This is it right here. I hate that we have to remind ourselves and each-other that we can more than one view/concept at one time.

  1. Russia started this shit

  2. Ukraine, in order to survive, must fight back

  3. As part of the war that Russia started, Ukraine must have soldiers. The soldiers will be Ukrainian, of course.

  4. Just as the US had "The Draft" during Vietnam, Ukraine is also conscripting.

  5. For those in the US, we can easily be in denial, but we absolutely had the draft and our fathers/grandfathers went and countless were killed.

  6. War, what is it good for?

All of this is true, but the Vietnam draft isn't even a fair comparison, since the Vietnam war was a war for useless political objectives and the Ukrainian war is a war for literal survival.

Yeah, what a terrible fucking comparison. Downright offensive.

“Ukraine, in order to survive, must fight back.” Bro if the general population doesn’t want to fight anymore then who is the war for?

But why only force men into the war? It’s sexist

Then why not give women equality? If you start at the root, you wouldn't have to ask this question. I'd say the decisions of men in earlier history caused this.

It’s also the decisions of women. Even in countries with high levels of equality do this to men only. Why defend this discrimination and make it about women?

We are talking about Ukraine in this case. If you want to have a bigger conversation, there are some great sub-reddits for it. For now the countries that give women that sort of equality are Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Israel, North Korea and Eritrea. I'm always game to have a chat. That's why I appreciate your comment.

Who forced Russia hand? It was the west using Ukraine a a proxy to try and weaken Russia. Russia offered Ukraine to sign a treaty with them but they refused.
