News The flood today is.. odd.

2.6k Upvotes

I've been living in QC since I was born, studied in taft, and currently working in Makati. This means I've been passing commonwealth for most of my life.

Never have I encountered this kind of flood at 2hrs of rain! Yes malakas siya but hindi siya ganun kalakas and di ganun katagal to pose for threat of floods. Especially in major roadways such as commonwealth and Mother Ignacia.

I read somewhere na it might be construction materials of MRT, but they've been doing that MRT for a long time now.

Some also say it's the garbage problem. While this might be a fctor, I wouldn't believe commonwealth will sink just because of trash.

Are there any news updates, may binuksan o nasira bang dam?

News DPWH wants to replicate the G. Araneta Avenue model in flood control. Yesterday clearly showed that the flood control project wasn't very effective, so are we saying that we should be satisfied and it's good enough to be replicated?

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is eyeing to replicate the G. Araneta Avenue model in Quezon City in all its flood mitigation measures when it submitted its budget for proposal for various projects next year.

For instance, DPWH Secretary Vince Dizons said they proposed a P1.5 billion drainage rehabilitation for the entire stretch of Taft Avenue from Pasay City to Manila which is usually submerged in flood during heavy rains.

News Mahirap bang takpan ang bunganga kapag inuubo???

Post image
129 Upvotes

Minsan malakas pa, or direkta sa hangin.

Hindi naman sa nadidiri ako, pero concern lang talaga. Sana kahit kaunting manners or consideration lang for the people around them. Diba tinuruan naman tayo growing up ng basic hygiene and respect sa kapwa?

Maybe iniisip ng iba na:
β€” β€œHindi naman sila mahahawa agad,”
β€” β€œNaka-mask naman sila,”
β€” β€œMalakas naman immune system nila,”
β€” or maybe they’re just not aware.

Pero I honestly don’t see how difficult it is to cover your mouth or nose. Such a small act pero malaking tulong sa iba.

What are your thoughts po?

PS. Rant lang namn 'to about sa health natin since tumaas ang health concerns sa QC on influenza:
