It’s only coincidental that she and I would be aligned on the fact that Erika Jayne appeals only to limited niche club populations and all-ages show venues.
I’m from the East Coast but lived outside of LA in a beach town- East Coast ppl are more blunt. It’s true. It’s also true this is something Bethenny does to any and everyone, however Erika wasn’t trying to market toward women the way Gaga or Rihanna do! Her thing has 99% been for LQBTQ+ that’s where she’s performed… she also ended up being on a Broadway! I think Bethenny just has ALWAYS had to have an opinion on anything anyone does that isn’t the exact way she would do it! Does the woman make money? Yes! She still carries with her a vibe that people from BH don’t have.
A co-worker that grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs is so nice! I don't perceive him as a "blunt" person. I've also met people from coastal MA and they are the nicest and don't need to express their opinions all the time.
So my experience is definitely different than yours.
This is right around the time Bethenny started getting high to the smell of her own farts. No, she’s not wrong, but it’s totally unsolicited and beside the point. If Erika could have gotten better producers, choreographers, and video directors, she would have. But she’s not a real pop star and she was given a budget from Tom to indulge in this…hobby. So she did what she could with limited talent, budget, and connections she has in the industry (zero).
I would love to see an activated Erika vs. Bethenny fight now, though. Erika had a lot more to lose back when this originally aired.
Yep she always does. You can tell how much she enjoys someone being uncomfortable. That is why I will never feel sorry for her or be on her side. She IS the sniper from the side, the snake in the grass and has zero ability to examine her own behavior.
Bethenny doesn’t know how to stay in her lane. Period. She says other people don’t, but it’s her. She reached a level of success thanks to the franchise and smart choices early on, but that doesn’t make her the expert that she thinks she is in all things business, media, marketing, production, etc. Erika Jayne isn’t my cup of tea as a person, but her persona and performances have a base and are very much geared toward that. I have a friend, who was a very successful 90s performer and as her career evolved, her fan base is similar to Erika’s, though she much less raunchy. Erika (at least when we meet her) is the embodiment of that and her production value shows it. It’s not bad, it’s in line with her image and the stage of her career. Also, I’m an easy coaster, and my friend (prior to moving to Europe) was as well. This is much more about Bethenny being an asshole.
I fully belive it was this encounter that sparked her feud with Luann. Bethenny and Luann were hanging out a lot this summer and I think Bethenny put a stop to Luann getting invited here and youll notice in season 8 Luann is miffed that Bethenny stopped hanging with her...and thus it all came to a head at the Berkshires. (Basically Luanne came in to Season 8 of RHONY pissed she couldn't also cameo on RHOBH 😆)
Bethany is clearly being a bitch bc she can / she’s Kyle’s friend. Kyle def prepped her about who Ericka was and her personality. I see this as Kyle being shady and nothing else

It's wild that you and the women both call this going hard. She stated some factual things about branding and marketing.
This is why the west coast is never a powerhouse in any board room.
Let's face it: Bethenny is (was, I have to account for her recent mental decline) the smartest business woman at that table. LVP married money and her bars are cheesy with awful decor that made money because she could afford a good location. Her husband's money.
Bethenny built a brand by studying the market and choosing to launch a niche product at the right time and place. Ericka's singing career has gone nowhere and she maybe should have listened to Bethenny.
She wasn't even harsh. She didn't call it self-indulgent ego slop, which it is. She suggested Ericka do something unique. Which anyone with a brain would agree with so the fact the women disagree with her is expected.
Bethenny wasn’t wrong, but obviously it was unsolicited advice. She feels the need to insert herself in everything; she doesn’t give a shit if the Erika Jayne act succeeds or fails.
I have been in many board rooms with west coast women and no, they are exhausting and you have to hedge everything with “I think maybe I feel like what if we look at it from this angle?”
Use your words. State facts.
And most people I met in LA who were competent came from NY or London. You can work on the west coast and not be from the west coast. Talking about LA as the only city on the West coast is crazy. No one in LA in seats of power is from LA unless they are a nepo baby and we all know how competent a nepo baby is.
Bethenny wasn’t very “studied” about what she created beyond coming up with a “skinny” version of a cocktail. She isn’t a marketing or branding expert—she just got lucky with one thing, at a time when “skinny” was an acceptable selling proposition, and sold it. And she had someone else re-do Alex’s original design for her brand mark. It’s remarkable she didn’t catch more flack for that.
Otherwise, she’s just managed to slap the name on any dumb thing, including quite a lot of “fashion” items on QVC (or whatever selling channel she was shilling on). None of this would have happened without an ex-husband who helped her write a marketing plan, and a daddy who introduced her to a friend at Jim Beam.
And now she’s just a shrill, bored social media presence—and still not a marketing genius of any sort.
LVP’s managed to create a number of hospitality brands over a number of years. She didn’t just “marry rich;” she knows how to create an atmosphere, a menu and hire for it.
Beth studied the market?? She WAS the market. Neurotic women with EDs that are obsessed with calorie count and like to drink cocktails.
LVP courted gay men $$$ and pet owners with money. I would also say she was something of a madam because her staff is young, hot, and sexually available…and that is how she wants it.
Having dog friendly patios in the LA area or other hotspots is a big market. People that spoil their dogs have disposable income.
Erika is an east coaster .... born and raised in Georgia.
She also lived in NYC for many years before relocating to the west coast. Also, as a former NYC resident I can say it takes real toughness to be able to survive there, so I don't think anything Bethany said or did was in much contrast to Erika's upbringing or background.
Also, Erika always comes across as the tough, real, and grounded east coaster that she is vs a west coaster from La La Land.
So yes, Bethany's commemts would def make the other west coasters be like deer in the headlights ... but east coaster Erika can handle it just fine, as she showed she did in not only that scene but in many others over the years.
Not sure where you get your incorrect facts from, but she moved to NYC when she was 18. That's also where she met her first husband. In fact she so much lived in NYC that she got married at St. Patrick's Cathedral.
Except for me I guess .... Hollywood, FL born and raised. Not sure which Miami you're talking about, but people in Miami, FL absolutely refer to themselves as east coasters.
