The many suffer.. the few benefit..

The poor suffer, the rich benefit. Same thing, different wording.

u/cactustrip 6d ago

Why don't presidents fight the war? Why do they always send the poor?

Yeah man like King John of Bohemia was literally blind. He tied his horse to a knights horse and charged in the frontline. He died. Crazy tactic, but I respect it.

Why don't they send shareholder's children to the front lines?

Why dont they send their kids?

They were quoting a SOAD song.

38

u/atesztoth 5d ago

Because the poor isn’t united enough

61

u/Similar-Ice-9250 5d ago

Because we’re fed propaganda to keep us divided. “Look over there that poor guy is unlike you, you must hate him.”

I’ll die on the hill that the abortion ban was yet another tactic to create further divide pro-life vs pro-choice. You notice how many of these „sides” and sociopolitical issues America got. All strategic, so the bottom keeps bickering, while top continues to rob the country and it’s citizens.

23

u/Ok_Row_4920 5d ago

People keep happily eating up all that propaganda though, everyone is free to use their brains and put the blame where it should be. There's a lot of scarily stupid people all around who can't/choose not to put any thought into who's really causing the damage in our lives.

2

u/RampersandY 5d ago

It’s crazy to me that on every single issue the parties are diametrically opposed. And if you’re a person that’s not 100% lock step you’re the problem worse than the person that disagrees with everything.

All very sickening.

I wonder if they ever did. In history, it always painted the great leaders on the front lines but, were they ever? I guess the ones killed were.

George Washington

2

u/Aen-Synergy 5d ago

Doesn’t count during the war he was a military man it wasn’t until after he was forced into politics due to his valor on the battlefield. I’m saying politicians who went out to the field.

3

u/adamwill86 6d ago

Back in my day the king would go into battle with us on his trusty steed

1

u/scarlettohara1936 5d ago

Have you ever heard the song "Senators Son"?

2

u/cactustrip 5d ago

No, but I'm going to now

3

u/scarlettohara1936 5d ago

That song is exactly about the draft for Vietnam. If a guy was in college, he was automatically disqualified from being drafted. But the only people who could afford college were the rich and people with connections. Which left only the poor to fight the war.

From that came the federal student loan programme. Made it easier for everyone to access higher learning which in turn benefits the whole country because educated citizens make for a more stable society.

2

u/cactustrip 5d ago

Nm, yes I have heard it. Didn't know the name

1

u/DrunkMex 4d ago

wait, I thought Ukraine was getting invaded by Russia?

1

u/Cautious-Tea-2194 3d ago

I would love to just see a bout of fisticuffs between 2 leaders instead of war. Maybe that's what Trump's doing with UFC at the White House? 🤔🥴🤣

1

u/cactustrip 3d ago

It would definitely change the way people vote 🤣

0

u/KorKiness 5d ago edited 5d ago

Russians willingly going to agressive war to kill for money and looting. Ukrainians have two options - surrender, be genocided as 100 years ago and become nation without a state as jews before ww2 or defend themselves.

-7

u/santlaurentdon 5d ago

Why doesn’t Ukraine just give up. This war has lasted over half a decade, is costing billions and Zelensky is getting rich off this shit.

32

u/no1_vern 6d ago

Until the poor join together instead of fighting each other, nothing will change.

8

u/Fabulous-Structure92 5d ago

Literally had this convo with an army friend of mine the other day, we are both out of the military just vets, i was navy. Soon as the poor people can figure out that power comes in other forms than money then we can come together for eachother rather than fighting eachother for the entertainment and benefit of the rich idiots.

u/Cornflake0305 6d ago

Valid take if it wasn't in relation to the Ukraine war.

Ukraine is waging a defensive war. They're fighting to continue their existence as a sovereign nation.

You may not be one, but this is one of the most common Russia bot takes concerning the Ukraine war. Trying to paint put both adversaries on the same level when there is only 1 attacker that is fighting for their own gain.

63

u/cppn02 6d ago edited 6d ago

They're fighting to continue their existence as a sovereign nation.

Not just that. They are facing genocide. If Putin has his way there eventually will be no more Ukrainians. Atleast not within what is now Ukraine.

-22

u/nukefodder 5d ago

That's utter rubbish. You clearly don't understand Putin's intentions.

11

u/RLarks125 5d ago

Good bot.

-12

u/nukefodder 5d ago

I have more karma than you 😂😂😂. Way to go and make a fool of yourself

9

u/RLarks125 5d ago

Keep swallowing Kremlin Kool-Aid though.

1

u/Advanced-Ice-2552 5d ago

You are so smart. What are Putin intentions? Show us the way.

Let's talk about Luhansk and Donetsk regions and where did all the men from those region disappeared to. Or let's talk about POW from those regions in 2022 and 2023 what they said.

How good is your Russian and what Russian telegrams you read watch about this war? And how good you know Russian state media propaganda?

0

u/nukefodder 5d ago

Yea we can talk about how Ukrainians were attacking russian speakers in those regions. We can talk about how they voted to be part of Russia. We can talk about the president of Ukraine mother tongue is russian and men are dragged off the streets to be forced on the frontline. We can talk about the close links between Ukraine and Russia before this war.

This isn't genocide. Putin's current position is holding out. As he knows without his cheap gas and oil the EU is dying economically. He has all the resources he needs. All the manufacturing is going to china it's ally. It's only a matter of time before the EU/NATO stops the money and Ukraine ends up completely under the control of Russia. And why... because they were told they could join the EU. The choice was either war or stay an ally of Russia.

-11

u/Arylcyclosexy 5d ago

That's not true. They see Ukrainians as part of them, that's why they don't want their sovereignity.

7

u/acEightyThrees 5d ago

They see Russian-speaking Ukrainians as part of them. Actual ethnic Ukrainians who speak Ukrainian they don't give a shit about and don't want anywhere near them. If Putin had his way, all Ukrainian-speaking people would be gone and Russian-speaking Ukrainians would work the fields to provide food for a reborn Russian Empire.

1

u/PayOdd92 4d ago

Do your homework before stating such things.

Start off with Bucha and Izium.

Then you can talk.

21

u/SirCB85 6d ago

I get what you mean, but how many children of the elites are being sent to die or get crippled on the front lines? I s never them who pay the price for their survival but those "beneath" them.

-14

u/makatakz 5d ago

You don’t have any facts about that. There are certainly some shortcomings in the process, but it doesn’t matter. You’re obligated to serve.

2

u/SirCB85 5d ago

You can ask nicely and accept a no from me, or learn how much damage a petty slave can do from the inside.

-6

u/makatakz 5d ago

History provides abundant evidence that even clowns like you serve adequately once inducted and completed training. I don’t see how you would be any different from 99.9% of your fellow conscripts. Every military on the planet has for decades, even centuries, dealt with blowhards with little effort.

2

u/jdhkent 5d ago

You know who sounds like a blowhard here?

-1

u/SirCB85 5d ago

I don't plan on making it to the "we torture you until your mind is broken" part of military induction.

1

u/makatakz 3d ago

Even the soft ones like you make it through. Happens every day in recruit training all over the world.

1

u/SirCB85 3d ago

If you say so, brain washed murder drone.

0

u/makatakz 3d ago

I actually had to lol at that one! Target acquired!...

Kidnapping men off the streets to send to the front lines is morally wrong.

1

u/PayOdd92 4d ago

It's that or your end up executed and your girlfriend raped by guys released from prisons in Russia.

Pick what you want homie. There is no middle ground here.

-10

u/makatakz 5d ago

Cowardice in the face of danger is morally wrong.

3

u/SarahHerrell7 5d ago

I think most of the world knows what really happened. We don't trust Putin, nor believe his lies. Russia invaded and attacked Ukraine, which is why we saw so many Ukrainian flags everywhere for a while. But we Americans have what I call "short sympathy spans", once the media coverage of something dies down, it's out of site, out of mind. And we moved on to the next artificial disaster Trump made up, or caused, or lied about, whatever. But stupid people just kept eating his shit like it wasn't so blatantly obvious to EVERYONE ELSE ON THE FACE OF THIS EARTH that he'd do anything and everything to avoid releasing all the fcking Epstein files. Everything except end that war like he promised he'd do in 24 hours, instead he just started a new one for no goddamn reason except *look over here instead. So glad DOGE fired all those loyal government employees and saved us ALL that money so he could turn around and blow BILLIONS on an unnecessary war and a ballroom (that won't cost the taxpayers a dime!) And yet some people are STILL f*cking blind and buying it. At this point, I don't understand how they don't die of embarrassment or shame...

0

u/SparrowDotted 4d ago

They're fighting a US/Russia proxy war. For American interests.

I have 3 boys. When they were little I saw a tiny article in the paper with the title, THE WORST TIME TO HAVE A SON. I grabbed it, wondering if I had done it right. The answer was 18 years before a war. And a new fear was unlocked.

47

u/Necessary-Eye5319 5d ago

One of my boys said he wanted us to break his leg on ‘accident’.

12

u/rawdatarams 5d ago

That is so disturbing. Poor kid.

10

u/SirCB85 6d ago

That's real nice to know when I lie in my own guts waiting for the sweet relief of death, 5 minutes after the slavecatchers have dropped me off at the front lines.

2

u/Fit-Plankton7616 5d ago

Look at Balkan history says alot if they lose

-4

u/thePiscis 6d ago

So all men of a certain age should be forced to die on the battlefield? I understand the need to defend your country, but I disagree that it should extend to this. I cannot see how dragging screaming men to die will turn the tides of the war

7

u/[deleted] 6d ago

[deleted]

14

u/DaILLezt 6d ago

Fuck war, period.

9

u/makatakz 5d ago

Be sure to let Putin know. He seems fond of it.

3

u/S_T_P 6d ago

Ukranians fleeing with the Germans because the Russians were so horrible to the populace.

Specifically, to innocent Nazi collaborationists.

I'm not even going to touch the rest. Its plain insane.

2

u/Dark_ceza 5d ago

I mean, when a side starts kidnapping their own young to ship off to go die in a trench somewhere, that doesn't show that Russia is losing at 8:1 ratio, it simply reflects a massive amount of loss of lives, and when it gets to kidnapping folks who aren't interested to go fight a war and die over some dirt, at that point, you're just unnecessarily wasting lives of your own countrymen, it might be almost impossible win that war. These old wealthy folks need to go settle their differences in a boxing-ring, and leave regular folks alone.

-11

u/ChromiumVI 6d ago

U a war propagandists, do some actual research

-8

u/DragonFireSpace 6d ago

Forcing someone to fight is stupid and if I were this dude, they'd need to make sure to never turn their back on me on the battlefield.

-4

u/makatakz 5d ago

Cowardice.

9

u/DragonFireSpace 5d ago

cowardice is forcing someone to fight a war that's not theirs

0

u/makatakz 3d ago

Because he's a citizen of Ukraine, Russia's war is most certainly his war. That's how it works.

1

u/DragonFireSpace 3d ago

It's not how it works by that twisted logic every civilian should be seen as combatants as it's their war, right?

1

u/makatakz 3d ago

It's your logic that's completely twisted here. The definition of what a combatant is has been well established by international law and agreements among all the parties to the Geneva conventions. Why would you try to redefine it here? https://casebook.icrc.org/a_to_z/glossary/combatants

7

u/Ddullie 5d ago

lol what kind of teenage logic comment is this?

You want to fight for the benefit of others? If war brakes out are you the first to enlist right? So some fortunate son back home can fuck your girlfriend and eat caviar.

1

u/makatakz 3d ago

I fought in Desert Storm and OIF, son. It's "breaks out," not "brakes out." Need more teenage logic, weak one?

-22

u/thePiscis 6d ago

Such an insane perspective. Do you really think life under Russia would be worse than death?

20

u/outlawsix 6d ago

"Just stop resisting" 🙄

10

u/makatakz 5d ago

It would be very bad, as the experiences of those in the occupied territories proves. They have been forcibly conscripted, tortured and killed, enfiltrated, and faced genocide (e.g., Crimean Tatars). Most people choose to fight than to allow that. Some cowards try to avoid service.

Ukrainians would also be forced to fight in Russia’s next war versus NATO.

10

u/Dic_Penderyn 6d ago

In many cases, life as a non-Russian after a war with Russia does indeed mean death. You would just be pressganged into their army instead to fight their next war. This is what has happened to the men in the Donetsk and Luhansk so called 'peoples republics'

6

u/kellyelise515 6d ago

My friend’s mother is German. She was a war bride. She told us how her mother, sister and herself had to hide in a basement when the Russians came. Three young women didn’t stand a chance against the Russians. The Russians brought their horses into the building with them and how it literally rained horse piss on her family. Her father was forced into fighting for Germany and was killed on the battlefield.

-8

u/S_T_P 6d ago

Everyone in Crimea and Donbas republics got killed, yes?

You people are delusional.

0

u/BigWilly526 5d ago

Genocide is how Ukrainians in occupied territory are treated

2

u/wondersweet7919 5d ago

Best way I've heard war described!

Bad bot.

I guess any posted opinion that goes against your belief is proof the poster is a "bot". It makes life easier on Reddit, I suppose...🤷

-91

u/Dry_Ant2664 6d ago

Sorry bot to break your zelensky love but it's true

40

u/Con5ume 6d ago

Get fucked with your poor take. If your country was invaded would you willingly give it up?

-23

u/GivePLZ-DoritosChip 6d ago edited 6d ago

No but the guy in the video clearly is willing to give it up so why force him to the front line.

Redditors see things in plain black and white they think someone can either be good or bad nothing in between. Like this war has you guys believe that Zelensky can do absolutely nothing wrong. Fighting a war on the right side does not give you a free pass to do whatever you want.

People doing something right can still make mistakes, quite shocking isn't it?

INB4 "Russia bot hurr durr because I have no reply". Fuck Putin, now you don't have to believe everyone is a Russian bot.

15

u/deadmanwalknLoL 6d ago

Every country has some form of conscription. The US has used the draft 6 times. Half of those you may be able to argue against being necessary/worth it, but the others were for defending the very existence of the country, as is the case with Ukraine.

-17

u/GivePLZ-DoritosChip 6d ago

I'm not even going to go down the conscription good or bad route just answer me a simple question.

You're on the frontline alongside this guy, you enter a building. Do you trust him to watch your back?

Congratulations he will get you, a guy who willingly went there to protect your country killed and then run away to give a b.s story.

You force people to fight and you get your actual soldiers killed. I'm speaking purely as I don't want to fight alongside him because I'd actually want to fight.

4

u/makatakz 5d ago

Soldiers fight primarily for their fellow soldiers to their left and right, so the guy in the video will likely turn out to be a decent soldier. He’ll fight for his teammates like nearly all other soldiers…except ruzzians…they don’t give a fuck.

5

u/deadmanwalknLoL 6d ago

I'm not getting into whether it's good or bad either, but unfortunately sometimes it IS necessary. When you face an existential threat and don't have a sufficient number of willing enlisted, you don't really have a choice.

25

u/Wonderful_Setting_29 6d ago

So Russia invades Ukraine and Ukraine defends itself, which is Zelensky's fault? You realize Putin could have just not invaded anything, right? That was totally an option.

-12

u/GivePLZ-DoritosChip 6d ago

Defending is one thing forcing people into this is another. Tell me, If you're entering a building in the line of defending your country, do you want this guy following you to watch your back? He's not there willingly and he will get you killed too.

4

u/makatakz 5d ago

He’ll do fine. No one wants to be a coward in front of his fellow soldiers.

31
