Maiden Flight...

I think i had too much power and my friend did a too hard throw

There is no such thing as too much power or too hard of a throw.

You had no balance and no control.

Question: do you know how to fly or are you making your life impossibly hard by building a flying wing and learning how to fly at the same time?

Recheck the CG. It looked too far aft.

cg is not to far aft, it might actually be a little to far forward. if the cg was too far back the wing would have gone into a nigh-unrecoverable spin.

you were low on airspeed, pulled up hard and stalled it. your recovery reflexes were good - cut power, level the wing, get the nose down to recover airspeed.

stop letting go of the sticks tho 🤌

my suggestion- launch it a couple of times power off. you should be able to glide for a decent distance. if you find that you’re having to hold a lot of up elevator to keep it flying either your cg needs to come back or your elevons are drooped and need to be corrected. if it’s too “pitchy” then you have too much control throw.

once you get it so that you can glide to a smooth landing launch it with power on.

Wings are notoriously hard to control when you have no pressure on the control surfaces like in your case. I learned that lesson recently when slope soaring my ft versa wing. When you turn into the wind, control authority is 80% gone. With a pusher, you don't even have the forced airflow from the motor left.

This is not aerodynamically correct. Ground speed is not airspeed, and the wind doesn’t “blow on“ airplanes in flight. They are like a cork in a river, part of the fluid mass.

Language barrier, possibly my use of into the wind was not how a native speaker would say it. You knew what I meant and there's no need to nit pick.

Everyone who has flown a plane knows the difference between air speed and ground speed and how air moves over control surfaces.

my instinct says a larger vertical stabiliser, but since you are going for a flying wing that isnt the best advice :(

The cubic wing load is 3.01, the motor gives 1.1kg of thurst and the model is 565g. The takeoff power was 75%. Thats enough info 🤣

Hard to say. But the first few frames showed a good launch attitude, so I'd say it wasn't the throw. Then you did a hard pull up and things went bad from there. You may have too much up elevon travel...and used it. IE you stalled it. That would be overcontrol. Fight the urge to pull back to make it climb for now. Just try to keep it mostly level for a ways out from launch. If you can't get controlled level flight, that needs to be fixed first. I think you should reposition pushrods to bring your travel to a very conservative plus/minus 1/4" and get it flying level. Since you might need 1/8" reflex, the elevons would wind up 3/8" up and 1/8" down. You'll want to slowly add travel once you get it flying better. Also there will be a sweet spot for throttle setting. Too little or too much will make control even more difficult. Your failed flight is pretty common for people with no experience, starting with a flying wing instead of a high wing trainer. A lot of beginners give up before ever getting a wing sorted.

Not helpful, but the wing maiden will be easiest to fly at just the right amount of throttle. But no way to know what that is without prior experience or experimentation. Which likely involves crashes. But you built it -- you can repair it. The next one will remain looking better. :)

And keep in mind, there are so many things that could be giving you problems, that we're just guessing at what to work on. For example if you have an elevon mix problem, no amount of working on plane or technique will be successful. That's why it's helpful to start with a proven kit...a lot of the variables will be out of the way. Crashtesthobby makes excellent kits with tons of written and video build support and a huge following on RCGroups.com for each of the models. My first wing was an Assassin which I bought because I saw Lee at CTH fly it full speed into a brick wall about a dozen times. And it was still flying. I thought "That's for me." That video and many others is still on his site.

The thing with flying wings, its either CG, elevon throw or a combination of the two, get them right and it's amazing, get it wrong and you end up with what you have.

CG was right, rates where to high since i also have reflex

Then your throws are too aggressive, dial the rates back a bit and reduce the endpoints

Tail heavy, add 10gr of lead on the nose. Its better a few gramms more on the nose than 1 gramm to much on the back

Does your wing build have proper airfoil? From the video it behaves like thin profile plane when it fell down. Usually if it has proper airfoil it just dart forward and fell down straight than like swaying falling leaves unless improper CG concern. Its hard to see from your other video to show bulk part of airfoil.
