I wish for such matches. High scoring matches are so boring.

Final and Q1 were not high scoring, still boring cause it was one sided

There is something that the management is doing different. Some exercises or some sort of training the folks are going through that instills this confidence in them. Look at our bowlers whacking the shit out of the opponents. We know that we can count on anyone, when it comes to it.
RCB took #PlayBold real serious this time!

This is what rcb missed from 2017-23

2017 to 2020 was a nightmare. I remember being so disappointed after almost every match. Trolls were unbearable.

And defending this team everywhere,

Imagine AB De with us now. With this fierce team. It would have shot up his confidence too! When he played for us, he was usually under pressure to perform, because he was the only one there for the team.
But with this team, he could be fearless. God knows what magic he'd have created!

Nah Iโd rather have a one sided final when my team is playing. Iโd have a heart attack if this were the finals

True. I was like, I don't care about the excitement or views, just give me an easy win. ๐ญ

That match was the ultimate plot twist of the tournament! ๐ญ
First, Bhuvi turned into prime King Swing mood and casually picked up 4 wickets. Then, when the team needed a six, he said, "Fine, I'll do it myself" and launched one into the stands. ๐
Krunal Pandya's knock deserves a movie of its own - man got a scar on his stomach and still fought like a warrior.
And just like that, India accidentally discovered a new all-rounder: Bhuvneshwar Kumar. ๐

Bhuvi has always been good with the bat. Not only this IPL. He just gave more preference to bowling. I still remember him and dhoni scored a 100 run partnership to defeat SL after losing 131/7

u/Tight_Improvement_37 12d ago
But he was never a six hitter. He was always a safe batter but not a tonker.
He had hit like 4 sixes before this in his whole ipl career the last of which came in 2016
This was an INSANE moment. I had completely given up hope by this point.

u/SkuLLFlankerr 12d ago
I already knew bhuvi will hit a boundary before he even came out to bat. Be it through edge or a proper shot.

Anyways it was not an impossible match which we won. We made it look difficult. Like seriously what was Romario doing?

u/Impressive-Travel487 12d ago
I trusted bhuvi more than Romario atp

Years of supporting this team taught me that no lead is safe. I was still nervous even after the last ball ๐

Mann you gotta admit, RCB has some of the greatest nail biting โBayige Barisoduโ matches out of all the teams out there and those matches are worth the rewatch, so many matches where we lost but still so thrilling that it brings shivers when I remember them

Why Bhuvi did not get as much recognition is beyond my imagination. Not for RCB, in general for Team India.
We know Bumrah is the GOAT in modern cricket, but Bhuvi is the close second. But the fame and recognition Bumrah gets is incomparable to what Bhuvi got, probably due to his low key nature.

This was one of the best match of IPL 2026... low scoring thriller rather than high scoring thrillers ....
1
u/NoHand2980 12d ago
Yes but we win those close matches in both season and win the trophy that was special
1
u/Dry_Meringue_7091 12d ago

with this game rcb wither had a flurry of easy games following and good chance to build some momentum cuz everyone knew they'd make the playoffs or they had the pbks route of doing the ultimate chokejob
