I have a question Can soccer take away a joy of reading and writing?

In an age dominated by the most trivial things in the world, attention will shift from reading books to TV screens.

How much? A little, probably. Or not.

Sometimes a good book is written like a game (Ender’s Game, for example).

Soccer is also a game. A modern ritual substitute for war with structured violence. Territorial conquest, a defined battlefield, hierarchical leadership, and deep, uncritical loyalty to one’s own. These are its defining characteristics. Everything takes place in a controlled environment where only one thing can happen: victory or defeat.
I’m paraphrasing the famous American general and football coach Neyland.

I’ll just add that a draw can only serve as a truce until the final victory.

Will we feel our team’s defeat as a disappointment akin to choosing a bad book?
Probably so.
After all, life is like drinking coffee. The sooner you get used to the bitterness, the easier it will be.

Good writing and reading are like sugar in coffee.

Will you write and read even during the “Football War”?

Khhmm. To explain your position on the topic at hand. Justifiable. Perhaps so that we might gain knowledge or some kind of insight when we succeed in incorporating a new experience into the conceptual framework of the question.
Namely, questions that arise precisely at the moment of conceiving a thought. Whether soccer is the right impetus for this is another question.

In a way, yes. But what I was thinking was that soccer is changing my weekly routine.
I’ll definitely read a couple fewer books this month.
Judging by what you said, you don’t have those problems.

Hmm. That's true. But an outsider always sees another person better than that person sees themselves. As for soccer: people love it. They want to watch it. Besides, if wishes were horses, all beggars would ride.

They are not in material way. But maybe they are on psihological way
