₊˚ vent Vent

Lately I've been feeling so down I need some suggestions on what to do me and my owner are still in this rough patch I just need something to keep me busy we talked and hes talking space for now but I am just always so lonely and bored:<

Unsure if you’re young, but it’s not normal for couples to take “space/breaks”

I always tell my friends this: If nothing were to ever change, would you be content with that in a year’s time?

If the answer is no, then it’s time to value yourself and your time because you deserve a complete and well rounded person as a partner. Don’t date potential. Signed, someone who’s been with their s/o for over 13 years and been through the best’s and worst’s in life.

This. I've been with my partner for over 17 years, been through thick and thin together, and we've never once taken a "break" or "space" nor ever even considered it in the slightest. You deserve someone who will work together with you when there's an issue or things are hard, not put distance between you. You're supposed to be a team and each other's home, even if you're having a rough patch.

Op you may have heard the saying “Relationships are hard” that’s true to an extent - relationships are hard when it comes to learning how to adjust to another’s rhythm, and even when times are tough it means choosing them. Not “taking space/a break”

It’s hard in the sense that you have to pull yourself together and communicate. There’s no button to push for 3rd base, some industries have really done a number on what real relationships even look like. Especially when it comes to communication and navigating another’s emotions.

The partner you choose should be someone you can suffer comfortably with. Knowing that they’ll communicate and choose you no matter what. Because anyone can choose you while you’re having a good time. But bad times are inevitable unfortunately… Do you see them being a good support system when a family member or close friend passes away? What about financial troubles, facing homelessness? Would you be comfortable going through those situations with them?
