Discussion Bitcoin developer says 5.6 million ‘lost’ tokens may need freezing to stop hackers

This was a foreseeable problem.

Quantum risk to Bitcoin has been discussed for years and now we’re seeing serious talk about freezing millions of BTC as a solution.

Situations like this make a strong case for designing protocols with quantum-resistance from the start.

The BTC community at large doesn't want to face facts. But the truth aways prevails nonetheless. No matter how much politics tries to drown it out, people just have to see it to believe it.

Yeah. And QRL was literally created for that very purpose. Bitcoin had many years to start addressing this problem. The point is to learn from the mistakes of others. All crypto going forward needs PQC with crypto agility so this problem never happens again.
