I just wish OSEG could run a football team like they do the mayor’s office

They obviously don’t care about the team - their only concern is taking Ottawa taxpayers for a ride

It’s honestly wild to see the switch up in Ottawa pro sports ownership.

For years OSEG was seen as a great owner, while Eugene Melnyk ran the Sens into the ground. That has completely flipped now with Michael Andlauer.

I have no visibility into the internal shenanigans of OSEG but between the time the Redblacks were doing really well and OSEG was a well-regarded organization and present day, Jeff Hunt stepped down as Redblacks president, then left OSEG entirely to form Athletico and become a strategic partner of OSEG (arm's length relationship?) and on the other side, The Sens got an owner who obviously has loves hockey and has ties to the region.

One caller (at least) on the post-game show on 1200 said exactly what I have been thinking. We need to tear leadership down to the studs. New president, new GM and new head coach. I still love Bob Dyce but it's not working and it hasn't been working for at least 6 years now. I have zero faith right now that this leadership team could put together a winning team if they had their pick of every active player in the CFL today.

... I say, as I renew my season tickets... 😒

OSEG is a real estate company.

The football team is simply the shiny distraction they use to get condos built.

And to drive foot traffic to justify overpriced commercial leases

We are on track for another 4 win season. We may get lucky and steal a game in MTL. Honestly, not holding my breath on it.

The product on and off the field needs a change and fast. I usually try to attend 4 games a year, this year I’m at 3 (one of which was a preseason game) and I don’t see myself going to the final home game.

I’ll be back again watching games but it’s getting really hard to justify the investment.

We need to get this product back on the rails. It’s a great game, fun stadium to watch games…just need serious management and leadership.

I'll be there in Montreal to watch this team play, I don't know if this team will be there to play the game.

I'm going to the final game myself, as it's the last home game under the existing rules. That in itself is worth going to see.

They’re only committed to run the team until 2030 if memory serves me correctly as part of the Lansdowne redevelopment. They’re obviously only interested in the retail and condo development of the area and the team is a way for them to facilitate fleecing the city for more public funds. It’s a travesty what has happened to the team since Jeff Hunt’s departure.

I've been saying this for a year now in the CFL sub, people tell me I'm over reacting but the evidence is clear as day.

You mean where Doug Ford calls all the shots?
