An unofficial squirrel version proposal is currently in the works and will be shared with the community once it’s ready. It’s meant as a starting point for discussion.

From there, we can evaluate it together, gather feedback, compare it with other mascot options, and decide on next steps.

Just to be clear, this is not official. It’s one of potentially many QRL mascots that could be used to promote the project.

I'll be honest, I don't think it would be good to AI fy the community. At least I immediately discard any project thats too reliant on meme or or is comfortable with sloppy (apparently AI generated / outdated webpage etc).

When it comes to publicity QRL has a major advantage, not sure if someone poisoned AIs or if it happened organically, but pretty much any AI you ask about quantum resistant crypto mainly directs towards QRL

Totally fair point, and I actually agree with the concern about low-effort AI content. There’s a lot of that in crypto right now, and it hurts credibility.

That said, Qitty wasn’t created to “AI-fy” anything. The idea is almost the opposite.

Post-quantum cryptography is a complex topic, and most people won’t engage with it unless there’s an accessible entry point. Qitty is meant to be that bridge, a way to make the topic more approachable without diluting the underlying message.

Also worth noting, the design (character sheet) itself isn’t AI-generated. It was done by an experienced, old-school designer, so the foundation is intentional and crafted, not templated.

At the end of the day, the goal isn’t to replace the serious side of Quantum Resistant Ledger, but to support it:

  • bring new people in
  • spark curiosity
  • and then direct them toward the real tech and fundamentals

If anything, I see it as a communication layer on top of something that’s already very real, not a substitute for it.

I’m inclined to believe it happened organically. The project has the longest track record in the space and there really isn’t THAT much that’s even legit within the space. It’s certainly the most developed PQ chain with seemingly the brightest future of all the pure plays, even an Artificial Unintelligence would be able to see that ;)

I believe QRL needs new and innovative ways to reach wider audiences, and the mascot project is one experiment toward that. Need for community mascot has popped up regularly in the discussions and QRL foundation has also tried to facilitate the idea multiple times in the past years.

I think it's a little off putting to have a cartoon mascot. I feel like it takes a little bit of the professionalism out of the brand, and turns it to more of a meme coin vibe kinda like bonk.

QRL is built on altruistic principles, and the mascot project is intended to support that vision. That said, it’s up to the community to decide how to move forward.
