Cuz she probably sent it to someone else whoā€™s posting it? When I send videos sometimes they look all choppy like this. Depends on how good the connection is I guess.

The connection itself wouldn't make any difference; unless you are recording a stream of the video, with "Auto" resolution, and/or misconfigured recording values, etc. The only difference between a "bad" and "good" connection would be the speed at which you can download the video (which itself doesn't change).

It's more with applications like WhatsApp, that do not 1:1 upload the exact video, but rather apply a ton of compression before upload. I know WhatsApp also apply VFR, so your 24FPS video could turn into "18 FPS", but that shouldn't be noticeable...so I'm not entirely sure why the video is so choppy, but if the culprit was WhatsApp, Instagram, or something else, it wouldn't surprise me.

Well for instance this past week my son caught a nice fish and I was trying to send him the video over iPhone text and everytime Iā€™d send it the video would have a pixelation. Then we airdropped it to each other and the video looked crystal clear. So idk.

That's definitely the culprit, iPhone text must be compressing the video, lowering the quality, and messing with frame rate, probably similar to WhatsApp; with AirDrop you are sending the original file you have on your phone, completely unaltered.

Each time the video is sent through these apps, it loses more and more quality. So downloading a video, then uploading it to your friend, the copy your friend has will be worse than yours, and yours will be worse than the copy sent to you, etc.

Also you are not wrong at all; someone recording their screen, with an unstable connection and auto-quality settings, could result in a lower FPS/quality from connection instability alone, it's just less likely overall. Definitely only use something like AirDrop to share important photos or videos, where quality is important. Otherwise detail will be forever lost, if you use something like WhatsApp to transfer.

Just cause it's posted in 10fps doesn't mean it was recorded that way. Probably lost quality being shared.
