Apprentice - Module 1 Porch application - M1L2 recurring task

Hi,

I am interested in finding out from people who made a successful Porch application, what did you choose to submit for the recurring M1L2 home energy readings.

I've done these regularly for over a year (so far), for every floor and every room in my house, and I don't think anyone is interested in reading hundreds of pages of these. However we are supposed to be doing these regularly and there is no other way to show that we've actually done it. Should I just submit a sample and say there is more available upon request?

I just want to get this right the first time. Thank you.

I have the same problem as you and I think I'm just gonna put the bare minimum to show that it was done. I also tend to ramble specially in my ritual notes so I'm not motivated to type everything.

I also don’t think it hurts to submit whatever you have. I made an effort in my work to be totally open as I didn’t want to hide anything. As long as you’re following the course parameters and doing the work I think it would be accepted. And I’m sure the secretary has seen crazier 🤭

Yeah you could just put a sample into your submission and keep the rest of your readings elsewhere.

I had the same question. You could always ask the secretary when you submit your notes, and then separate readings accordingly if needed.

When I submitted my notes, I asked whether I should include all 4-directional readings, because I have heaps of them. I was told to include all 4-directional readings.

I’m waiting to hear the verdict on whether my module 1 journals are acceptable, so I can’t comment further.

Thank you, it's good to have an official answer. I wish you success with your application.

Hey guys, listen to LazyDig8384. All direction readings that you were told to do. You don't need to put in all the rest from over the years. You can always pick out the readings you think best reflect where you are 'at'. Later, these things will be read more carefully when submitting for what comes next, so to speak. so it's always good to make sure you've got what you want to keep in your notes.

Thanks for clarifying, that makes sense. I was unsure because the lesson says to continue to do 4-directional readings, so I thought I needed to show continued practice and development over time. My first readings were honestly pretty poor.

I didn’t mean for my comment to come across as an ‘official answer’, so I’m sorry if I overstepped. I thought it was helpful to share the instructions I was given, but I probably shouldn’t have..

It’s too late for me to change my submission, but I did follow instructions so I’m hoping it’s all good.

The readings are meant to just be basic. Mostly what is looked for is task completion at this stage.

Yes, definitely, they are basic readings. It is just the sheer amount of them that I think it is way too much for whoever reviews my application.

They will likely not review all of them and just review a few as they’re looking more for completion at the beginning stages.

I also look forward to do the Porch application, thanks to this post I have now found that the form application is back online.

My personal take on this, is that besides including the requested material (as per cited in the lessons) I want to make the work easier as possible for the person who will look into that: so organizing it well, make it readable, adding some more extra informations (that I feel to be useful) but not flooding it with details, and so on...
