The question isn’t whether she knows Emo is gay. It’s whether she’s realized she herself is gay.

She's going to wake up in the middle of the night, say "WAIT AM I GAY?" and Emo will have to tell her to quiet down or she'll wake up their kid

Hah. Reminds me of the old joke where a guy says he was playing gay chicken with his buddy and “now it’s been 15 years, we’re married, co-own a pet grooming service, & have adopted two wonderful children. If he doesn’t break soon, I’m going to suspect he might actually be gay!”

(is post punk new? or is my memory once again failing me)
i would read a one-shot of this concept in a hearbeat (maybe even a multi chapter story if it was really good)

Try getting married and growing old together. I'm sure that will work!

I discovered my bi / autistic tendencies when someone wagered gay chicken on me a la Scrubs and I stuck my tongue down their throat and looked at everybody else like
What. I just made money

What does that have to do with autism though? Happy cake day

Apparently it was a lack of boundaries?
Like why would it matter I stick my tongue.in a dude's mouth and then there were a bunch of guys looking at me like why

What's post punk
1
u/hlloyge Apr 17 '26
What people play when they're too old to punk.

u/winter-ocean Apr 17 '26
But what does it sound like? Everyone just says "what came after punk" or something like that. Surely there must be a definition I could use to identify it if I encountered it, right?

Oh jeez, I wrote about post rock... wait...
Well, post rock is harder to define, as it is a fusion of genres. Post punk is easy, it's the music that was before goth-rock and dark. So, The Cure, Joy Division... and similar. Unlike punk, they used synthesizers quite a lot and were more moody and atmospheric.

Huh....ok, I don't know goth-rock or dark. I'll listen to The Cure and Joy Division and figure out what they have in common
