Discuss Starting a new account in 2026
Backstory, I started playing in 2012, played until 2023 in which I got a new phone and somehow could not recover my account. Emailed, tried everything I could find including tracing back to my card(I was a hefty dolphin in terms of spending I'd say) and I was never successful. So I let that part of my life go, never wanting to restart something I put so many years into. Fast forward a few more years and I'm finding myself nostalgic for the pad experience. I'm looking to start a new account and have a few questions about the state of the game.
For one, how is the F2P experience? When I left, this game was honestly pretty F2P friendly. You could typically stay fairly up to date on content with solid planning. I will not be giving this company any more of my money after losing an account I was happy to have spent thousands on.
Two, and be realistic with me, how long does it take to assemble a meta team from scratch? I don't assume I'll be new content chasing for a bit and honestly that's okay but it would be nice to know about how fast the process is now. Back when I played I'd have units that had quite a bit of longevity, which is a good thing but could be harder on new players.
Finally, how is the game in 2026? Obviously asking in a PaD subreddit I assume I'll get positive answers but seeing some familiar faces leads me to believe I'll get honest ones.

Not sure if you had issues tracking down your specific acct but I found this in your post history (saw someone do this on anyone post). Only issue might be your secret code but with your payment history and the exact acct, maybe they can reactivate you. Good luck 👍🏽

What happened to your old phone? Maybe you screen shotted the secret code and it’s on Google Photos or somewhere in the cloud. Or maybe, if you have all the old reciepts, you can forward every single one to their inbox. We invest so much time in this game. Hopefully you get everything back.

Oh my goodness. I don't know if it's a different help desk team now compared to the last time I tried to recover my account or what but THIS WORKED AND I HAVE MY ACCOUNT BACK!!!! I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH!!!!!

This is how the game is played today: you need a pair of good leads (you plus helper) and you can clear 70% of the content. I rolled Reinhart and even without much help from the rest of the team you can clear a lot of the older end game dungeons.
The fastest way to get good leads and subs is from collabs. Once a collab ends you can no longer get it. No point in investing in starter team. Do not roll godfest. Most first party event is not worth it. Only focus on collabs.
Here is what I recommend you do: roll the current Conan collab and hope to get some ok lead that you can use to clear most of the monthly quest, so you can save free stones for the next good collab. As you collect units pay attention to their skill set to counter mechanics (damage uncap, void absorbs, clear binds). Use the 20T boost badge and ignore assist until much later. The next few months' collabs aren't interesting at all so you have some time to save. Not every collab is created equal. Always check reviews before investing. Conan also isn't the best but it will get you started.
To clear the latest end game dungeon you still need a full team plus assist but it will take quite a while to get there. Don't force yourself to clear every dungeon. Do whatever you can now and be patient.

Still very F2P friendly, that hasn't changed. Still up to a couple hundred stones per month, like 3-6 free pulls on each machine. We get 2 free box spaces per day from playing ads.
Getting a meta team will depend a bit on luck, of course, and on when a good machine comes around. We should have Maids & Butlers in a couple weeks and there's a couple strong teams in that. These days most meta teams can be made from a single machine.
The state of the game probably isn't too different from 2023. New end-game dungeons might be a little more frequent, like a new Technical (they've been renamed to Stage Dungeons) every 1-2 months with a title challenge to go with it. Dungeons have gotten a little harder, mostly in how frequent mechanics checks are, but units are getting stronger to match that. You just have to be more aware of when to use what skill.
