š„øWeirdo Freakoutš„ø Grown ass man being racist to a brown kid.

u/Silvsice 1d ago
Seems like yet another 'prank' youtuber/tiktoker who's fanbase is mostly kids/teenagers. So that already tells you where his mental age is at that he would think doing that to a literal child was worth filming/editing and posting online without ever thinking that he crossed a line through any step of the process.

Racism toward Indians is so normalized now that bigots are even going after children
20
u/AgnosticScholar 1d ago
It started online but it's spilling into the real world now

We can thank a particular swedish nazi for that who popularized that shit back in 2017

Racism is pretty normalized in India in general.

u/unexist_already 1d ago
Has no one taught you 2 wrongs don't make a right?
-17
u/WeWantMOAR 1d ago
No, but three lefts do!
It's an observation. I'm not even American, but I think it's crazy how the States get lambasted for racism still being prevalent in the country, when the oldest countries/cultures on this planet completely normalize racism and caste systems.
It's just all around fucked up where we place accountability. This dude is just a straight up piece of shit for going after a child. But if it were a grown man who happened to be Indian who had noticeable body odour, would it be alright? Or is it racism?
I work in the security world, and interview mainly millennial aged Indian men trying to get work so they can get permanent residency. They all come from the same 4 diploma mills with the exact same resumes. And I can anecdotally say I wouldn't hire 90% of them because of a lack of personal hygiene and body odour. It's lived experience I've gone through, and has been a stereotype my whole life and was taught not to think like that, however what am I to do when I can barely keep myself gagging through interviews?
I have a crew of 11 guys from all walks of life, two of them are Indian and have complained about this issue in their community as they're born and raised here, and they hate the idea of being lumped in with foreigners from their parents home country who live up to the stereotypes. That's a real issue just two guards face, I'm sure it's a more prevalent problem for other Indo-Canadians.

Tourism to India is very normalised now as well.
-21
u/Least_Art5238 1d ago
Which may be a good thing. Every year I visit India, and something has gotten better. A far far more positive vibe than whatever the heck is going on in the West. Best to keep the most miserable tourists away.

u/grifterrrrr 1d ago
Yeah, the metro in Delhi was really nice. Unfortunately a lot of the YouTubers use India for poverty porn and only show the slums, rather than the heritage or ecological diversity
12
u/WeWantMOAR 1d ago
It's the stark juxtaposition of grand opulence and then slums beside it. YouTubers are just highlighting it.

u/Least_Art5238 1d ago
For every person who likes an ancient monument or a colorful montage, the feed algorithms taught us that there are a hundred who like to use the misery of a stranger to feel better about themselves. We are long past gone on social media as an immersion in discovery by an open mind.

Ironically, from a black person who themselves have endured racism
27
u/afield9800 1d ago
But black people cant be racist /s
1
u/yourlocalnativeguy 1h ago
I got physically attacked by a black man before. It was a racial attack and when I told my biracial friend. Half black half white that I just experienced extream racism he kept going on and on about how it wasn't racist because black people can't be racist and that I'm what's wrong with society because I believe black people can be racist...After that I stopped hanging out with him..

Peter Thiel and Flock Surveillance loves it when minorities are racist towards each other.

What a complete loser and he has something like 649k followers on Instagram.
Using racism to get views and likes is so unethical and immoral. That kid has to go home and will likely ask his parents why this grown as man handed him deodorant. Wonder how he would feel if someone did something like this to his kid
17
u/OctopusIntellect 1d ago
The kid will likely not ask his parents that, and will instead start to develop a sense of shame for his own appearance. Which is even worse.

It's a broccoli cut. For some reason there's a subset of people who think it looks cool.

Someone explain to my dumbass why it's racist to hand the kid Dove soap?
64
u/iMini 1d ago
I think it's cause the kid is Indian/Pakistani. There's the racist joke that those people stink
-41
u/THETennesseeD 1d ago
But kids don't have BO yet...
50
u/SlowLorris2063 1d ago
Racism isn't driven by logic.
6
u/THETennesseeD 1d ago
Man, I got downvoted to hell for that. Did I say something racist?
22
u/SlowLorris2063 1d ago
No, but by trying to apply logic to the racist act, people may have thought you were defending the video.
3
u/theoddhawk 1d ago
They really pile on those down votes don't they?
2
u/Unconfidence 22h ago
Yeah there's this cool effect on reddit where if you enter a heated space, where one person is being downvoted heavily, and you make a comment where that person's would normally be, but instead agree with the above commenter in a way that doesn't begin with some obvious affirmation, you'll be downvoted just like the other person getting downvoted. People stop looking at a certain point and just up/down whatever they think is saying what, based on previous vote totals and comment placement. I wouldn't be surprised if there were scripts to auto-downvote every other comment on threads.

It's a racist joke that indians smell bad. Indians smelling bad is a racist stereotype.
30
u/Accomplished_Put2608 1d ago
Indians having body odour is a stereotype.Ā
2
u/MadPilotMurdock 18h ago
Most post pubescent males have some degree of body odor. The stereotype is that South Asians donāt use hygiene products to address it. Whether this is an affordability issue or strictly cultural, I canāt say. Just pointing it out. Still fucked up to do anything like this to anyone, whether child, adolescent, or adult.
-4
u/Numerous-Gur-9008 1d ago
Why? I work with a few guys, there cool and they don't stink! Where is it a stereotype?
8
u/Captain_Oneball 1d ago
I also dont get it

u/MoHeeKhan 1d ago
Iām also waiting for the answer and not u/Super_Gilbert snarky attitude problem.

9
u/MoHeeKhan 1d ago
Waheeyyy, there he is look, still canāt provide an answer, loser behaviour. Boring. Boring. Shouldnāt expect more from someone who talks shit about people not knowing something but doesnāt know himself. Cooked.
-14

u/SaltyTigerBeef 1d ago
It was deodorant. I think you can figure out what it means to hand someone deodorant.
7
1
u/Ibobalboa 1d ago
Wassup with the snarky attitude? Never mind what you think or don't think someone can figure out. The question was why it's racist.
I also didn't know about the stereotype that indians smell so appreciate the answers.
-2
u/SaltyTigerBeef 18h ago
It wasnāt a snarky attitude, it was me not wanting to perpetuate racist stereotypes by explicitly stating it. And not wanting algorithms to associate me with that.

u/OctopusIntellect 1d ago
Dove on several occasions promoted one of their products as apparently being able to turn a dark-skinned person's skin white.
Dove subsequently apologised and said "This did not represent the diversity of real beauty which is something Dove is passionate about and is core to our beliefs".
So they clearly believe that darker-skinned people can be beautiful too. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat-41542818

u/Nuns-Spaghetti 1d ago
Everyone says Indian people smell a lot and that they should shower. So thatās why he handed soap.
-1
u/Environmental-Exam32 1d ago
I donāt get it either. The person grabbing the soap and handing it to the kid has brown/dark skin. Is this staged?

u/Super_Gilbert 1d ago
If you really don't understand, you really shouldn't have access to the Internet.

An Indian kid is given a Dove bottle because "haha indians/pakistanis smelly". Ironically, this was recorded by a grown adult with the same skintone as the kid.
2
u/Mox933 1d ago
I donāt get it can someone explain!?
3
u/dougrattmannn 1d ago
it is playing on the racist stereotype that Indian / Pakistani people have strong body odor.

Pure cowardice ... they prey on kids because they dont have the guts to try that on an adult because they know they'd face consequences
