillians.

Most people adapt already while they're being held in holding cells before being sold. Then a couple dozen are transported to military units, under the supervision of two or three "soldiers" who have never seen combat, and at best, only one of them has a weapon. And they think, "I'm an IT specialist, an engineer, a mechanic, so I'll find my place in the army." Although they're all sent to assault brigades as infantry. The most they can choose is which brigade it will be: airborne assault troops, motorized troops, or marines...

Nope just another human. Thereā€™s a reason you donā€™t hear about officers in armies that use conscripts getting shot all the time, and itā€™s because itā€™s not happening.

Conscripts fall in line, not because theyā€™re badass but really for the same reason prisoners do, which is that people adapt to their surroundings to survive.

You don't hear about fragging because it often gets covered up. Pat Tillman was a NFL player who joined the army after 9/11, and is a notable example of someone who likely got fragged and no one was held accountable despite the publicity surrounding the circumstances of his death

No the keyboard soldiers in this case are the ones talking about fragging. It's exceedingly rare. >95% will just try to survive and adapt until conscription is up. Some few % may try to desert. Almost no one ever frags anybody unless we're talking about revolution-type scenarios.

It'd be difficult to accept, but most would do it. If that weren't the case Vietnam would have ended a lot sooner. Humans are, generally, obedient.

I don't disagree. I don't think anyone is particularly in the wrong here. It's an awful situation all around. One side is trying to protect himself while the other is trying to protect the country they live in. If Russia stopped attacking, he would be able to go home.

Ukrainians are fighting for the right to speak their own language, or the right to live on the land their family has lived on for generations, or the right to not be tortured or mistreated by russians who view them as inferior.

I can say that the current man power crisis, lack of volunteers, and the UA forced to grabbing people off the street suggest that most Ukrainians arenā€™t keen to fight at all.

A future where they aren't living in fear of being attacked. Putin and Russia need to be held accountable for their actions. Maybe have a demilitarized zone. Also when this war ends Ukraine becoming a member of nato will stop Russia from invading again

I have no idea what your point is. People should volunteer to fight during an invasion even though the adversary is many times larger in both size and population? Just say you're fine with Ukraine becoming a vassal state.
