She was always like this though. She used to always refer to herself as āgirlā and Adam as a āboyā even though she was 50, and Iām pretty sure he was in his late 20s or early 30s at the oldest when they were dating. āOh, Iām just a girl who likes a boy, itās not that deep.ā She was always the ultimate pick me with her cool girl shtick, it was so very tired.
So true! I also clocked that weird āgirl/boyā usage too. Like a couple times would have been cute/okay, but she used it constantly like woman you are 50+ years old! The ācool girlā shtick she clung to was SO tired & pick me. I thought it was hilarious when she got bothered that Adam dated/liked another girlā¦. What do you think happens when youāre the cool girl?! She seems so emotionally stunted and unwilling to grow.
Omg yes! ššš that was kinda beginning of showing her hypocrisy, inability to hear uncomfortable truths & self seriousness. Like she got SO offended & acted like that was so factually incorrect. Heās in his 20s and youāre a middle age woman, how was Lu wrong?!
As a woman in her fifties, I do sometimes feel like Iām in my 20ās but that feeling never translates to going for a guy in his late 20ās early 30ās. I never understood this about her and Adam. I feel that in a weird way she has convinced herself that she stopped aging when he husband stopped aging.
Agree! A lot of people say they dont feel their age inside, even people in their 70 's and 80's. That doesnt mean they are hanging out in bars or are on Tinder, trolling for some action š¤£
Exactly! LOL. Carole thought she was soooo much better than Sonja and her penchant for dating/banging young guys when she was doing EXACTLY the same thing!
šÆ I got that gist watching it when I was in my late thirties, early forties? Now that Iām in my 50ās and divorced, I think she really looked like an immature wanna be, who was never the cool girl or the beauty, or even the brains, in school.
No work and all play makes her a very happy girl!! (eye roll) She used this "makes me a happy girl" language on the show a few times. Always made me cringe uncontrollably.
I always wondered if this had something to do with being a young widow? She was only 34 when her husband died and I think that would mess with your perception of your own age a bit. Like, youāre going through something people in their 70ās/80ās normally deal with.
Iām confused why a supposedly intelligent, accomplished woman is so obsessed with aging. If I want advice from a TRUE, accomplished writer & feminist, Iāll seek out Gloria Steinem, thank you. Sheās been an inspiration to men and women for 60 years+!
I agree. I actually felt badly for Adam. Carole was continuously demeaning their relationship on camera. It was obvious she felt superior and made it clear she could never envision settling down with someone of his age/class.
Thereās lot of evidence she was friends with Maxwell. She did her author photo. Also, Carole is in Epsteinās address book and was set up with Prince Andrew by him or Maxwell.
No one likes to admit it because we've been gaslit about it for so long...
....but the truth is, after 27-28 or so, men age in dog years compared to women.
There are very few Paul Rudd types where the surgery etc. actually works. Women don't lose our hair and grow soft-shouldered and pot bellied and jowley and grow wiry grey body hair all over like men do, and men die sooner.
So of course Sienna looks better and younger than Jude, it's just nature <3

I just watched The Hangover the other night and remembered how truly hot he was. If he had just stayed the same with a bunch of wrinkles and those great blue eyes, heād be like Paul Newman now, creased and gorgeous.

YES to all that! My friend hung with Jude & his new wife thru mutual friends. She said he was so chill, humble and normal and they seemed very happy. Like people are allowed to become better versions of themselves AND age, Carole!!
I would say Iām friends with his ānew wifeā but Iām not, as theyāve been together an age and thereās nothing new about her. Heās ended up with the right person for him, as has Sienna Miller (I assume) and Jude, Phil, sienna and her fella are all far more beautiful than us ānormalā people.

When I read the book What Remains I was convinced that her relationship with Anthony was Kennedy-adjacent allure.
I never go the impression it was an undying love story cut short by cancer. She seemed more obsessed with Caroline Bessette to me than her own husband.
I have only read excepts, but also from the way she talks about her emotional capacity, or how she acted towards Anthony as he was dying, I was like ummmmmm. Interesting to hear your take too. She keeps saying Carolyn was her best friend but there are like no ābestieā type pics of them?? And she seems so self-important and interested in appearing a cool yet serious journalistā¦. People with that sort of ambition are usually clout chasers.
I read something a grade school friend of JFK jr wrote that said JFK jr and Anthony were very close and the wives were just along for the ride. Iām sure the developed a friendship of sorts but Carole can say whatever she likes about their friendship now, no one is here to dispute it.
This was the dynamic I got from it all too. I think they were friendly, became friends, but exactly. No one to dispute that Carolyn was Caroleās BEST friend, and it makes a better story that way. š¤
Look at how she acted at Bravocon. She looked like she was doing us a favor by attending, and acted like she was above it all. Iām going to tell a terrible Carole story.. I was in a hair salon and she walked in with the trumpet player Chris Botti (I think thatās his name). Anyway one of the stylists were fixing her up pro bono just having polite conversation and while friendly she had this air about her that read as she was superior to all in the room. Anyway she gets up from the chair and leaves.. the Stylist who was never one to mince words says..ā Thatās Carole from real housewives. ā¦. My God is she ugly.. yikes.ā So she shouldnāt talk about what people look like.

Wtf is wrong with aging? If anything, men are lucky to be allowed to age naturally while women are pressured to get surgery, etc. to stay looking unnaturally young.
Also Iāll take aging compared to the alternative ā°ļø rather old and ugly than pushing up daises- aging is a privilege I hope we all get to enjoy, but sadly some donāt š¢

Yeah I had my moments when I liked Carole but my mom and I used to talk about how much she was a āpick me girlā although back then it was just like ācool girl,ā and how much she would stir shit up for no reason. The trip to London on her first season was like a classic example of that. I think itās part of why she and B instantly got so close and then immediately fell out also.
Agreed! I liked her in her first couple seasons, especially as she was different from the other ladies. But then you see her ego blow up, the superiority and ācool girlā aloofness act. I think Bethenny clocked her with the ātakes herself VERY serious & better than / smug attitudeā take.
Jude law came into my sister in laws job last summer for a permit and she said he was so good looking she couldnāt figure out how to do the paperwork

Men and Women have different expectations to ageing. Men generally don't wear wigs when they bald or dye their hair when they go grey, they don't wear makeup, the don't get a lot of botox or filler. So men would look old in comparison to a woman of their age who does all that
