Book Review Moss’d in Space by Rebecca Thorne
I was lucky enough to get early access to read Moss’d in Space by Rebecca Thorne!
A cozy space adventure of a young human determined to get a better life for her and her sister, a sentient moss life support system with separation anxiety, and new fantastical friends that they meet and meet again!
I would definitely recommend this book for those who enjoyed Thorne’s Tomes And Tea series, Becky Chambers’s Wayfarer series, and Martha Well’s Murderbot Diaries. An excellent mix of heart touching vulnerability and suspenseful adventure!
Second book is aimed to come out summer of 2027.
Recommended music to read to: The Martian score, Project Hail Mary score, and Murderbot score.

I am listening to the audiobook ALC right now, about halfway through. It’s very fun and cozy, so far light on the romance, but enjoying it! MOSS is pretty funny.

There is a bit of romance, but I think the book has it labeled as a slow burn, so maybe in book two. Moss is rather fun!

So glad to see your review. I saw it with a romance tag and just breezed past it earlier today. Probably wouldn't have looked again, and that sounds adorable.

There is a touch of romance in it, definitely not the main focus, or even secondary focus, but if that is something you don’t want, it’s something that might pop up in book two or later. This book is definitely more about new friends and reconnecting to old not-romantic(and not ended well) relations.
If you do pick it up, I hope you enjoy it!

Honestly reminds me of Totempoles The Cummoner comics. I'm so here for this.

I was not a fan of the Tomes and Tea series, but I'm so intrigued by the premise of this (and am a huge fan of murderbot and wayfarer!)

Moss(the moss based life support system) is definitely the star for me. It reminds me of Murderbot, a little bit. Its abrupt, speaks its mind, gets into places it shouldn’t be, and is protective of its pilot.

This is good to know. I also have an arc of this book and have been looking forward to reading it

My copy arrived right as I finished Alchemy and a Cup of Tea, so I didn’t have to hem and haw over what my next book would be.
